I remember that that I got this problem sometimes on xperia z and normally a reboot helped.

Ensure glove touch is disabled.
Even I am having this issue... Seems like Glove mode automatically turns on by itself even though it has been disabled.
So far no solution.
Yea it's like the keyboard swipes it self. Same for the screen. Even factory reset, but it happens again once in awhile.
Hello everyone. I bought via ebay display for Sony Xperia z2 but when I connected it turned out to not work properly. He started his own to run applications, as well as to work on it with 30 fingers. I guess that's called Ghost effect. What can be the problem? In short operating normally, and then go crazy.
I'm not completely reassembled the phone after changing the display because waiting waterproof tape for display.
. Does it have something to do with my problem?

I took it in to Sony and they repaired it for me. They told me that there was water underneath so they replaced the damaged parts for me. But the ghost touch issues still happens once in a while...

I just bought a archos 101 g9 when it was on sale on woot last week and so far it is working pretty good, however I have an annoying problem with it.
If it has been sleeping for over a few minutes (regular sleep, not the deep sleep) and I wake it back up the touch screen goes crazy. The bottom left corner keeps detecting a touch event. It will cycle from multiple on/off touches a second to one on/off every few seconds. If I rotate the tablet to portrait, it will start scrolling the screen none stop to the left. So far the only fix is to do a reboot.
It does not happen every time, just occasionally when I wake it up from sleep.
Today i got a case for it, and whenever it is in the case, the touch screen goes crazy. Same touch events in that same area.
I am guessing something is wrong with the digitizer. Anyone else seen this problem before?
Have the same problem, and as I've read on xda and archosfans forums, this isn't an uncommon issue. We'll just have to wait for a firmware update, as rebooting seems to fix it, so it doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.

I have exactly the same problems.
@ARCHOS: PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS BUG !
Sensitive Touch
I have similar problems with the touchscreen. If I'm holding it with one hand by a corner, it detects touch. The rest of the time it is a little jittery and releases or double taps in games. It's still not a deal breaker, though.
I hope we don't have to swap digitizers to fix it.
Hi !
Me too

I'll give that a try and see if that works. I just got a case and as soon as it is in the case it is even worse.
EDIT: I installed a calibration app on xda and it really made it worse!
What app are you using to calibrate it?
I have a similar issue sometimes.
For me the fix is simply to clean the screen.
The strange thing is, it happens even when the screen doesn't appear to be especially dirty but I put the tablet to sleep, give the screen a serious clean with a microfibre cloth and the touchscreen issues vanish.
Could be a different issue to what you guys are having but the symptoms are the same and it's an easy 'fix' to try.
Hope it helps.

Thanks, I had not noticed that area in the settings before. Recalibrating it in the cover has helped a lot.
I pretty much had this since day 1......
The current state is ; it doesn't work at all then all of a sudden It will pop back into life and then pretty much go "mental" as already described, I also found it reacts poorly to minor temperature variations, i.e going from outside to inside and general day to day travelling. Recalibrating used to "help" but now has no effect.
From watching the debug logs part of me thinks it's a bit of both, hardware and software ( just a hunch ) I noticed the driver fail to get a "ping" response from the hardware a couple of times.
I've pratically given up on it myself and plugged a keyboard and mouse in via a hub on the full size usb...... The hub has now stopped working for some reason , I'm now on a OTG Keyboard with a Virtual Mouse Driver using the numeric keypad and some adb input trickery ,
I've got another touch screen/digitizer to plug in, just not got round to putting it in yet and a little part of me is starting to enjoy finding more elaborate ways of interacting with the device...
Does anyone know who the OEM of the digitizer Unit is? My previous investigation led me to china but information seems to be thin on the ground with this one

Same problem and even managed a RMA from ARCHOS. Thing is your OC edition fixed it for me.
So recently my z ultra has been acting up there's a single black line that flickers across the screen at time and then the screen turns sort of white and whatever image is on the screen at the time of this happening stays there if you scroll to another home screen or open an app it eventually goes away if you turn the screen on and off multiple times but then it happens again sooner or later......i will upload pics or a video later to give you guys a better idea on what im talking about

Go to phone > *#*#7378423#*#* > Service test > Display
If the screen is not all white then you have LCD problem.
If all white that's mean your LCD is good, maybe try flash another ROM or factory reset.

Sounds like you're having the same problem as me. You only have a single line though, while 2/3 of my display is like this. Mine gets like this whenever it's a little under room temperature, and it's a hardware defect according to Sony.
Post some pictures though. It could be software related (if you're lucky).

My XZU has this 1x1 cms 'purple cloud' at top mid center of screen all the time. I see it at the phone boot animation also. Its not captured on screen. So I guess its an LCD burn mark
Its visible only at medium and high brightness on a black background. Not on white background.

Just checked out your video, and i'm having this issue too. That's called "ghosting", and that means that the response time of the screen has gone to hell. The issue gets triggered on mine when the temperature drops a little.
Try this:
- Is it functioning normally in room temperature? If yes, put the phone in your refrigerator for 2-3 minutes and see if it's still functioning properly. If not, well.. then you're having the same issue as me, and i've talked to Sony, and it's a hardware defect and you'll have to use your warrenty and get a new screen. I sent mine in for repairs today, so i'm crossing my fingers.
IF you decide to send it in for repairs, remember to call them and ask them to do whatever triggers the issue, or else they'll simply re-flash the firmware and call it a day. That's what happened to me the first time, and you don't want that to happen

Alright, so it's the same issues as i have, and it's a production error according to Sony, so you'll have to send it in for repair. This is strangly enough only the second case where this happens, that i've read or heard about (including my own Ultra), so it doesn't seem to be that big of an issue. It could simply be an issue on a batch of Ultras that we got. It's a really strange defect though.
Alright, so I got my Ultra back yesterday with a new screen, and the problem is solved. I tested it by leaving it in my refrigerator for about 5 minutes, and there were no signs of slowdowns or other defects, so that's the way to go

Hi guys,
I took my Go out for a swim and after my swim, the screen started to flicker and eventually the screen died(yes, all the flaps were closed, I double checked). Now this was last month, and I did the whole rice bag thing, and still no improvement :3 But occasionally the screen comes back to life when I tap on it and then dies again.. And last week, I just happened to switch on the phone and it started working like nothing ever happened! And yesterday it stopped working again I took it to the Sony store and they say that it might take about 400RM(120USD) to fix it.. Is there anything that I can do to fix this??
Try to have it tested for water resistance, if a machine test shows leaks even after cleaning the caps it's not your fault (at least if $ony follows their service manuals to the letter)
You can open the screws up in the back and manually troubleshoot what is up with it. Check it for any water or moisture on the inside or any damage from it. Good luck

@Hukanawa
Did you switch it off the instant it got wet. Using the internally wet phone could damage the main board which could be causing the problems.
Or the screen could have been screwed up...

I did switch it off after the screen started flickering :/.. I opened her up today and theres a a little of rust on one of the connectors that lead from the screen to the board..
Well there you go. Youre gonna have to get new parts or fix the old ones.
Try removing the rust from the connector, then fully drying the insides and see if the screen turns on if you moove the connector around. Also check ebay for the price of a new screen. It might be cheaper then you think.

After water damage my xperia z3 having the same problem! Screen flickering, brightness is very low I can barely see anything in daylight! Otherwise everything working fine! Any idea what might causing the problem? Is it the screen or the motherboard is damaged?
Been having this issue with my phone every time I receive a phone call and finished with the call my phone starts to operate by its self anyway to fix this thanks
Are you on the latest firmware? I read that on earlier firmwares, if the screen is even slightly wet, from your facial oil or hand oil, or water, the screen will go wonky and operate on its own due to sensitivity issue.

For me oil from finger doesn't cause this at all ,, but water does. I make sure to wipe off water if it gets on the screen.

I have this problem occasionally too .. the phantom touch!
I just turn off the, then wipe the screen clean. Good o know that this happens only to my phone alone!
Just name sure phone is dry.
After briefly holding my xperia z3 under running water, my camera now only shows a white screen. I was only going to clean my screen, and made sure all the ports were properly closed. 1st there was fog in my lens, but that's gone now.
Q: will the white screen of the camera become usable after some time too?
Sent from my SGP321 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I too had a same problem with my Z1, it was similar like you, at the end the result was a hardware problem I changed my camera.
The lens got damaged.
Today for some reason i tried my camera again & its magically working again. Guess the moisture must have dried up now ???
