Any aosp roms yet - Verizon LG G3

Just wondering if anyone knows of any aosp roms for our g3 are available

No, not yet.
My understanding is that only Roms based on the stock kernel can be loaded using the bumped TRWP. The web-based tool to bump mods that contain different kernels like ASOP would require has not gone live yet. It might be a while before it does, now the Verizon OTA to v10c has come out muddying the waters further.
Good ol' Verizon. Sigh...

Er er incorrect. They can make any Rom not just stock based. In fact there is a MIUI Rom available as we speak.

The MIUI Rom is on the stock kernel.
Otherwise, it would have to be Bumped, and it has not been.

Will we see 4.4 for ME7?

Now that the Nexus 5 is officially announced and GPE devices should probably see the update soon, what is the chance that we will see 4.4 stock for ME7 users? I know that stock 4.3 won't work with safestrap, but does this mean that 4.4 stock won't? It might be to early to ask this question since I do not think anyone has been able to look at 4.4 source code yet.

This belongs in Q&A, but I'll answer.
No, 4.4 AOSP or GE will not work for SafeStrap until a workaround is found to allow non-TouchWiz Kernels. 4.4 TouchWiz would likely work when released, though.

I came from a Droid 3 which in order to root you had to use SafeStrap. We did have an unofficial CM port for the device, but we had safestrap which would have stopped any other kernal but Motorola's from being installed. Is the difference here is that the Droid 3 has Kexec? I thought Kexec was built into safestrap, or am I wrong? Is there the possibility for Kexec with ME7 GS4 or no?

Using D802 ROMs on Canadian G2 Variants

Hi guys, this is specifically for all you with Canadian variants (D803) of the G2. There are very few ROMs for the Canadian variants (shout out to Houstonn for ROMs and Wootever for kernels, you rock) so I was looking for a way of expanding our flashing possibilities. In the D801 forum I came across a great post by a D801 owner who flashed a D802 (international) ROM by installing it on his G2 and then flashing a kernel that would work with his phone. Turns out it worked for him (with the exception of the PAC rom).
So I decided to try the same method with my Canadian G2 by installing a D802 ROM and then flashing a kernel that works with the Canadian variant (I used Wootever's kernel here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472318 ). And guess what, it worked fine! Now I don't know if this works with all ROMs but I just thought you should know it worked for me.
Go ahead and try yourselves if you want, please please please backup before flashing ANYTHING. Nandroid should be your favorite word, honestly. Happy flashing!
NOTE: I flashed the D802 LG FLEX UI Rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544359 Everything seems fine except LTE does not seem to work. I'm going to try some other ROMs, feel free to post some of your experiences here if you like.
Confirmed working ROMs:
LG flex UI (possible LTE issue): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544359
Beanstalk D802 (weak haptic feedback, but really awesome otherwise): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498203
Confirmed NOT working ROMs:
Unofficial CyanogenMod 11 (boot loop): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498084
Grievous ROM ("cannot connect to camera" error): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546655

That's a good idea. Well I'll download a few more ROMs and try 'em out and report back... It's difficult because TWRP takes so damn long to wipe partitions for some reason.
Did you set the correct APN for LTE for your carrier? There should be no reason why you cant get LTE using a D802 rom if your APN is right.

I've read that CM11 will work if used with Wootsever's G2 Kernels. Personally I got mine to boot but kept rebooting after hitting the CM setup screen.
Have you had any luck with AEON or Grievious ROMs for the D803? I tried the AEON ROM with a Bell boot.img but it didn't seem to work.
Try with houstons kernel

No luck I'm afraid. Though I just realized those are D800 ROMs, not D802. Going to try with a D802 ROM now

I'll look at that, too, but I'm sure once there is more CM11 development houstonn will release a compatible kernel. For now Beanstalk is REALLY awesome for your AOSP needs. The only problem is the weak vibration. Otherwise everything works well.
Update: Crap, just realized that the kernel was NOT houstonn's, but Wootevers, that I was using. SORRY FOR THE FALSE CREDIT. Both of them still rock though. In other news, Grievous ROM is NOT confirmed working with Wootever's kernel, so yeah. It boots and most things are fine, but the camera will not work.: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546655 "Cannot connect to camera".
Is there a link for Houston's kernel or is woootever the newest?

Anyone tried CM11 based roms? All of them give me an error and never flash. Something like "Updater binary error, Device not supported"
Only rom I've seen work apart from the Beanstalk one is Slimkat with Houstonn's Paranoid Android D803 kernel
If you have some time and really want CM 11. Download a version for D802. Open the zip and edit the updater script and change the first lines with D802 to D803.
Then you can use ayysir CM kernel variant. You will also need to have the superSU zip to flash and get back root as you will lose root once you flash the kernel.
I downloaded the D801 version not even paying attention and did this and CM has been working great.
Any d803 kernels that I could use to flash on D802? The one mention in the first post has been discontinued..

[Q] Illusion for MK2!

Those on MK2 With safe strap and want to get rid of Touch Wiz ( which I do -.-) Get the Illusion ROM for your Galaxy S4 (Verizon). That's all. Except the only bug/s is WiFi doesn't even if you try flashing the MK2 Module's. And those On AT&T, T-Mobile, Straight Talk, NET10... Etc using there Verizon Galaxy S4 will not get Data to work. I have Straight talk and tried everything to get Data to work. I've flashed all Carrier Roms (the AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and U.S. Cellular) together and see if that would help. Nope. But Messaging (just SMS) works and so does calls and Voice Mail (xD)
And if someone could extract this and try making another AOSP ROM that works with MK2 (or SafeStrap) and make CM11/10 to work, that would be excellent!
Credit for the ROM goes to the Developer. I am not endorsed with the development/developer nor do I hold responsible for your phone being a toaster

If you guys are on 4.2.2, it would make since if it was a gpe rom, as gpe was somehow compatible with 4.2.2 safestrap. If I remember correctly, someone said that the differences between the kernels was negligible and could boot with the tw kernel.
I would say its safe to assume that its actual AOSP seeing that it uses the CM kernel source (or at links to it on the OP), however, there are no accounts in the thread of the rom cook saying that it is AOSP, only other posters.
Haven't tried to download it yet, but I'm going to convince myself that you guys are just pulling a sick April fools prank.

Well so far it's AOSP ROM. It has pure android, the weight of the zip is so light and if. And yes, A Dev did say it wasn't compatible with any AOSP ROM's. But I found a ROM that works! I'll post some screen shots of the AOSP ROM. And if it says AT&T its because I have a Straight Talk Sim Card in it.
So far people are eager with this. If we can get more people's attention we can probably get Hashcode to see what's making this ROM work on AOSP

Which AOSP ROM?

I'm on MDK and I've never tried a non-touchwiz ROM. I want to now. I'd appreciate if you guys could tell me what the most popular / mainstream / well developed AOSP ROM is for the Verizon s4. I think I'd like to start my AOSP journey there.
Also, are the current crop of AOSP ROM fully functional? Or are there still some features of the S4 that aren't supported?
Thanks in advance.

Think I answered you in another thread about this topic but.. Try Mahdi, C ROM , Liquid Smooth, AICP ... They've all treated me well. They'll all run differently though for people so you'll just have to flash away and report back in their threads. Also I highly recommend using KToonsez AOSP-Kit Kat kernel with those. It's been nothing but stable for me.

I thought AICP couldn't be used with Safestrap? I'm about to downgrade from 4.4.2 so I can root my phone but from everything I've seen you have to use safestrap to do so... which would effectively destroy being able to use AICP.

1. Yes, this is a true unlock. There is no other unlock mechanism on these phones. This is not a work-around, and calling it as such implies that there is any alternate method to use.
2. As for bricking, unfortunately we can't be held responsible for people that haven't done the legwork to verify that what they're doing is safe. We (Team Codefire) never released any mods for the G3 variants that were not unlocked in an effort to do our side of the responsibility to not make it easy for people to accidentally brick their phones. Now that recovery is released, if the end user does not ensure that TWRP functions on their device and ends up getting it in a state where the stock rom does not boot - this is 100% their problem as we were careful to ensure that all the information an informed user needs to make this work on their phones is out there.
2a. Regarding CrossDL, we actually will have a workaround for that here soon. As long as people don't touch their LAF or Factory partitions we can unbrick them from almost anything short of them editing sbl/rpm/tz partitions (which nobody should ever be doing!)
So are you implying boot loader is unlocked? Because this is similar to Loki like on the g2

No, you will not need to ensure your firmware version matches exactly with the ROM you have. You will only need to make sure that the ROM you downloaded is compatible with your carrier.

It's already been started by the devs that roms AND kernels will be able to be flashed as long as they are bump compatible. So yes there will be custom kernels.
As already stated here, and in other threads as well as the official Bump thread by the developers themselves, this has unlocked our bootloader. We are essentially free to flash ROMs, kernels, and other mods (provided they've been Bumped) as if this were a Nexus device. The past couple days have been a fantastic turn of events for our lovely device.
Now, am I the only one constantly checking the development threads hoping for one that has [ROM] in its title? I know we're probably weeks away, but I can't contain myself. I'll gladly donate $50 to the first developer who brings us a fully functional AOSP ROM.

Some devs were given the bump api early so they could get to working on ROM's.
There is a working CM with bugs in the works and should be released probably around the same time the bump api is released.
People are talking something as long as the developer "bumped, bumps" roms and kernels, what does that exactly means?

so does anyone have anything to test yet. I am itching. I preordered a note 4 the other day now I am thinking I will be cancelling that

True unlock last time I checked the arthor of that did not have anything to do with it. Idk what makes them think its a workaround.
That's like LG saying thats an LG G3 & and your telling them no it's a fake (clone)
Who are you going to believe
Anyways it don't matter it's unlocked why are you stressing it so much? Lol
