[Q] d620 vs. d620r - LG G2 Mini

What are the differences between D620 and D620r ?
And if I have D620, can i unlock bootloader with this method ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/g2-mini/development/bootloader-unlock-t2827748
Las one. Will be here some step by step tutorial how to unlock the D620 phone?
Thank you very much

Is your D620 branded? If so, your carrier may have removed the 'r' on software level, meaning that the hardware may be D620r.
Either way, the BL unlock method should work.

Ok thank you ...and what about that step by step unlock? can anyone please do it?

If you don't understand it, then perhaps you shouldn't do it

I think, that i will wait for another method and for more ROMs ...but thank you ...

I have branded D620, and in hardware information it says "D620". As Vagelis1608 says, it may be d620r, but who knows. Anyway, this method successfully unlocked my BL.
Unlocking isn't that hard, just read every step carefully, and inform yourself about steps you don't understand. When you're sure in what you're doing, then unlock it.

No. Only D625 needs a different method.
BTW, I thought that in Greece we only have D620r. Where did you get a D620fr?

Here in Greece, we don't have LTE, so no 4G (with this phone)
((Some carriers advertise that they have 4G, but their's only works on few phones)

In order for 4G to work on this phone, your provider has to support LTE.
In my case (Cosmote GR) only supports GSM.

Hi guys, I have a g2 mini 620r model and I only have 2.6gb user usable? What the heck? Internal storage is reported as 3.87gb and I only have 2.6 free from the start. How is yours? Thanks.

You probably have installed a big game or two which are taking up your memory.
Or, if your phone is branded, then your carrier may have pre-installed a lot [email protected] on it.

It's new. I did not installed anything. Also I only have a couple of apps. Not many. How much of free space do you have. I'm afraid there's something wrong with it…

What is your internal storage reporing? Mine is reporting that I have 3.87gb storage, aprox 500mb apps and 2.6gb free usable. 500mb of apps and I did not installed any apps. What the heck...

He can try it.
The worst he can get is a soft brick which can be fixed by flashing his device's KDZ.

Hi Vangelis1608,
I found this site that provides all the stock firmwares of lg g2 mini variants. I have the d620r. As i read in the other post the d620/r/fr are carrier's games. I bought one from a shop here in Greece (From Arta) that imports g2 minis from italy. The carrier is TIM. So i want to install the stock lg firmware without all the [email protected] that tim has installed. In your opinion which one should i install the NEU or the ITA/Italy? I wont brick it right?
I want to add that i removed as many tim apps and the boot animation that tim added after rooting it. But after 2 months apps crash and i lose app icons. Thats why i want to instal the stock rom.
Thanks for your time

NEU.
If you check the list, under Italy, TIM is for D620R which also confirms my previous assumption that D620fr is, in fact, D620r in hardware and that the 'fr' is only on software level. This also implies that all variants starting with 'D620' are the D620R and simply they are branded, to 'scare' people so that they won't flash the unbranded firmware.
As a result, flashing stock firmware (for D620R) on any D620xx variant will only remove the [email protected] restrictions placed by carriers (TIM, in your case) and will not brick the device.

[Q] HELP! Fix hard-lock?

I recently bought an unlocked LG G2 mini from the LG store on Amazon, and to my horror, it wasn't exactly unlocked. I tried to input an unlock code via dialing 2945#*618# but when I get to the SIM unlock process page and click any of the options (Network lock, Service provider Lock, NetworkSubset lock, Corporate lock or SIM/USIM lock) all say the same thing: "This phone is permanently locked and cannot be unlocked." The network carrier is marked 'unknown' and I'm trying to use it with a T-mobile SIM card. Is there anything I can do??
Thanks in advance,
Cat

Vagelis which one is the best? Do you know the difference between italy 10g and 10j? Actually as long as they can both be rooted does not really matter.

No Mobile Data

Hi (sorry for my english) I have LS990 device unlocked for a mexican carrier but no mobile data working
can someone help me with this?? :crying:
Most likely you will need the APNs from your carrier. Manually enter them, reboot, should be good to go.

How'd you unlock it? That maybe why, also check what types of bands your carrier(s) uses they maybe not be compatible with this phone. Here is a list of all supported networks (according to LG): GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, UMTS 850/1900/2100, LTE Bands 25/26/41

Honestley anything by my team member @ki11aprime check the Android Develoment page

Now we have root for T-Mobile variant

Will the amount of development improve for the G5 in general for all variants?
I believe so, yes
What I'm wondering is how similar the Canadian model is to it. Or how much difference between the h831 and h830 there really could be.

pretty much the same in hardware.. but the entire bootstack is different. what works for tmobile would not work for H831. H831 is in the same boat as the ATT, Verizon and other locked variants. not possible to use the tmobile bootstack on non-tmo phones either.

for EU H850 devices that do not pass through LG's Bootloader Unlock Developer page... the only hope is for you all to contact LG and continuing to contact/complain until they either give you a valid reason why some H850 EU variants do not work when 95% of them do... and hopefully they will add your variant/buyer-type to the unlock program officially.
