No USB connection - Half bricked? - Xperia Tablet Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Tablet Z with unlocked bootloader and rooted 10.1.C.0.370
My issues occured after a downgrade to 4.1.2.
I CAN:
1) Start my tablet. Camera doesnt work though (Error: Camera not available)
2) Charge my tablet (Only partially... When the tablet is ON, it doesn't charge. When OFF it charges to about 50% - odd behavior)
3) Go into safe mode
4) Go into fastboot mode (solid BLUE LED)
5) Use the memory card and use root apps (maybe this could help restore?)
I CAN NOT:
1) Get my PC to recognize that a USB device is connected. Neither in Mass Storage mode, Media mode, nor fastboot mode.
- Tried with several cables and computers (this is not a driver issue, since it won't show up at all in device manager)
- Flashtool obvious;y says, no device connected
2) Get in to flashmode: device blinks red for about half a second, then green for half a second, and then LED is off. Nothing recognized via USB on PC
3) Get into recovery mode
4) Update over WIFI (fails because unlocled bootloader I suppose)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
--------------------------------------
I managed to make an adb connection to my PC via WIFI
On the tablet:
1) Opened a root terminal
2) setprop service.adb.tcp.port 5555
3) stop adbd
4) start adbd
On my PC:
1) adb connect <network IP of tablet>
Printscreen of Flashtool connected via adb WIFI:

Does this get me any closer to fixing my USB problem or to flashing an update/recovery?
Another update:
I hadn't tried using my camera at all. I just tried and it says: Error: Camera not available
Maybe its related to the USB connectivity issue...

Will pay 60 bux via paypal to whoever solves my problem, since Sony won't!

Possible?
Is it possible to flash in flashboot mode via SD Card (No recovery present on tablet) using some kind of script before putting the tab in flashboot mode??

Interesting Info
Hey guys,
got some interesting info regarding charging cycles from: http://sony-xperiasp.blogspot.de/2013/08/recover-all-2012-xperias-from-soft-brick.html
Its not really for the tablet Z, but sounds very similar.
My charging cycle is about at 3. When phone is off, it will start at a RED led, and go upto abot 20-30%, where the Kernel kicks in. As soon as that happens, as described in the article, a short click of the power button shows the battery icon. BUT, it doesnt show the battery charging anymore!
In short, as soon as the Kernel comes on, my battery stops charging. Now my QUESTION: Is it possible there is a minimum charge to be able to go into flashmode?? Because when I try to go into flashmode, it blinks green and then red. Maybe this means not enough battery charge to go into flashmode?
Can someone PLEASE, check this on their working Tablet Z?! With an extremely low battery charge, if they are able to go into flashmode! (steady green)
Would really appreciate! Thanks!!

Problem solved... 2 USB cables faulty, got a new one. Now it charges and goes into flashmode. Flashed stock, all OK except the Camera. Still says Camera unavailable. Thats maybe really the thin wire inside loose!

why press power button
plase do this step! by step!:
2 Short-Pin unbrick method
1. Copy a functional ROM on SD Card. PRG folder
2. Rename to TG01WP_00.enc
3. Put the battery in and plug Power- Kable. Charging LED flash RED *
4. short pin 1 and 3 (back side under sim card, remove black plastic) Hold the short and RESET. Hold short pin 1 and 3 for 10 sec. Display go on and ROM flash beginn
Yes i did tray this couple of times but with no success , when i plugged charger the charging red light dont flash red but i tray it anyway with charger on and off aswell.
I did it with the power button cose i read that somewhere and im scared i did burn or so something in MB as i had power charger plugged in i then short the pin 1 and 3 and then press power button. this is probably very bad way to go. the mobile is not responding to anything i tray
My TG01 has the same problem. I tried many times to flash a new ROM by "2 Short-Pin unbrick method" but nothing. @mirolg if you have some other ideas we are glad to hear you and to try on our dead phones.

SP Flash Tool is stuck as 0% with Lenovo s860 2GB(non-removable battery)

My phone is now bricked because I tried to flash the stock ROM(4.4.2) to my phone(6.0.1). At the time, I didn't know that you must format the phone before I guess, "downgrading" it. After I searched on google that I should format it, I went to SP Flash Tool to format it, and the phone got formatted. Now, all I need to do is to flash the stock ROM right? So I did flash the stock ROM to my phone, made sure that VCOM drivers are installed, using the latest version of SP Flash Tool. BUT, when I connected the phone to my laptop(through USB), the laptop detected it, when I press the Download button on the SP Flash Tool it's just at 0%. I tried to use the Firmware upgrade but still, stuck at 0%. I tried it on another PC and still, no luck. What do I do??? PLEASE HELP. I have until afternoon to fix it on my own because I'll give it to the local mobile repair shop.
BTW, the phone is still charging as I'm writing this thread
First of all install the drivers to your pc
Then, enable usb debugging in developer options in settings
Then, connect your phone
Now check whether pc recognize your phone if yes
Then, power off your phone
Now find the scatter file in sp flash tool and then click on download button
After it connect your switched off phone to pc with a usb cable
You will see that sp flash tool will recognize your device and start formatting and then downloading....
All this process will takes only 4-5 minutes at most.

I fixed mine by connecting the test point
You must open your phone and connect ground (any wire to ground) and find the preloader testpoint
Mine was the second test point near the volume control and power button next to the sim or black cable under the orange plastic covering the connector
I dont have the picture but i can give you an example (not s860 but similar)
WARNING: FOR PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!
BE CAREFUL OR YOUR PHONE WILL BE DEAD!

(not actual photo)
Those are test points, find a wire (any electrical wire) screw it to the screw that's holding the motherboard (for ground) and try each one of the test point, be careful not to connect the wire to vcc, vcharge or any 4.xx pins (if you were checking using a multimeter)
Here's a video for disassembling the phone : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ry37RjmnZRo
And here's for reference : http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f672/lenovo-a850-dead-boot-how-easy-jtag-1868940/index2.html
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f958/a850-lenovo-dead-while-flashing-1888753/
After you find the test point, the phone will be detected by the computer as vcom or something, quickly install the mtk65xx driver (if you haven't install yet) and flash the stock rom using sp flash.
Best of luck.

Red LED. Can't access fastboot or recovery, stuck in bootloop that drains battery.

It's a bit of a strange problem, I'll start from the start.
I tried to update my Z2 with a new rom but I got stuck with my recovery saying that the rom was for a diffrent device (It incorrectly identified my device as a "Leo" instead of "Sirius")
I found a diffrent version of TWRP that suposedly fixed this issue but when I flashed it in fastboot all I got was a boot loop with the sony logo. It doesn't get to the point where the LED lights up and you press the volume button to get into recovery.
I tried to go back into fastboot mode/download mode to try and force it to boot into recovery that way, this is when my battery went flat and the real fun began.
When I try to charge it straight off a wall charger It would automatically boot up to the sony logo and get stuck in it's boot loop.
The problem is that this boot loop seems to drain the battery faster than I can charge it. After awhile the screen goes black with a red LED indicating a flat battery and as soon as it gets enough charge it'll try and boot again.
I can get it into download mode only if I let it charge for awhile and then go through the steps using the wall charger and not the PC, this obviously doesn't do me any good but at least it is possible to access this mode if I can get enough juice back in it.
Is there anyway of stopping it from trying to boot while I'm charging it?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I'm at a loss with what to try next.

I have attempted this but I can't get it to boot into download mode to flash a stock firmware without getting more of a charge in it.
I have ordered charging cable that connects to the magnetic dock connection and hopefully that will let me keep it charging while flashing.

Let it download and then use the little "OFF" Button by the Sim card tray. It'll turn phone off completely. Then plug USB Cable into phone and hold Volume UP while plugging USB Cable into PC.
Then use Flashtool to flash the firmware you downloaded.

So lets start from the begging. Phone was lying about 1.5 years.

I've never tried it, but I don't think the phone will boot properly without a battery. Battery plays primary role in the mobile phone circuitry.
You do not have access to Recovery and eRecovery (see your photo No.1), that's why update via eRecovery doesn't work, imo.
So I need to buy new battery and then try again? Or maybe you have any idea to recover old one?

No need to send the video.
It looks like a damaged motherboard or dead emmc memory (see screen No.1), hard to say. It may not have been a good idea to turn on your phone without a battery...
Plug it on a computer, if it only says USB SER, then you can probably only restore it using testpoint & board firmware (if it is a software problem).

It should be "Android Sooner Single ADB Interface", if I'm not mistaken. "fastboot 2.0" = 'black fastboot' = hard bricked phone.
I saw the video, but I can't advise you anything new, sorry.

Very likely you can't.
From your description, when you flashed it, A13 was updated only on one slot with the new bootloader, while the second slot is still stuck with the previous bootloader. During the flashing (how did you flash?), something went wrong, so the Pixel wanted to boot from the second slot with the "old" bootloader and the "Anti-Roll-Back" kicked in.
RMA and hopefully get an exchange
Cheers
Follow this steps and let us know if it worked for you
1. Unplug the cable from your phone
2. Press and hold for at least 15 seconds the power button then release
3. Connect a cable from your pc to your phone but you need to press volume up and hold it until you connect the cable, once connected release the button your phone shall turn on fastboot mode, it it worked just proceeded and flash a13 again, just download it from it's official source
14. Profit
