Hi,can someone recommend me a ROM does have a great camera app and powerful enough to skip mkv video file.
In my current ROM ,I have crappy camera app and for example if I'm watching a video(mkv file) I try to skip to my preferred minute , it's only skip 30 sec forward.
Thanks.
Postscript:I forgot to mention that when I copy mkv file to my phone (It's in Portable Devices group) so I got this message :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
One of the advantages of this phone is that he can run mkv file perfectly.Why I get this message?
Someone????
"camera app" has nothing to do with media playback. If you're referring to stock media player on the phone, you can try other media apps from market , "mVideoplayer" "moboplayer" "diceplayer" those three are pretty good.
As for skipping forward it might be video you're playing is poorly encoded , i see you trying to play 1080p video, HD videos will be more picky then SD when it comes to playback.
But why I keep getting this message?

Go to Settings -> Applications -> Development and enable USB debugging. Then, connect your phone to your computer, pull down the notifications panel, and select USB mass storage. Click "Turn on USB mass storage", and your phone should now be mounted as a mass storage device. You can now freely copy the file you wanted to your phone.
Is the algorithm different for generating an animated thumbnail or something? I have several 1080p mkv file with the following:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

I'm not exactly sure about the video stream, but the specs for the phone do say that it supports mp4:
- MP4/DivX/XviD/WMV/H.264/H.263 player
- MP3/WAV/eAAC+/AC3/FLAC player
Is this a subtype of mp4 that the hardware decoder doesn't support or something? The stock player is able to generate animated thumbnails for all the video files that I have, but it refuses to play the video (audio only). Can anyone shed some light on this?
Same problem here. Most mp4/H264 play fine, but there are a few that don't produce any audio with H/W decoding. MX Player's s/w decoder does produce the video but there's some artifacting.

My audio is fine; it's just the video.
Its the cpu. The Exynos processor can decode more video codecs natively. The S4 not so much. I still have my Exynos Galaxy s2. The same video that will not play on the Galaxy S3 will play on my Galaxy S2.
On the MX player if it says s/w decode, it means the cpu cannot not decode it natively.
You can also try the Dice Player. It sometimes can use hardware decoding too where the MX player would require s/w decoding.
hi all
got alot of movies .rmvb , searching about media player support rmvb and play well because iv tried advanced media player and wait and wait and wait its not working so i uninstall it , tried mx player too but its not support rmvb i know well about converter thats the only solution i found , convert vedios be4 transfer it to my note but is there any way to play rmvb ?
Real media is a long dead format in most of the world. Convert to something more usable, or re-download. You'll be hard pressed to find anything in Android that'll touch it.
RMVB is not dead. In fact, it is still the most popular format in Asia. Face it, Asians do not have a habit of buying music or movies. Millions of Chinese websites have the latest movies and music available for download why bother to spend money on these things.Money should be spent on buying hardware only, not software nor electronic media - that is the mentality of many Asian (actually most)
Anyway, to answer OP's question, the best way to play RMVB is Rockplayer. MX Player doesn't work? It works for me but Rockplayer will work definitely.

Not tried it but. ..real player is available in play store and it plays rmvb files. .have you tried it. ?
handwritten from my note 2 (N7100)
There are plenty that play RMVB, just do a search ..

I downloaded MirrorEnabler.apk here in XDA and installed it and seems it is not compatible to our rooted HAM2, anyone able to make it work, share the L.
In the meantime I found a way to cast any video to Chromecast from our HAM2's browser.
First we need to download 2 apps (both are free):
-Firefox
-vCast
Now using the Firefox browser look for any video flash or mp4 as long at it plays on the Firefox browser it can be cast to Chromecast:
Like this one:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then play the video:
Then while video is playing, touch and hold the video:
After that this menu will pop up and touch the one I pointed:
Before choosing vCast make sure your TV is on and is on the Chromecast :
let the video plays a bit on vCast then you can exit or pause the video that is playing on your Firefox browser, remember we played it a while ago. After that when the video is on your chromecast you can turn off firefox or exit it.
For some reason sometimes I tried exiting vCast it still plays on the chromecast, some times it doesn't.
By the way make sure you go to settings>power saving>protected apps>put a shade on the circle beside the vCast app.
I am still testing this so if you found a bug let me know so I can edit the guide.
