Phone operating by its self - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Been having this issue with my phone every time I receive a phone call and finished with the call my phone starts to operate by its self anyway to fix this thanks

Are you on the latest firmware? I read that on earlier firmwares, if the screen is even slightly wet, from your facial oil or hand oil, or water, the screen will go wonky and operate on its own due to sensitivity issue.

Yeah definitely sounds like moisture happens to me when I make a call.

For me oil from finger doesn't cause this at all ,, but water does. I make sure to wipe off water if it gets on the screen.

I have this problem occasionally too .. the phantom touch!
I just turn off the, then wipe the screen clean. Good o know that this happens only to my phone alone!

Just name sure phone is dry.

[Q] Anyone Have problems with ghost fingers?

So for some reason, after I did a root and bl unlock, my phone has been acting up. when I try to send a text, multiple keys become activated its like I have ghost fingers. and I've used multiple text apps. I've returned phone to stock and still same problem. any suggestions are welcome. or any idea why its happening
Same thing happens to me.
You experience random scrolling too?
Usually it's solved by turning off the screen and turning it back on (power button) and happens about 1/20 times of turning the screen on.
Touchscreen shuttering, same problem. Hardware (touchscreen) or...?
Solutions?

I have this same issue but I have chalked it up to being my sweaty hands. That's the only time it happens is when my hands are sweating.

I've had this problem for months and am sure it's related to moisture on the screen rather than a ROM issue.
To fix it I used to have to turn the screen off, wipe it down completely and turn it back on. Also wiping my fingers dry helped.
Now, I have a glare reducing screen protector on it and the problem has basically gone away. I chose a glare reducing protector to give me slightly more texture to the screen. The default glass was just too smooth and sensitive.
Maybe ur matrix are haunted by a ghost apk......j.k
I´ve been having this issue since CM7.
When my screen is wet, it becomes completely unusable. Excessive dirt also causes this problem.
And a more important thing, i´m now using neutrino Rom, and i´ve noticed the now we can use the fingerprint reader as a scroll pad, and actually works pretty good.
Problem solved! I will post my solution later.
Please, post the solution. I'm having this problem, and I think it's software.

[Q] In-call screen blackout issue. Help please!

I'm hoping someone has a solution to this very annoying issue I'm having with my Note 2.
It's Verizon - stock - 4.1.2
When I dial a phone number and put the phone to my ear the screen goes black - as it should. But when I move the phone away from my ear the screen doesn't come back on. It stays blacked out and I can't get it to come back on with the home or even the power button.
This means I can't hang up, I can't put the phone on speakerphone mode, I can't use the touchtone pad to navigate through menus. It's made my phone a real pain in the arse.
Anyone have any thoughts on what to do or what's going wrong?:fingers-crossed:
A couple things I'm thinking... Try pulling out your spen when it happens.. Do a battery pull if nothing else.. It might be the proximity censor... Do you have a screen protector on it?

I'll try the s-pen, maybe that will work.
I've got a screen protector, but it's the same one I've had on since I first bought the phone months ago. I've pulled the battery several time, it's the only way to hang up!
I too think it's the proximity censor, which sucks because I don't want to trade in my phone for some refurb that's gone through God knows what.
Good luck...those were the only things I could think of. ..
Take a look to this thread http://forums.androidcentral.com/t-...when-making-call-screen-doesnt-turn-back.html maybe it help!

Check your case and your screen protector. and clean the proximity sensor. Know it sounds weird, but have problems before with screen protectors getting oil on them when placed to the ear and the sensor thinking you are still close. Also lighting from cases makes the sensor go fruity. Not a science but worth a check.

I dont know if its just sprint phones but i assume most Note 3's will experience this issue. Something about the sensors not reading accurately. When i clean the sensor area with a cloth it works correctly. Hold the phone to my ear for a few minutes and it stops working. Clean the sensor area while still on the call and it will start back working... Issue probably started day one but just now realizing its a issue.
I had issues with this as well, the screen wouldn't turn off during a call, but turned out to be my screen protector. Pulled it off and works perfect now. Cheers!
Returned mine yesterday with a little headache as the rep i first spoke to decided to play with my phone vs doing a exchange. Manager sorted it all out and gave me a new phone. Also knox was tripped but i don't think they care. Dont think im going to root again till KNOX is out the way.
The sensor works like it is suppose to now. Funny story is that the sensor tried to act right at the sprint store. They have spot lights so the sensor was reading correctly. Explained to them i didnt walk around under spot lights they agreed and did the exchange.
So, I had this issue on my phone. Tried a bunch of stuff. The fix for me: can of compressed air targeted into the earpiece. Immediately solved and perfect again.

Worked for me for about 5 min on my old note 3. Also wiping the screen were the sensor is works. Of the screen cuts off and you wipe that area with a microfiber cloth the screen comes back on. Lol

Will report back if problems return. Hoping for the best I already tripped knox.
Hello everyone. I found the cause of this I hope. The main culprit is hardware. 1st I will tell solution for this problem. Just push hard the earpiece chrome grill inside with ur nails and the proximity sensor will work properly. problem is when we use phone and it gets heated at top then the glue which is holding earpiece grill will loose itself. its hardware problem and eventually many note3 users will face this. im using exynos note3.

You can also get a micro fiber cloth a wipe the sensor area. And the light will cut back on. Before returning the defective one i did that a few times. Never even touched the ear speaker grill.
So once you have the phone to your ear and it cuts off....Wipe just the sensor are with the micro fiber cloth. The screen will come back on. It will happen again the next time you use the phone but i am just saying its not the ear speaker.

Go to phone > *#*#7378423#*#* > Service test > Display
If the screen is not all white then you have LCD problem.
If all white that's mean your LCD is good, maybe try flash another ROM or factory reset.

Sounds like you're having the same problem as me. You only have a single line though, while 2/3 of my display is like this. Mine gets like this whenever it's a little under room temperature, and it's a hardware defect according to Sony.
Post some pictures though. It could be software related (if you're lucky).

My XZU has this 1x1 cms 'purple cloud' at top mid center of screen all the time. I see it at the phone boot animation also. Its not captured on screen. So I guess its an LCD burn mark
Its visible only at medium and high brightness on a black background. Not on white background.

Just checked out your video, and i'm having this issue too. That's called "ghosting", and that means that the response time of the screen has gone to hell. The issue gets triggered on mine when the temperature drops a little.
Try this:
- Is it functioning normally in room temperature? If yes, put the phone in your refrigerator for 2-3 minutes and see if it's still functioning properly. If not, well.. then you're having the same issue as me, and i've talked to Sony, and it's a hardware defect and you'll have to use your warrenty and get a new screen. I sent mine in for repairs today, so i'm crossing my fingers.
IF you decide to send it in for repairs, remember to call them and ask them to do whatever triggers the issue, or else they'll simply re-flash the firmware and call it a day. That's what happened to me the first time, and you don't want that to happen

Alright, so it's the same issues as i have, and it's a production error according to Sony, so you'll have to send it in for repair. This is strangly enough only the second case where this happens, that i've read or heard about (including my own Ultra), so it doesn't seem to be that big of an issue. It could simply be an issue on a batch of Ultras that we got. It's a really strange defect though.
Alright, so I got my Ultra back yesterday with a new screen, and the problem is solved. I tested it by leaving it in my refrigerator for about 5 minutes, and there were no signs of slowdowns or other defects, so that's the way to go

Weird: Keyboard and video very slow after shower.

Hey guys, sorry for title, I couldn't find a better one :S
So what happens? Sometimes, after I took my phone making a shower with me :3 somethings become very slow for about 30/60 min: somethings like keyboard, notifications sounds, whatsapp audio and YouTube and gallery videos pause after 2sec of playback. All other stuff still being fast as hell: camera, music, etc.
It happened already 2 times in 2weeks (so like 14 times I get my baby a shower )
Sent from my SGP712 using Tapatalk
up, nobody has an idea?
Well, for one, stop taking showers with your phone. I think the problem might be with how the water registers on the touchscreen, maybe it slightly shows multiple touches, requiring CPU power. Don't do that anymore

You use your phone under the shower on a daily basis?
If so, why?
And more to the point of your question, do you talk on the phone or are you using the touchscreen to play games, use whatsapp or make... erm shower pictures?
How does the touchscreen react and work while it is still exposed to the permanent drizzle of water?
If you have this thing again I would suggest using the service menu (go to phone and enter *#*#7378423#*#* and run some of the service tests on the affected parts of the phone... You can also try the Xperia Diagnostics tool from the Play Store to almost the same effect.
What actually solves the problem when it occurs? Do you just wait it out and after 60 mins it is done? Or do you reboot when you notice it?
So is it even lagging after you dried your phone?
Do you clean your earphone output? This could explain why your videos are pausing on its own

Usually I whatsapp mostly. When the screen screen is totally wet, it still works pretty good, until little drops collapse into a single big drop; so I have to blow on my screen.
Reboot doesn't work, just have to wait it to stops.
