I've searched far and wide on the internet, looking for a way to unlock the bootloader on a Verizon Note 2 running 4.4.2 Android. I would like to install cyanogenmod, but all of the instructions are for older updates, and no longer work. Have any of you found a way to unlock the bootloader?
Not possible ever since 4.3. @Beastmode is working on getting safestrap working which will allow TouchWiz variants but not cm11

I have an LG P769 software version 20f (OTA) build JZO54K that I would love to put Cyanogen on. I have it on my p509 and I love it. My understanding is that I need to unlock the bootloader, flash a proper recovery image and then flash over the Cyanogen Rom. I did my P509 so I'm not a complete noob at this, it's been working just fine for almost 2 years however I've searched every where and I have a few questions.
Is it possible to unlock a stock 20f P769? (purchased the phone a week ago, updated it yesterday and it's 20f now. No idea what it was before that but it was brand new from Tmobile)
If it is, how do I do and what do I need?
Is Cyanogen 10.1 the newest of the Cyanogen ROMs I can use?
If I do successfully unlock it I can follow the CM 10.1 guide to get the rom and all that on there really I'm stuck now at Unlocking it. I tried the method in the now locked thread (before realizing people had found out it doesn't work)
Thanks in advance for any help, like I said I've looked in dozens of threads and can't seem to find a clear answer on the matter.
Have you looked here?

Hello Everyone i am now a proud owner of the sony z2 tab with verizon and i know how verizon is when it comes to unlocks and rooting but i want to know if there is any development going on to root or unlock the bootloader for the verizon version of the z2 tab cause i pretty sure the unlocks already made may not work on the verizon lte version
I personally want to say thank you to all the devs who work on these devices cause through your hard earned work it makes my experience on all my devices exciting and very good so THANK YOU all and to all testers as well
I apologize for reposting accidentally posted in General if mod sees it im sorry for the mistake
U can root with towelroot and have a custom recovery, but the boot loader is still locked so no cm and no roms yet. Sure someone is working on something for the boot loader or roms, but no news yet. Look for threads with for locked boot loader.

towelroot
Towelroot will not root sony z2
I've been searching for a long time on this but can't get an answer that's current. So my question is: If I have an OTA 4.3 updated phone with the stupid locked bootloader, and I want to install a custom ROM, is there a way to do that yet? I know I can root using saferoot, which I've already done, but I want to install cyanogenmod. Any way to do this or am I still stuck? If I am still stuck, is anyone working on it anymore, or is it a lost cause? Thanks
As far as I know a locked bootloader equals no custom recovery(CWM,TWRP,Philz). This in turn means no custom rom(Cyanogenmod or any other ROM).
Device model?
That would help determine if there is any support out there for unlocking the bootloader.
I'm facing the same issue with a Huawei H881C aka Huawei Ascend Plus (Tracfone version)
Dang locked bootloaders... why do they torture us so?
At least we have root...

Hello all,
I have a problem as I have heard it is currently impossible to unlock the bootloader on my phone which is a Galaxy S4 SCH i545. OS 4.4.2 Kernel version 3.4.0 and build NC5. I would like to be running CyanogenMod.
Also, It is currently rooted via the new Towelroot hack.
I am wondering if a possible option would be to revert to a previous android build where it would be possible yet to unlock the bootoader.
Has anyone done this? If so, how far back should I go and what is the best way to do this? Thank you for your help.

No can do. Unfortunately there is no way to do what you are wanting. Since 4.3 there's been no way to downgrade to anything useful and no way to unlock the bootloader.

Well that is extremely discouraging to hear. I will probably have to buy a different phone eventually. Do you happen to know if there's a safestrap OS for it that's worth doing?

Hyperdrive is my fav TW rom for your phone.
I am a beginner to Android, and I am wondering if someone can introduce me to how to make my Galaxy S4 into a Google Play Edition with Lollipop. Can someone walk me through this?
Please help!

Likely this will not be possible for you.
Samsung and Verizon have kept the GS4 Bootloader locked and unless you have the "MDK" version of the bootloader there are no options to change your ROM to "Google Play Edition with Lollipop". Furthermore, depending on your current bootloader, you may not even be able to root your phone.
Go to the Baseband section under settings/more/about device and look for the baseband version. The last 3 letters/numbers are the ones you will see referred to in these posts. Up to NK4 was KitKat, OC1 is Lollipop.
If your last 3 are MDK you may be able to use an exploit called Loki which will allow you to root and change roms - (search MDK and Loki on these forums). Unfortunately if your last 3 are OC1 then you are on Lollipop and out of luck for root/custom roms at the moment.
Once you find those letters/numbers you will know your options. For Kitkat versions you can root with Towelroot and install the Safestrap app/recovery and use that to flash custom Kitkat Touchwiz Roms only. There are a few methods for upgrading to Lollipop from NK4 and retaining root but you must root the phone first before upgrading.
With very few exceptions, once you upgrade your bootloader/baseband version you cannot downgrade, so if you are already on OC1, the only option is to wait for a new root exploit to be found.
Hope this helps a little.
Try looking up "how to flash roms on galaxy s4" and I think there is a guide on xda
