Noticed on my Nexus 9 Lock Screen has the large digital clock at the top of the screen and underneath has a small line of town, temp., and time. Problem is the two times are not the same. Anyway to change any of the items
The town, weather one is the time it last updated the information. Unless it constantly syncs, which you don't want to do because of battery usage, it'll always be different

Thanks for the info. .

Evening all
One of the things I really liked on my iPhone was that you could set it to just have a swipe lock on the screen unless it was left for, say, 5 minutes, at which point you had to enter a pin code. Its a real pain having to keep pattern/pin/face unlock the phone every time I put it down and pick it up. It would be much better of rme to have it lock automatically on a simple swipe after 60 seconds, then security lock after, say, 5 mins.
Is there any software which can do this?
cheers,
Robsa
Look for Delayed Lock in the play store, it's a rather handy little app (which can, amongst other things, keep your phone unlocked when connected to specific wifi networks) . The support thread for it is on XDA.
Edit: see thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=955092

You can make it so there's no lock screen at all for five minutes, will that do?
The very handy (but paid) app JuiceDefender (beta) which helps a lot with battery drain of 3G data networks also has this feature amongst other things.
Umm in the security settings there is a setting for how long before it enables the lock after screen off.. People don't look for anything anymore. It's always "I need this now and I don't care if you do it for free, NOW"
It's already there as said above. Now say five hail Androids on the way out the door for not RTFM.

Is this the same on others devices .. when I unlock my screen the widgets and apps sometimes need a second time appear
The weather clock. Alarm widget. Google search etc all disappear as if they are not loaded .. is this a feature to save power or a design flaw ??

I've noticed that too. Like it has to load everything up again. Annoying.

Same here with Nova launncher.
This is where I envy IOS
Here comes the whaaambulance!!!
Seriously though. I think its designed to do that. Not so much the part where they take a second to load, but to save power maybe by using less ram? I dunno.

Ah yeah sounds right to save ram it's not bothering me as such just used to HTC
Another thing anyway to delay the screen lock when I'm using the phone ... I don't want to have to change the screen lock each time from none to pattern lol

The worst part is, if I wake up phone from deep sleep them the animation on the lock screen lags.
And even the main screen would lag for few seconds before it becomes super snappy.
This wake up lag and screen refresh is very embarrassing.
My gf's I Phone never does that and she teases me a lot because of this.
I have to sollow my pride :screwy::screwy::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown:

What weather app does everyone prefer? Tried weatherbug and like it but severe alerts are slow to come through unless i open the app. Weather channel is a bit better but often doesnt notify until the screen turns on, and then notifies every few minutes.
Using tray weather updates and alerts for both(not same time)
Radar now has push alerts that work in a timely fashion

WeatherBug is the way to go... you need to go into the app and change the refresh rate in the settings though to get the severe alerts timely, the app actually uses the refresh rate you set for everything in the app (I know, how novel, right?)... keep it at an hour or lower and the alerts come though within an hour of release for me. I have ran it at 15 minute refresh with no real change in battery life either. I think by default the refresh rate is set at every 4 hours.
I use beweather. Works great for alerts.

Giving beweather a try. Looks cool, and based on wunderground which is nice.
I also really like weather bug. With the 15 minute refresh rate it works great.
Beweather is nice and works with the sense 4.0 clock widget on viper. I guess that's a sense 4.0 thing?

weather bug!
Accuweather
Love weatherbug and still have it around but really want push alerts, and beweather does that. Also nice interface.
I use mycast.

Anyone else's time an hour off? I'm in EST and it automatically sets to central timezone unless I manually set it myself. I've rebooted numerous times. My wife's RAZR MAXX shows the correct time.
I'm unrooted and no launcher if that helps.
A note to you from my Note 2.
I live roughly 5 miles from the EST/CST line and the only time I ever have that problem is with the stock clock/weather widget. Im in EST and whwn I use that widget it isnt. However stat bar time is always right. Switched clock widgets and no problem since.

I couldn't find any topics like this so here goes:
Currently I have my lock screen off so that when I wake my device on I instantly get to my launcher instead of going through the lock screen swiping or tapping in a combination to get to the launcher. Yeah, I get that its more secure with the lock screen on; but I just feel that the battery is getting drained when going through the lock screen. I don't know how if the lock screen is conserving battery or something. Enlighten me. I want to hear it from you guys. Will disabling the lock screen save me some battery?
Seems to me like any amount of battery saved would be negligible. Sounds like a personal preference IMO.

I don't know that the lock screen saves battery - in fact I doubt it. If it does, it's barely any, as the guy above me said. If you're trying to save battery, just make sure you're killing apps when you're done with them and maybe even install Greenify.
I think it depends on what you have on your lockscreen. If you have a bunch of widgets, then the widgets might be using up your battery. For example, if your lockscreen displays the weather and it is sync'ing the weather or location every 5 minutes, then you might see a pretty big battery draw.
