[Q] HELP! Fix hard-lock? - LG G2 Mini

I recently bought an unlocked LG G2 mini from the LG store on Amazon, and to my horror, it wasn't exactly unlocked. I tried to input an unlock code via dialing 2945#*618# but when I get to the SIM unlock process page and click any of the options (Network lock, Service provider Lock, NetworkSubset lock, Corporate lock or SIM/USIM lock) all say the same thing: "This phone is permanently locked and cannot be unlocked." The network carrier is marked 'unknown' and I'm trying to use it with a T-mobile SIM card. Is there anything I can do??
Thanks in advance,
Cat

Vagelis which one is the best? Do you know the difference between italy 10g and 10j? Actually as long as they can both be rooted does not really matter.

Yes, you can update, and it'll still accept the non-Verizon SIM. I've seen no indication that Verizon wants to sim-lock these phones.

LG go to hell . where's the damn bootloader??

**** that
I really hoped i did not buy this ****en phone
I cant even go to bootloader screen to unlock the ****en bootloader

What the **** lg ?
????
Maybe it's not LGs fault at all. I suspect that those phones which cannot boot into fastboot mode were not meant to be sold in Europe but somehow found their to a European dealer. Therefore some internal flag might prevent those phones from booting into bootloader / fastboot mode.
You can get some information about your phone via the IMEI if you check it for example via this page. I tried it and got the information that the carrier of my phone, which I expect to be the original country for sale, is in fact Romania though I bought it via a german dealer.
Here some information I got about my phone:
Code:
Location Code: N
Network Code: ROM
Carrier: ROMANIA
If the information about your phone shows anything but a European country as carrier (and unlock for french phones also does not work) this could be the reason why you can't boot into bootloader/fastboot mode though you have a H960A. In that case you need to blame your dealer.

just updated my phone to
H960A20a_00_0316.kdz

OK, but that does not necessarily mean that you can actually unlock the bootloader. If you IMEI is not registered for a European phone you will not get the unlock.bin from. LG.

That's probably because you have the H962 (Dual Sim). It seems LG does not assign those to specific countries.

Can the H820pr firmware be flashed to the h820 at&t phone?

OK what I mean is can it be done successfully (porting, etc.)? I want the wifi tethering (aka hotspot) feature that exist on all international variants of the phones, not locked by the stupid US carriers trying to rip-off it's customers by making you pay again for the same data you already purchased.

Do you have Att though? I think he's referring to using the att model on another network like I am doing as well. I'm using on tmobile and some users report, after having to edit system configs to be able to even turn on hotspot without an error, that they don't have any data once connected.

Hi, send a private message, i can tell you about that
Hello Guys,
I can't see how could be possible to download a "Porto Rico" (H820PR) software in ATT version.
Normally, Bootloader checks if region code matches before flash.
Could you please explain more about this procedure?
Thanks for supporting our community!

Its not more of the bootloader, but Antirollback. This works perfectly on older LG's like the G2, G3, G Pro, etc.

"Factory Unlocked Phones are not made for a specific carrier thus are unlocked out the factory. These phones can be used on ANY GSM carrier as long as the phone carriers the band widths that carrier supports."
In simple words yes It should work with no problems. However It depends on band widths your carrier supports.
About software updates you will receive everything. Don't worry

Depends....every carrier releases at different times. If you want to stay updated the fastest. Then download and flash who ever comes first then change the CSC to your preference.

Not sure about now, but few years back I changed the CSC of my device to make it detect the SIM card. It wasn't from the USA though.
The option you're referring to is now housed in Preconfig.
MPS CODE.
Enable it....to prevent your CSC from changing over when you put in any sim card. Disable it and it will always change.
