Lenovo IdeaTab A10-70 - (First day with a Android device) - Help - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
I decided to buy a Lenovo tablet because I have a PS4 and want to make it Remote Play compatible - and the IdeaTab A10-70 is very cheap and with decent hardware, but here's my problem - CyanogenMod doesn't work with it.
It's absolutely a big downstep for me, cause Lenovo comes with a lot of Bloatware
I rooted the device with Kingo Root and TinyXP through Virtual Box - no problem at all - but after I rooted it, it won't update to 4.4.2 and halts every time I try.. I tried rolling back the root, but it still won't update.
Is there anyone who can help me? I'm feeling like I'm going in circles here, and there is no progress if I keep hitting walls

You will have to do a restore using the Lenovo assistant then the update should work.

Leagoo Alfa 4 User?

Hi there, I've saw some Leagoo smartphones users and dev threads over the xda-forum, but is anyone using and developing Leagoo Alfa 4 over xda? My new Alfa 4 is having some freaking problem now... Just bought it for two days and Leagoo service center is far far away from my house...
Yeah, my Leagoo Alfa 4 have freaking problem, lag. But good news is Alfa 4 is good for hacking... Trust me, just need root and hack tool.
Actually its hardware is quite good at its original price. For lag issue, you can try replace Leagoo launcher with other launcher. Leagoo Launcher eats lots of RAM. For me I'm using Xperia Home by Sony (From APKMIRROR)
Currently my Alfa 4 is at the service center, expect to get it back in 2 weeks time.

Root using KingRoot (mobile version not pc version) with Developer Options disabled in Settings.
Wifi hacking (WPS) penetration is possible with WifiPass at OnHax. Root required.
Clock reset problem solved manually. Reply whether any of you are having clock reset on boot issue and I'll provide guide to fix it if you want. Working but got side effect : Camera doesn't works. Problem with its driver. Actually it should work fine, but... just don't know why.
Performance and power tweak at build.prop available too. System mods also available.
Whatever, just reply me anything you want. But I'm away for these 2 weeks due to school exam. =.=

Bought cheap android tablet but can't find any ROMs

Hi.
I picked up a cheap second-hand 7" tablet on ebay that I want to use as a car jukebox and I was hoping to get the ROM updated from its current 4.2.2 custom thing. The tablet is marked up as a bitmore and the model number is tab785 but I can't find any custom ROM mentions via Google or on here.
If needs-be I'll just use it as-is but if anyone can offer any suggestions about better ROMs or ways to use it as mentioned then please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Anybody?

[Q] Expect to be able to root the Tab 4 ?

I'm getting itchy for a new tablet. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 looks uninteresting, especially for the price. Plus, Samsung is getting more difficult to root. The forthcoming Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus is interesting, especially for the price. Although I'd have to wait until May.
The real question, is it likely that I'll be able to root the Tab 4? I'm not looking for a guarantee, just an opinion. I've never had a Lenovo android device, so I don't know how they tend to treat this question.

Although, basically every device is Rootable. Lenovo usually keeps their custom version of Android close to stock, so it shouldn't have any problems.
Still no root available?
Hi, I got my Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus today and it appears there is still no root instruction available. I tried Framaroot and KingRoot but both failed miserably. Towelroot did not even install - but I believe that one works on older Android versions only anyway.
All instructions on the Web are obviously fake and even on the Lenovo board there is nothing usable about the Tab 4...
I believe the Tab 4 is already out since a couple of month now.
Is it really possible that nobody has rooted it so far?
Does somebody here know how to root that tablet?
lenovo Tab 4 8" is a fair Tab. However browser is freezing up on the regular.

Lenovo Tab 4 8" is not a adult tablet. However the browser is freezing up on the regular already. Hoping to find a root for the device soon.

The tablet hasn't been released everywhere yet (including the US) so perhaps when it does, there will be a lot of people attempting to find a way to root.

No clue if the information is correct, but that link
tabletmonkeys.com/lenovo-tab-4-10-android-7-1-tablet
says it has been released more than one month ago in the US.

There is no rooting method available for Lenovo tab 4 10 plus. But you can try it with one click root applications available.
None of them works with the Tab 4.

That's for the non-plus variants; I was referring to the Plus variants.

OK, thanks for the clarification! I didn't expect that they release the non-plus and the plus separated... Do you have up to date information when the plus release in the US is planned?
for now, I have tried all the root method none of them working. kingo. iroot. have been google all day.
I am seeking for the method as well, please help.
For Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus and Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus root is possible by unlocking bootloader, booting (not flahsing) TWRP and flashing SuperSU or Magisk. I made a howto in a german forum. I think matshias (who build TWRP for both devices) make a howto on xda in the near future.

1. You don't need a unlock code from Lenvo. The command fastboot oem unlock-go work without a code.
2. It exists TWRP for the Tablet (I linked it in my howto). The only thing is, better not to flash it, only boot it.
3. see 2.

Do you know if this work on the standard Lenovo Tab 4 8" ( Not the Plus) ?
No, only for the Plus versions. Maybe matshias build sometimes a version for the non Plus.

Here is TWRP for the Plus version: https://forum.xda-developers.com/thinkpad-tablet/general/twrp-root-tab-4-plus-tb-x704l-f-tb-t3664407
Here are experimental TWRP builds for Tab 4 8/10. Let me know if they work.

Would rooting it possibly fix the sdcard issues ( I have a non plus tab)
If you search the Lenovo forums you'll see it mentioned there( mine is doing it also)
hmmm

Custom Rom on stock Sony Xperia Tablet Z LTE

Hi folks,
Could someone please help with the following?
I have the tablet in the subject. Haven't used it in ages, as I have an iPad Air 2 from work which I prefer.
My daughter is now a teen and keeps pinching my tablet to view all her shows on my tables, although she has a rooted Nexus 7 I gave her with CyanogenMod installed.
This is driving me up the wall. Can't afford to get a new tablet at the moment so I dug up my old Sony Tablet.
My Xperia Z tablet is stock with the latest update Sony pushed out - I think it's version 5.1.1 or something.
I see a lot of roms available for this device on xda.
Is there any benefit to root the device and install one of those or is the device outdated? Will it stream Netflix, etc in HD?
Many thanks!
