Hello,
I would like to know how to use/install tablet apps on a phone
e.g. Blizzard is planning to release hearthstone for android tablets soon but later for phones..
I am going to buy the oneplus one so the hardware should be good enought to run it but i doubt that i will be able to install it from the playstore.
Is there a way to install and use tablet apps one phones?

It's hard to believe that there is no one out there able to answer...

Ok, so I am a software developer and I have a new client who wants to do some stuff with Android which probably requires a root (such as basically locking a tablet down to run a single app).
They are picking out their hardware and are looking into which version of Android to use and also whether or not to use a knockoff Chinese tablet to save money.
From my research I don't believe there is a reliable root of 4.0 yet. I assume this is because there are no big name tablets running it...although, strangely, a lot of the off-brand tablets are.
My other research seems to suggest that most roots are device specific. Is that generally true? If so does that mean that we will have a tough time rooting these offbrand tablets?
They would like to use Honeycomb because of its inherent scalability which would allow them to, theoretically, use either a 7inch or 10 inch tablet. Is this a valid assumption?
Since the app would be really all that the user would see it seems to me that it may, in the end, be better to go with an earlier and therefore more hackable version of Android such as 2.3 even though it wasn't really made for tablets.
Just want to thank you all in advance for your expertise. I look forward to your answers and thoughts.

Anyone have some thoughts to give?
Hi guys iv been a long time lurker on this forum using it to gather information about rooting different phones and such,
I'm currently in the market place for a new tablet its going to be android as im so used to the OS for everyday use, but what i realy want is the ability to duel boot it with a linux OS, ether debian of ubuntu, i'm not new to installing roms or rooting but normally i buy first then find out what i can play with after, but this time round i want to buy the technology to meet my needs.
basicaly what im asking is what tablets do you have and what linux are you running also how does it run ? is it smooth or very slow ? does the wifi, bluetooth, and usb slots work ok ?what in you opinion is the best 10 inch tablet out there for me to run a linux os on ?
i whant to spend around £250 on the tablet but cheaper is always better providing it still does the job, for example i saw an archos g9 101 turbo at HMV for 150 quid and for the spec that seems very cheap, iv read on hear about people running ubuintu on this tablet, anyone got any comments about it.
i know theres a lot of questions but if anyone has any info or links they would like to share with me feel free
Cheers Guys
Hey XDA! This is my first post so bear with me...
Recently Acer announced their new Tegra K1 Chromebook and I have to say it's pretty intriguing. I really want to buy one, my only problem being Chrome OS. Don't get me wrong, I love it, it's just not robust enough for me. I want to really make use of the K1 by playing more high end games like ones for Android that are more optimized for it. Touchscreen not being a huge issue here. I'd use a PS3 controller of course. Plus with all the apps already developed for the Droid platform it makes a lot more sense than web based Chrome OS.
So, question time.....
Do you think it would be possible to install KitKat or maybe even Android L Beta on a system like this? I have researched it a little and the Tegra uses ARMv7 architecture. I don't know a whole lot about what that means, but as far as I understand it's 64-bit not 32. Does that mean I would have to use a special KitKat OS on this? Also how in the world would I go about doing this? I have successfully installed Ubuntu (I think 12.04) on an older Samsung Chromebook which dual boots both Ubuntu and Chrome OS; however, I am not sure that the steps involved would be the same. Seeing as how this is a fairly new device, Google is of no help whatsoever....
EXTRA, EXTRA!
Would it be possible to make Android the default OS so it auto boots without going to the OS verification screen?
Thanks for reading! Really hope I can get some answers, looking forward to doing some "real" gaming on the cheap!
Hi,
my mom won a crazy 55" Panasonic TV, one of the brand new models running on Firefox OS. Not bad , since she needed a new one anyway. But I want to bring this thing to the internet now, I'm always scared of stuff I can't control so the question is simple: Are there chances to get root access or at least a way to install apps running as root or whatever? Or forget about it and buy a Android Settop Box? I mean I'm interested in this new thing from Mozilla, looks promisiong and runs very smooth, stable and all that from what I can tell at this point although it doesn't seem to have a shell but Android is so damn easy, mouse and keyboard are no problem (and would cost a few bucks to get it in this case, too but that's not the problem).
OK, not rootable in terms of getting SU like access the way it works on other platforms but a very open platform, that allows a lot by default (don't know if I failed because of permissions or stuff I tried isn't possible at all...I mean it's a TV...) if you're interested read on here:

How to connect to your TV with Mozialls WebIDE
Not sure if it's step forward until now but it's a damn interesting new toy to play around with.
To those of you that can't remember these netbooks such as the Craig Wireless Netbook, I don't blame you because they ran Android and weren't very appealing to some people. Never the less, I have decided to buy one of these off of Amazon. After looking around seeing if anyone had installed a somewhat modern version of Uberoid that featured something like Android 4.1.1. Someone did, but they wanted to revert back. The thing is that, I do not know how to make a backup of the current system to restore if I don't like the new Uberoid install or the new ROM if I choose a different ROM. I have looked around for links and I found a few, but non of them list that it's compatible with ANY Craig Wireless netbook. It lists for the WM8850 and similar ARM chips. I did find somewhere that if you have one of these netbooks that you can installed Android 4.4 Kitkat. I managed to find one link from Craig and even then the link didn't work because they removed it and removed all traces of this 2012 netbook on their netbooks with a bunch of other models. I did look under several website archivers to no avail of a download. Sadly I cannot post the links here because of the 10 post for new users. If someone needs the links I will try my best share them when I have finished my 10 posts.
Netbook Specifications:
WM8850 ARM Processor
1GB of RAM
1.3GHZ
The main reason I would prefer a newer version of Android is to be able to download more modern apps. I mean right now I have a few apps like Google Chrome (an old version of it though), and Aptoide and Sideme. I can't get Google Play to work properly because of the lack of Google Play services and even trying to add that back without making a custom ROM off of the original factory firmware doesn't work either. I can get some YouTube play back after I made myself a custom Google Play Service's less YouTube app with Lucky Patcher. Another reason why I would like to use a more recent version of Android is because despite the factory resets I perform on this netbook, it has erratic WiFi issues and I have an app that can fix that, but it takes awhile to fix the problem and it's very eerie. Not to mention the fact that other ROM's might have a fully working Play Store. Does anyone have an original Craig Wireless Netbook (CLP281X) Android 4.0.3 (or anything at this point that works with properly), that I can restore from in case if I don't like the new Uberoid or custom ROM's I find? PS: This netbook came with Android 4.0.3 preinstalled. Help would be appreciated.
