Lollipop compatible root apps? - Nexus 9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since most of the major root apps haven't been updated to work with 5.0 yet (xPosed, Titanium, etc), which apps are working?

So far I found only Root Browser to be working. This after testing Ad Block Plus and LMT Launcher in addition to Root Browser.

Really? I couldn't get it to load. It tries to download the hosts file and does nothing. Any thoughts?

thanks for this. I tried to update today and the installer was updated successfully however I'm not sure if that also updates the browser itself or only the installer. Do I have to Do something else to update it? I tried to remove it and install it again from the app but every time I try to uninstall it the app is Force closed.

This really needs the AOSP browser version that has the user agent string added into the normal settings menu (or about:debug always enabled) so that I can enable desktop mode by default! Mobile sites look horrid on the Nexus 10!
Otherwise this works great, thanks for the program!
Edit:
Install and works okay on my stock Nexus 10 with stock kernel
Boot loop on both my nexus 7 2012 and nexus 4 both stock but with franco kernel.
Had to do a factory reset to get out of it. Re-flashing the stock kernel doesn't fix it.
Perhaps you can test and let me know whether do you get the same result?
I have note 10.1 , I did install this app and run and it. It says asop browser installed. But I couldn't find it !!! Is it because my device is not supported ?

It's so because the Samsung Browser is based on the AOSP Browser and you must uninstall it first to install the AOSP.
Please if you want to do it backup your /system/app/Browser.apk to restore it if it doesn't work.

Some Questions

I recently rooted my Blu Advance phone using framaroot and installed supersu, tutanium backup, etc.
Ive seen on some websites to install cyanogen mod. Can someone tell me like the pros and cons of installing it? Are all apps compatible with it?
Another q, my phone has android 4.2.2...if an update is released, will irlt unroot my phone?
Thanks in advance

Well, since you rooted already, there's not really anything to lose by installing CM. You've already voided the warranty so you got nothing to lose! CM has lots of nice additional features. I have it on my Hisense Sero 7 Pro. I haven't seen any apps that are incompatible with it so I would say go for out!
In regards to your other question, It probably will not unroot your phone unless it is a very large update that changes system things like the binary. So I would say no.
I downloaded the cyanogen installer and ran it but it says the device is unsupported.
Is there anything else you recommend me to istall? I already have the big apps like greenify, titanium backup, and supersu

[Q] xposed installer won't install

I have just installed xposed installer but it shows the big red label the latest version is NOT active in the module section. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, master reset, several reboots, but nothing changes. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

Assuming that you are rooted, once you install Xposed, open the app, click on "Framework", Click Install/Update button, reboot. That should do. Else, confirm you've rooted properly and have latest busybox installed.

Have you actually installed Supersu? You may have 'rooted' using Root Tools etc but have you installed a root management app and installed the binaries?

Busybox Won't Install

This is my second New LG G3 and Busybox fails to install.
On my first G3 the install worked. Does anyone have any suggestions?
5 years and I've never had a problem installing busybox before.

You must have root.
If you have that, sacs and Barren have it built in.
I installed stericsons busybox from the PlayStore and has no issues prior to unlock.

Of course I have root, that's a given.
I don't want to flash a Rom.
I've already used that busybox and it force closes.
I am using JRummy's Busybox installer but it fails to install.

OK. Get a root checker from the Playstore and make sure root is right. That's the only reason I can think of.
And again, just another check box, do you have SuperSU and not Superuser? That's the root that's recommended by Stump.

Busybox says I'm rooted. I have plenty of working root apps. SuperSU Pro installed and updated binary. xposed module installed and working. So I don't have a root problem.
Like I said I've been doing this for 5yrs so I know what I'm doing. It's a problem I've never encountered before and I can't find anything thru Google either.
