Thank you bonuzzz and Valera1978. This OmniROM directly built from source is out of the box the smoothest and reactive ROM I've seen on the T-900, and it's also fully Open Source AOSP. I have been fortunate to run this version in alpha and beta over the past 4 or 5 days and I have not seen any extraordinary issues with the release., on the contrary it's the most reactive ROM currently existing for the T-900.
Note for v.2 - Be very patient in flashing v2, from that system format starts in TWRP until extraction kicks in there's currently a delay of up to 3 minutes
Just as under the SM-T900 cm11 tread, I have performed some functionality testing of the device and some extra features, they are shown below as working, not working or not tested. The functionality grid was developed based on weaknesses in earlier AOSP builds and ports for the large format Samsung Tab/Note Pro family:
- mtp - to activate go to Settings/About tablet/ and tap 8 times on Build number - The menu will now have Settings/{ } Developer options/ activated. Check mark USB debugging notify.
- adb
- External SD - working out of the box
- Ext4 SD card mounting on external SD card - Unfortunately, I don't have a free SD Card to test with, if someone is interested in performing the test and report back it would be great, but theoretically it should work
- USB OTG including USB storage
- Off-mode charging
- Encryption - failed restoration of encrypted backup data in TWRP 2.8.1.1, but this must be a TWRP issue - Encryption process in ROM takes about an hour to perform, if someone is interested in performing the test and report back it would be great, but theoretically it should work
-----------------------------------------
- Lid sensor
- IR blaster - I've used IR2.0
- OC settings - located in Settings/Performance/ if you swipe right between the grids a"power menu" is shown where a multitude of performance settings and information is available, most of them currently not used.
- Advanced reboot - to activate go to Settings/About tablet/ and tap 8 times on Build number - The menu will now have Settings/{ } Developer options/. Check mark Advanced reboot.
- Screen Rotation only seem to react if the app has a default setting. You can use the Set Orientation, or the Ultimate Rotation Control app to pick the rotation you desire.
-----------------------------------------
- Play Store
- Google Play movies download and playback
- Google Play streaming Movies & TV
- DRM - tested with Audible, Google Books and Amazon Kindle
-----------------------------------------
- Zona
- Popcorn Time - need upgrade to latest version 2.3 beta, includes built-in VPN and Chromecast support with subtitles, earlier version timed out
- YouTube 1080p playback - 1440p will work w. v5.9.0.12, but I believe this to be a false positive
- Netflix
-----------------------------------------
- Chromecast with #MirrorEnabler hack, allowing for screen cast
- MHL connector
- Miracast
-----------------------------------------
- Capacitive lights - I assume this is the backlights for the capacitive buttons
- Capacitive keys
- Home button - correct function performed
- Brightness manual + auto
- Vibrator
-----------------------------------------
- GPS lock and voice directed navigation
- WiFi both 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz are working
- Bluetooth
- Microphone
- Audio on both speakers
- Headphones
-----------------------------------------
- Camera - in progress the camera "works", but does not allow for single shots to be taken, and crashes in video mode, but panorama shots are working
- Torch as of v2
- Camera Sensors as of v2
-----------------------------------------
- Xposed Framework and modules - need re-initialization after each boot (common to all cm ROM's)
- Superuser - installation of SuperSU from TWRP is recommended - make sure to enter into SuperSU settings and execute "Install SuperSU backup script", under the CUSTOM ROM label, before re-flashing a ROM update.
- Hangouts Dialer phone calls via Hangouts
-----------------------------------------
All fixes are in progress and will hopefully be sorted out in the new upcoming release
The following are standard limitations and options for OmniROM:
Write access to your external SD-card works out of the box, but just in case i suggest to d/l JRummy's SD KitKat Fixer
init.d support also works out of the box, otherwise d/l Uni-init by Ryuinferno.
If you think to much heat is building up use Performance/Governor set to ondemand, or conservative and I/O Schedduler to bfq, in addition to increase battery time you can set Wi-Fi/Advanced/Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep/ to Only when plugged in and make sure the Wi-Fi/Advanced/Wi-Fi optimization/ is checked and reduce Display/Sleep/ to below 1 minute. You can also use some apps to improve battery eg Easy Battery Saver, or the more sophisticated AutoCon+ Save Battery & Data and and to put hanging apps to hibernation Greenify that I believe require Xposed Installer. To improve charging time, you can use an app eg Faster Charger. Finally, I have also used PurePerformances in order to further improve the performances and VIPER4AndroidFX to allow for louder speaker sound and enhanced listening experience.

new version is released. sensors are fixed. camera is not working yet

I have read about, and been curious about, omnirom for a long time now. I love this tab smt 900 but have not had a lot of luck with development so far. I am a tinkerer, i like to flash a rom, tweak to my satisfaction and run it for a long time. I will stay here for a few days to see if it gains speed and these issues are fixed. If so, it looks like a great daily driver. Currently running the cm build that @arcadia2uk helped with. THANK YOU ALL for your efforts and contributions so people like me can have so much fun. Looking forward to it.

Personally, I'm using XHaloFloatingWindow together with Floatifications and it works very well in landscape mode (I have not tried in portrait).

That is the exact setup I am using on the SM T900. XHalo and Floatifications. It is close to halo on PA. I am on the cm 11 ROM but I am confident the ROM is irrelevant as to functionality.

I'm a huge fan of OmniROM and very happy to have it on my T900.
I'm shocked this project hasn't gathered more interest, CM is becoming convoluted while Omni, strictly IMHO, is generally a lighter/cleaner ROM.

Good question... There is nothing to release. Onmi L is very unstable for this tab because it doesn't have support of exynos platform. I dont have enough time and patience to port everything to omni. So I recommend to take a look to CM11.

@bonuzzz
Man, I'm sorry to hear you say that.
I'm running Omni on my T900 and love it. Everything runs fine for me. The only problem I run into, frequently, is the sensor issue. Basically I can't get the screen-rotation working with any consistency. Every now and then I can play with display auto-rotate settings (disabling, running an app while in a certain orientation, then enabling auto-rotate again .. things like this) that will prompt a rotation. However, 95% of the time I can't get the screen to rotate.
Other than that, I have zero problems with your port to the T900. It would be great if you would stick it out, it's a great alternative to CM!
Thanks again!

I have been thinking about trying this OmniROM instead of CM12...the only thing holding me back is the lack of camera.

That is good news. From page 1 it states backlight & camera not working. In this case, will give it a test run. Sounds like fun & thanks!:good:
P.S. Isn't the T900 the SWEETEST tablet you have ever put your hands on?!?!?

Reporting back...
Hi,
I installed OmniROM and was immediately pleased with 1 thing in particular...OmniROM's brightness level (on the brightest level), seemed to be brighter than CM12. I liked the status bar mods (network in / out counters), date / time mods but would nice to be able to adjust colors indepently and also support theming. The camera works fine. I do have issues with auto rotation and hard keys backlight don't illuminate. Other than these 2 items, the ROM boots very fast, stable & responsive. Great job & will keep an eye out for updates. I am happy to be a test / data point and will be running OmniROM as my daily driver for the time being.
Kind Regards,
Jason Vincent

Any reason why T320 is not have this ROM? Its Snapdragon based so I would have thought it would be easier.

The camera stopped working for me or perhaps wasn't working fully before. Any chance on an update that will fix camera?

Appreciate it...

Appreciate the tip.
I actually went back to CM12 but miss a lot of things about OmniROM. I am rather surprised there are not more custom ROMs available in general for the Tab Pro 12.2" (SM-T900) [Beanstalk, Slim, PAC, etc.]. You would think there would be given the greatness of this tablet regarding size and performance. I keep patiently hoping and waiting with optimism.

[DEV][psyke83] CyanogenMod 9 - Galaxy5 Port

CyanogenMod 9 Galaxy 5 Port [psyke83 build]
Latest release: 20120605 [v0.4] <--- learn what "RTFM" means before embarrassing yourself ಠ_ಠ
Latest Google Apps package: gapps-ics-small-20120429 <--- you must only use my custom "gapps-ics-small" package, as the standard releases will be too large to fit on our device. Don't try to use a gingerbread version either.
Hey folks,
This is a port of CyanogenMod 9, a community-developed Android ROM based on Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4, for the Samsung Galaxy 5 I5500 (Europa) phone. The current port status is alpha (not recommended for everyday use). See post #2 to see the most up-to-date ROM status.
Special thanks to Motafoca for starting CyanogenMod development, DrMacinyasha for the hosting, OuNao for the fake dual-touch module, sensor work and general assistance, mikereidis (author of Spirit FM Radio app) for helping with FM audio issues, tilal6991 for his work on CM9 for Huawei, alanorth for being a badass, and of course, thanks to all of you for testing!
Pre-requisites:
Visit the Basebands thread and make sure that you are using a baseband that is recommended for CyanogenMod. If you are still using an Eclair ROM, you must update your baseband or you will experience boot loops.
Visit the ClockworkMod thread and install the latest ClockworkMod build via Odin.
Install the GooManager or MAD Manager application from the Google Play store... or, download the ROM manually via PC using the link that you will find after RTFM'ing.
Installation (first time/new users):
Open the GooManager application.
Navigate to psyke83 -> roms -> galaxy5.
Click on the build you wish to install from the list.
Click on the Download button to download the rom.
Once the download(s) are complete, reboot into recovery and install the update package, followed by the Google Apps package.
Important: if you are updating from a stock ROM, CM7 or any other ROM that is not my personal CM9 build, choose the data wipe option before rebooting!
Latest Changelog:
20120605 [v0.4]
md5: 8d85095380f1106c883a86c2ea8fc457
Update CyanogenMod source
Switched to new kgsl driver & Adreno ICS libraries. This resolves the image corruption issues seen in v0.3, but the kernel drivers may not yet be fully stable. Needs more testing.
Basic camera functionality: preview & taking snapshots work properly. Barcode scanners show preview but do not recognise barcode. Camcorder preview works normally, but recorded video will be corrupt (due to encoders).
20120602 [v0.3] [rebuilt - check md5sum]
md5: 59e44aa9d0424d7835587556e3f4adb5
Update CyanogenMod source
Full HWA (hardware acceleration) enabled
Enable hardware acceleration support in Trebuchet
Enable "force GPU rendering" option by default (allows more apps to use HWA)
Fix & enable window & transition animations (1x) - now completely smooth
Fix a small bug caused by compcache that prevented userinit.d scripts (such as simple2ext) from executing
Ensure that userinit.d folder is created if needed
Adjust lockscreen layout so that the lockscreen weather widget doesn't cause lockscreen buttons to be obscured.
20120527 [v0.2]
md5: 1be4cbefec95259f292aeb5d4080d25d
Known issue: If simple2ext fails, it's because the /data/local/userinit.d folder doesn't exist. To workaround this issue, run su and then "madconfig blah" ("blah" doesn't really do anything, but by coincidence the madconfig script always creates the userinit.d folder when parsing any option).
Known issue: Apollo doesn't associate with .mp3 files properly yet. Install the old Music app (to /system/app or simply by installing as a user app): http://goo.im/devs/psyke83/roms/Music.apk
kernel: backported xt_quota2, xt_qtaguid, iface_stat drivers to allow proper networking stats and prevent recurring framework crashes
libaudio: fix for wrong microphone being used during calls, added audio attenuation support (enabled on speaker), added Samsung extamp filtering support to fix distortion in FM audio & headset in-call audio. Added new system property that lets users disable extamp filtering if wanted (no extamp filtering + 0db attenuation on speaker = identical audio volume to v0.1 release's audio)
boot: remove corrupted initlogo that was displayed before bootanim started (no longer needed)
framework: fixed cpu deep sleep issue that was caused by wakelock in hs serial device (Bluetooth quick switch) - should drastically improve battery life (may now be similar to CM7)
framework: optimizations to 2D rendering speed
framework: disable UI touch sounds (was just slowing down presses + increasing battery drain)
switch from old Music app to new Apollo music player
add VoiceDialer, SoundRecorder
Trebuchet: change drawer animation back to default (looks nicer, no change in performance)
fix simple2ext compatibility issue. Note: you will need to enable the "mount as ext4" option in the app settings, as CM9 does not auto-mount /sd-ext on boot.
wifi: change wpa_supplicant driver from wext to ar6000
increase VM heap to 32MB - should reduce ANRs
fix for keypad layout not following orientation changes
20120525 [v0.1]
md5: 530a2bc7a7a53d7ef0764561ba9675ad
Initial build, based on Huawei U8160 ICS source base.
Using codeaurora_gio2europa kernel (same source as CM7)
Confirmed working: 2D, 3D, wireless, BT & BT tether, touchscreen (including fake dual-touch), sensors, lights, SD card & mass storage, all telephony, audio, MAC addresses for BT & wireless, compcache, swap (disabled by default), GPS
Confirmed broken: camera/video recorder, USB tethering, wireless hotspot, FM, video codecs (Youtube HQ, etc.), battery drains (most likely).
Added CM7's File Manager, since CM9 doesn't yet have one.
Supports GooManager and Mad Manager downloads & OTA updates.
Source Code:
Kernel: https://github.com/psyke83/kernel_samsung_gio2europa
Device: https://github.com/psyke83/android_device_samsung_galaxy5
Goo.im ROM folders:
roms/galaxy5
roms/gapps
Current status (20120605 / v0.4):
Working:
Full HWA (hardware acceleration) using ICS Adreno libraries & new kgsl kernel drivers
Camera - basic functionality
Audio
Telephony - calling, messaging, mobiledata
Touchscreen - including OuNao's fake dual-touch, configurable via madconfig
Bluetooth & Bluetooth tethering
Wireless
Correct MAC addreses for BT & WiFi
SD card & USB mass storage
Lights
Sensors - via OuNao's g5sensord and sensor library, which means no lag in games, etc.
Compcache & swap - the latter available via madconfig, but disabled by default
GPS
Good battery backup (needs more testing to be sure)
Not working / todo:
Bluetooth prevents deep sleep - do not leave enabled when you have no need to use it
Camera - barcode scanner - preview works, but barcodes not recognised
Camcorder - works, but doesn't encode video properly
USB & Wifi Tethering - you may be able to use third-party replacements
FM Radio - no CM9 radio app yet exists, but Spirit FM may work
Video acceleration - video decoders will use software rendering, which uses more battery, and is too slow for HQ video playback.
Useful commands:
Note: make sure you are superuser by typing 'su' in terminal before running any command.
Enable swap (disabled by default): madconfig swapon
Disable swap: madconfig swapoff
Enable fake dual-touch (disabled by default): madconfig dton
Disable fake dual-touch: madconfig dtoff
Audio driver customization - replace X with desired value explained for each entry:
Code:
Samsung extamp filter - X is bool value (0 = off, 1 = on)
setprop persist.sys.extamp-filter X [default 0]
Attenuation properties - X is value in decibels
setprop persist.sys.speaker-attn X [default 6]
setprop persist.sys.headset-attn X * [default 0]
setprop persist.sys.fm-attn X [default 0]
* Attenuation of audio on the headset does not work when in-call.
Only the Samsung extamp filter can reduce the volume for headset calls.

Hi ppl!
I updated from version 7 mostly because I needed the the new sip features, but in this new version 9, on Internet calls, now we don't have the option to change the user agent anymore, therefore I cannot make calls using my mobile phone account anymore ((((
Why did the Devs took of this feature from CyanogenMOD, does anyone knows??
Thank you, but it is very important for me, or else I have to go back to version 7

Any major fixes ?
Few suggestions for psyke83
Hello psyke, I've got a suggestion for you.
To make more free space on the NAND, you could delete out "Speech Recorder" from the ROM. It's useless.
And, could you add all the languages which are in CM7 to stock keyboard?
Because now CM9's keyboard hasn't got Lithuanian-specific letters, such as ą, č, ę, ė, į, š, ų, ū and ž.
Can you include in this ROM the Mount2SD script?! (link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342387). That is a well update script and in the CM9 porting for the Google Nexus One has a great integration in Optitions -> Performances -> MountwSD

Paranoid Android 3.69
Latest version: July 30
Description
Paranoid Android 3.69 for Sony Xperia Ray.
This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode.
This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually.
Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course.
Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on.
This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.
Now for every element that you like chose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size.
You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to.
You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot.
You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode.
Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself.
This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

is it stable for daily use? just like taking a picture, instagraming , or line with friends?
thanks i gitta try it
WOW!! I always wanted the latest PA ROM for our Ray. Thank you thomas1991_12.
gellery, camera FC ... no music app :/
this is what i've been waiting for! i believe that one day you will come and bring some surprise, this is it! this is the day! thanks
if i use FlyKernel 3 this rom works or not? i prefer Flykernel than nAa's kernel
Flykernel 3 may work not 100% sure. But NaA kernel has been updated more. I would suggest that.
Camera works here, so does gallery. (only stretched in 8mp mode, 6mp is normal). Try clearing data in settings->app).
There is no music app yet, im trying to keep it as light as possible, but ill consider adding a default one.

yes gallery and camera working now somehow
wifi seems fine too ... maybe i will install apollo music player, and some file manager too.
one more problem: its not showing content of sd card when i connect mobile to pc.
This has probably been the lightest ROM I have installed yet. Very impressed with the performance without having to OC although I have done so out of habit. I am using Mike's kernel from his 10.1 ROM and I tried both releases of this ROM from the past two days last night.
Wi-Fi has not worked on either ROM version while using Mike's kernel and I even tried the emulator but it said that the wifi file could not be loaded. In your new update from last night there is NO emulator installed! :silly: I am not familiar with using ADB so cannot comment.
The camera has been the best 4.2 camera of any ROM. Preview is normal, menus all work and HDR doesn't cause a FC.....kinda haha. On your original release HDR would take its necessary three shots and then after some processing save a singular compiled image. The newest release 20130701 saves all three images and after processing saves a fourth that is grey and cannot be viewed. This also caused a force close once but after that it hasn't.
Video recording is a bit different since it doesn't provide quality settings based on resolution but on quality (480p, 720p vs low, medium, high). With the setting on High quality I took a short video and didn't have any problems when it saved it and then replaying the clip.
I prefer that you set the Nexus wallpaper as default as opposed to a CM wallpaper like on the latest release. Due to not having Wi-Fi access I was unable to download any apps since I currently have no 3G Data allowance on the test SIM. My primary SIM is in my other phone and is a micro-SIM so won't fit in the Ray. I could not test audio playback as unable to download a player at this time.
I'd like to recommend that the stock browser be included in the ROM as it is a light browser works very well and can be removed if someone would rather use Chrome or Opera.
I apologise for the long and wordy post. Sometimes hard to be concise while providing as much detail as possible. I will update my feedback as I test more features.
Thank you for what looks like a VERY promising and exciting ROM :good:

Thank you for testing. Emulator will be included in next release, i forgot the CM packages with the july 1 release
Wifi does work but only when you load wifiload manually, im trying to fix that as we speak. (highest priority)
You are right about HDR, hadnt noticed that bug. Ill try to figure that one out too, but first wifi. Wallpaper is personal so I wont change the default one probably. How do you mean the stock browser? It is already included..
EDIT:
HDR is not a bug. It will fail if you don't hold the device very stable. If you keep it stable or in a tripod it will succeed and delete the 3 intermediate images and leave you with the hdr image.
WiFi worked for me with the included kernel. I had no sound when I played video.
I might have installed some modules ... Don't remember as I had to restore a back up and did not stay on the ROM for very long. Liked what I saw though

Sorry about the browser thing. I must be going blind since I seemed to have missed that icon!! It is there and was merely an oversight by me.
I tried testing HDR again as you said but still no luck. Even holding it against a table it would take the images and then camera force closed each time as it was processing the HDR image. I will test some more today and flash previous version. Maybe I can generate a logcat or something to document the issue.
UPDATE:
Using latest release and have found the following:
Wifi works perfectly now and I haven't noticed any signal drops or other related issues.
Camera HDR has the same issue but I tried something as a possible workaround. I bumped up the CPU to 1.4GHz OC and tested it out. On the very first release it managed to more consistently save the image without any FC's. This by simply holding the phone carefully and not stabilising it further with a table or some similar assistance. However on the newest release doing didn't quite work and I was not able to hold the phone still enough for it to save the final image.
Initially Google Now kept crashing but that was because it required updating although initially google voice search was not present under "My Apps" on the Play Store.
I downloaded Rocket Player and music sounds great. It used its own sound enhancer though so not sure if DSP is fully functional.
Bluetooth file sharing works but I do not own a headset to test connectivity.
Halo works great with some niggling nuances. Whatsapp is possibly not completely compatible because aside from responding to messages I cannot attach files like images through Halo. Need to open main app. Taking a screenshot gets recorded as an activity within Halo and as a result takes a little longer than expected to complete. Also it seems that the gallery does not update since after taking the screenshot I can not see the images. However if I take another and access the gallery through Halo I can see my recent screenshots all present.
Update 2:
Offline charging doesn't work as normal. When phone is turned off and I connect to charger the phone boots up fully into OS. Does not remain at kernel state with charging animation.

Thanks for extended test.
- HDR shows no errors (doesnt FC for me btw) and most of the times it succeeds when I tried if I hold it very still. I maybe will eventually look into it to see if I can improve that.
- Google Now does work, at least here. Maybe it was just the update thing. So no bug either if I understand correctly.
- Halo isn't something im going to mess with, it is exactly the same as in source PA. Im sure it has it limitations, but in general I find it very useful :cyclops:
- Offline charging does not work indeed. Hadn't noticed it, not a major issue I think but I will put it on bug list.
Thanks!
BTW: Im currently switching over kernel building to linaro 4.8 and im trying to fix the 8mp stretched camera.

Glad I could help. I don't need to worry about my phone working all the time since I got a new one so wanted to help development as much as I could.
HDR could be because I may have dropped the phone one too many times perhaps the phone is overly sensitive or something.
I love the usefulness of Halo definitely. Guess will just be patient and wait for future improvements by the PA team.
I haven't found a major bug as you said. You've done a great job and this can only get better. Keep it up! I look forward to testing further and good luck with updating the kernel

Sorry for a noob question but I don't have any idea how to set up HOLO ? it can't handle any of my notifications.
Also seems like the wifi tethering doesn't work for me.

For Halo check that you enabled it first. In the notification bar when you swipe it down there is a small icon next to the tiles button. A circle with a chat box on it. That turns Halo on. Halo settings can be found under the Settings within Toolbars I believe.

Notificiations should go to halo, like for example an incoming whatsapp message wil appear in the halo circle which can be touched and it will open whatsapp in a small overlay window.

Yes just as thomas1991_12 pointed out you need to receive a message or notification to occur for Halo to show up. Try taking a screenshot, I found that the notification that occurs from doing that triggers Halo.

[SHARE][ROM]{land} Cyanogenmod 13 with Nougat Design [2016/12/25]

First, I only share this rom from miui forum, to let you know about it and to tell you my experiences with this rom.
All credits go to O_dinochka from miui.com ->http://en.miui.com/thread-451310-1-1.html
So let's start:
He calls it a
CM14.1 MOD
in fact it is a CM13 rom from 21/12/2016 with Nougat theme preinstalled and Xposed Android N-ify.
So many people are asking for nougat roms the last days, so here you can get a little taste of nougat on a stable android 6.0 marshmallow base.
Bugs
Bugs that I experienced myself:
- goodix fingerprintsensor doesn't work ( I dont know about fpc, but I guess it works)
- long press volume button to skip tracks
- some overlay issue by starting the phone, when you have to enter your sim card pin (only sometimes, and its all functional)
Working
I'm running this now for more than 3 days, so thats my experience:
- Wifi
- mobile data
- phone calls (sound quality is good)
- Bluetooth
- IR Blaster
- photo and video recording works well (stock app, with sound working)
- Gesture or Knock knock unlock (via xposed)
- by the way: Xposed works well and is preinstalled
- CM Themes are working
- lowest screen brightness is really low, lower than on miui I think
- flashlight works
- battery is almost as good as miui ( I needed 25% battery for 13hours yesterday)
Screenshots & Downloads
MIUI Forum Link
Conclusion
So I have to say for a rom, which bases not on the released sources it works pretty well, I didnt expected that. I hope someone tries it to share their thoughts and experiences on this rom. for me it works pretty well as a daily driver, its sad that goodix fp doesnt work but for now I can live with that.
So excuse my bad english and enjoy flashing

And there are some people using this mod to fool people.
Let me show you what I did on CM13

I can't open the image. error 404. I know that it's only CM13 but for me it's more important that this rom works very well, the nice looking is a plus
I know that you can edit the build.prop if this is in the screenshot, but I think that's not what it's about with this rom.

I don't even edited the build.prop, I just used an Xposed module to change the words
I think the battery on this is very good for custom rom 36 hours and 60% battery left for about 2 days more... It's almost as good as miui and I just run with the standard settings no optimizations

To God be the glory, my AOKP NOUGAT project finally works!
This is not a dirty unicorn. This is the original unicorn, the AOKP. Now made out of Nougat! That's right, all of the AOKP stuff you love, plus LineageOS, plus a built in side bar, and more! All wrapped up into one! With tons of settings from status bar tweaks to button remaps, it's all here and ready to rumble!
**** This is an UNOFFICIAL ROM. Install at your own risk! ****
You must be on a 6.0.1 Bootloader with a 6.0.1 modem! I suggest if you are unsure, flash stock 6.0.1, then install this ROM!

Data Fix (For T-Mobile phones):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...ment/ril-data-fixes-6-0-1-bootloader-t3546110
However, the T-Mobile variant already has it's very own version of this rom in the T-Mobile thread! I did test this however, and it works.
Be sure to follow these installation steps very carefully, as they may be different then what you are used to.
Installation instructions:
-Put your phone on the 6.0.1 Bootloader and Modem
-Download ROM and gapps, and put them on your phone or external storage.
-Reboot into recovery mode - TWRP (I personally installed this using Mickey's 3.0.0-0).
-Backup what you had. (Just to be safe.)
-Wipe. (I personally wipe everything prior to flashing new roms, but at least do the basic wipe.)
-Install Rom.
-Install Gapps. - Optional
- If using the kernel, let the rom boot, then come back to recovery and flash the AKLU kernel.
- If using another variant, let the rom boot, then come back to recovery and flash a data zip.
-Reboot to system and enjoy!
I do not recommend installing superSU on this ROM! SU permission is already built in, and superSU has been causing problems with the rom. Please read the thread for further details.
What works :
Code:
+ Phone calls/receiving
+ Data 2g/3g/LTE
+ Bluetooth
+ WiFi
+ MTP
+ GPS/Glonass
+ S PEN
+ The WiFi hotspot does work with the AKLU kernel.
etc....
What doesn't :
Code:
- The edge panel is not implemented at this time. The screen wraps around the edge.
But there is an app bar feature under ROM CONTROLS!
- The capacitive buttons work, but do not illuminate.
- The WiFi hotspot does not work with the stock kernel, but does with the AKLU kernel.
- Fingerprint sensor is really flaky. I got it to work once with fingerprint scanner tools to turn on the flashlight, but only once. Most times it will not register.
- I have not found any big errors, fault crashes, or problems yet. Please let me know if you find an issue!
This AOKP N ROM was built for the tbltexx, the International Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. I have not tried this on any other device, but you are welcome to try it AT YOUR OWN RISK. You may need to edit the META-INF updater script to accomplish this. Note, this can flash directly to the T-Mobile variant, but the T-Mobile variant has it's own thread with this rom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...evelopment/rom-aokp-nougat-built-bar-t3558263

Background image:

The background images that I used in this ROM came from the Quiet Learner. You should check out his mathematical artwork, including 3D mandelbox images!
If the screen looks red-ish, check the settings->display->live display options, you may want to turn them off, it is a low light sensitive display option.
Data Zips: T-Mobile users with device model = unknown:
If you are using a N915T (like myself), the fix is very easy!
-Open /system/build.prop in any text editor
-Anywhere in the file, add this line:
Code:
ro.build.model=SM-N915T
Save and exit, then reboot your phone. You can check "about phone" under settings, you should see yourself as SM-N915T, and apps like XDA should report you as Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.
Apps:
Swiftkey Keyboard - This keyboard can be set so the keyboard does not wrap around the screen.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey
Spen Command - This app cost a few dollars, but enables the Spen to be somewhat smart again, rather than just a pointer stick.

If you find something else that will help other users, please let me know by posting in the thread!
Hey everyone!
The AKLU kernel is online for the AOKP 7.1.1 Nougat rom! It fixes the WiFi hot spot issue!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...droid-development/kernel-aklu-kernel-t3558419
20170217
- Fix WiFi hot spot error for Nougat.
- Overclocked the GPU from 600MHz to 633MHz
- Overclocked the CPU from 2649MHz to 2688MHz
- Added governors: Bioshock, Lionheart, Nightmare, Darkness

When u say built in sidebar what do u mean? And I would love to try it but I really want an overclocked kernel something like
2.9ghz or so with GPU overclocked to around 750-800. The reason being is that when I use the emotion kernel I get insane GPU scores, around 26,000 compared to the 19,000 range with the aokp kernel. If u could do that I would s**t my pants lol. I would do it but I can't seem to figure out how to build the kernel and since u upgraded to the new 6.0 bootloader does your kernel building guide got updates on that so I can at least give it a shot again?
Hi... this ROM is also compatible with the model Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular (SM-N915P, SM-N915V, SM-N915R4)?! Thanks!
come from rr 5.8
Hi i tested this rom now for a few hours and it runs very smooth. For the moment i did not find any issues.
Thanks for this nougat rom

By side bar app, I do not mean the "edge" panel, but with the popularity of edge style phones, the AOKP has implemented a type of panel that when you tap the curved edge of the screen, a pop out drawer of your selected apps shows on the edge area.
Yes well, my kernel is a bit more on the conservative side. But, as always, I do encourage everyone to start building, it's really fun and rewarding.
As for the build instructions, they are the same, just with the new material, so I will not be updating them at this time.

Good question. In a word, no. However, another user in the data zip thread (referenced in op) successfully used the data zip to flash an international ROM to his us cellular phone. You can read more about it there.

I installed the ROM yesterday. I came from the European/German Version MM 6.0 N915FYXXU1DPE1_DBT. I followed the instructions on the first post and had no problems. I installed the AKLU-Kernel, too.
There's no edge and the fingerprint works bad. Finally I'm only working with a PIN. But the ROM is fast, stable, slim and it runs very smooth. I hope, that the development of this ROM goes on.
Next I try the implemented edge-feature and the hint for SPen-using by a third-party app. And perhaps I'll format the sd-card as internal storage. But for that I need a better card.
Thank you very much for this great work. :good:

So I can build using the guide and it will be the 6.0 kernel source? Or the 7.1 source?

Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you like it. The edge is a Samsung propriety function that we cannot use.

Use the nougat source from my github to build the aklu kernel. I also recommend the 4.8 arm eabi toolchain.
When the lock screen wake up automatically to show a notification, the display is very dark. Is there a setting to change this?
Thank you
Apropos, the SPenCommand-app from post 1 is very good. Better than the original tool from Samsung itself.

I do not know for sure. You can try, but you may need to edit the updater-script.
Hope that helps!
Loaded up the TMO version and so far is running smooth with the exception of some weirdness around the back and recent apps hw buttons. They seem to be acting properly but are not lighting up. I went into ROM control and tried to adjust. Interestingly when I have the screen open for adjusting time on they do light up, but then go black again after closing the adjustment box. There is also no vibration when hitting those 2 buttons. Im not getting anything useful in the logs that I can see. I tried reflashing but no change in behavior. Any suggestions? Am I the only one seeing this?
By the way, this rom supports substratum (oms).
I tested the inversion ui theme successfully.
I can confirm, that the lights don't go.
Is the battery drain better with the original kernel from the rom? The AKLU kernel is fast and hungry.

Yes, I also see that only the red led and yellow led are working for notifications. I'll take a look at that later as well. Thanks for the feed back!
As for the kernel, the cm kernel is something I don't use much, so I am not too sure how it is on battery.
I too had a battery drain issue, but when I agent to the battery stats I saw that the phone was waking up all the time. I then realized that my email app, blue mail, was not optimized, nor was my freelab messenger, once I optimized those, the battery life improved. I do agree though, it could be better.
As I am sure you know, your settings, like in kernel adiutor, will have a significant impact on your battery. The default settings are aggressive.

Yes and read OP please.
This ROM is awesome. It is pretty stable too. The boot logo is not very appealing. I will keep using it. No bug so far.

I have found one issue, with the phone app. When I try to call someone it doesn't show the call being forwarded,so you can't end the call. And When I am called I can't pick up since there is no prompt for accepting or rejecting call. A problem with the Google dialer maybe.

I ve been using it since last night. receiving texts emails and phone calls, its worth the effort . its a lovely rom.
The battery is pretty terrible, it cant charge while playing, it was draining while charhing so fast, i ofc did a clean install, camera app fails a lot as well, and you cant set every live wallpaper from pixel wallpaper changer it force closes.. i hope in the future you can fix these the rom felt smooth until i started playing games and noticed it wasnt charging while playing..
Hi Dev.
I wiped my data and installed your rom. Everything was perfect. But the galaxy wearable app was force closing.
Could you please help me to solve this problem.
Best regards

Wait what XD. Never experienced this bug. Maybe a charging cable issue? Also, there are two cameras included. GCam isn't as stable as stock by a long shot, so use stock if GCam crashes too much.
Also abt Gear Wearable. Since I extensively debloated this ROM, it is possible I removed something that I shouldn't have. Not to worry, I will release an update next month (Not now because of exams)

Im back on my old 9.0 rom and everything is working just fine, i dont know what the issue was here, but ill check the update when its ready thanks!
Please add Adapt Sound feature if possible in a future build.
Fast, smooth and stable rom. But it has really bad battery usage. The older one(teampixel oreo) vas great at battery usage.
Also i can't find the "Power saving mode". There is no toggle in notification bar and i cant find a way to enable it in settings menu. Anyyone know is it possible to use Power saving mode on this rom?

Hello! The reason battery life was significantly better on Oreo was due to Oreo having a fully working Phantom Kernel! At this point, I'm just waiting for an update to that kernel, so that I can incorporate it, into the ROM, along with adapt sound, Dual Messenger, Gear 360 bug fix and Screen Write (Samsung Capture) since that it the only "useful" Note Feature that can't just be simply added back. I'll also be incorporating a few tweaks here and there to improve performance where possible! Keep an eye out for V1.1
