Glass TR ( rounded endges) - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Just wanted to let you guys know that Spiegen's glass TR is amazing with the note 3. It looks as if its a note 4, because it has rounded edges thus giving it that 2.5 d look and feel. Very premium, pen and finger sensitivity it unaffected whatsoever.
Its the best glass screen protector i have ever seen. I can provide pictures or videos if needed. But damn...my note 3 looks so hot with this. And feels so much more premium.

Could you please provide pics thanks

Why would you even post a new thread about how much you love it without any information at all? It's like I would say, DAMN my Audi looks great with all my rims and custom painting, it looks awesome and it's the best car ever!
Go ahead and post a real review with pictures and stuff, that will get a lot more attention.

Sorry guys, didn't have much time to post pix, was away for a while. I will be posting pictures in a few days time. It's just i was under the impression that the Glass tR by Spiegen is a pretty popular choice.

Best Screen Protection

Hi,
I use ZAGG invisibleSHIELD since 4 months and I search somethings better. I don't like how my fingers slips on the screen if I compare to the iphone 4 of my friend.. The feeling of iphone is awesome..
Which protection screen you recommend for a best feeling?
Might be some suggestions HERE.
I bought these and they are awesome!
Smooth matte feeling, no fingerprints and the light reflects nicely on the screen.
Colors look a little dimmer, but that's no issue for me.

You won't be disappointed! ;-)
Come back here when you get them and tell us what you think!
If anyone wants I can post some pictures too.

Yeah sure, I'll review this product! I want some pictures if you can!
Hey My_Immortal
Just some questions. Did you also get it from the same guy on ebay? Also, does the screen protector give out a lot of tiny rainbow/prism effect when it is very noticeable on white backgrounds?
I got one anti-glare matte screen protector from ebay and after I applied it on, it looked HORRIBLE under white screens/background. Like if I'm browsing a website, it gives out a very noticeable prism effect. When I compared it to my friend's anti-glare matte screen protector on his iPhone (from the Tru brand bought at a carrier store), it wasn't noticeable at all. I'm guessing since it is a very reputable screen protector brand, I would think quality is the reason for the effect. Good quality screen protectors reduces that and cheap ones may show a lot.
If you can, post pictures with a white screen on it.
Thanks!
I went to this place to get mine, they do a full body cover, looks good... but don't do what i did, follow the instructions it makes it look so much better, and mine looks and feels good even with my screw up.
I've only put the screen, top, bottom and side protectors on, left the back as i like the feel of the back cover, they were doing free to the first 2000 customers and all you had to pay for was the delivery, the promotion is still going on they've taken away for how many units they are going to sell, so not sure how much longer they will be doing this for.
can't post a link to the site, but do a search for stealthguards.com
the photo in the link u gave us shows that it is much dimmer \darker.
is it really making the screen so dark?

Sorry guys for the delayed answer, I was trying to find my digital camera, but it seems that it's lost somewhere in one of the gazillion purses in my closet!!!
Will post pictures as soon as I locate it!
The "photo" in the link is not an actual photo, is more like a graphic design.
The screen does get a little dimmer, but imho it is a small price to pay because the feel of the screen becomes really smooth. There is no more grease on it, which I really like. And coming from me, wearing makeup and taking a lot of calls every day without handsfree, I think it means a lot! lol!
Hey!
Have a look at these.
I bought them an they are really great.
You´ll see no difference to the screen without a protector.
I love them and i´ll buy them again and again.
Including the shipping costs, it´ll be at 4,99£ or in Euro ~5,72€
But it´s worth. =)
Have a look at the customer reviews
Just use Lemon Pledge. Spray it on some lint free cloth, squeeze the residules from the cloth itself, leave it to dry and wipe it over the protective screen cover. No more smudge and stay clear always.
Grandmother trick
Its still free.
Waiting now to se whats it is like.
Oh, they don't sell Lemon Pledge in my country...
I would give it a try if I could!

Spen traces in invisible shield

I noticed that when I use the spen on this protector I can see the traces on it. As a matter of fact I can still see today the traces from the first time I used the pen close to a month ago. Is anyone having the same problem with invisible shield? What screen protector are y'all using that is not having this problem and where you got it?
Thanks!
I was using a BodyGuardz (similar to the Zagg) and was seeing the same thing. That style just isn't made for a precise point pen like the note has.
I've switched over to an SGP Glass-t and could't be happier with the decision. There's a thread in the forum all about it - but it's basically a glass screen protector and after a short while using it - I wish I would have found them years ago.
i had one on mine (which has since been sold for a white one arriving tomorrow) and it does show traces, but only if you look at it from a serious angle with light reflecting off of it.
the zagg's are made to change shape, etc. which is one of the reasons why they are so durable.
i honestly didn't find any fault with the traces, as i had to truly look for them. a cursory glance wouldn't reveal their presence.
that said, i have ordered a glas.t to test it and see how i like it. i'm a huge fan of zagg and i cannot stand any other type of screen protector.
I hated the traces at first as well, but I only see them when the display is off and at an angle. It doesn't affect the function of the S-Pen or visibility at all. I wish it wasn't quite so "tacky" when drawing on it - I really hope it doesn't affect the durability of the pen's nub in the long run. But for me, protecting the display with something so durable and with a lifetime warranty (and free replacement and application through Best Buy) is worth it.

for reals. i love the feel *EXCEPT* when using the s-pen. i hope they release the HD and smudge-proof versions as they may help alleviate that (though i don't like either as much).
i've put on untold thousands of them in the past 3 years while working there :]

Here's what I'm using. Probably the best SP you can buy once you get over the price. There's no feel to it and it doesn't interfere with the S-Pen or touch.
Spigen SGP Ultra Crystal
Absolutely phenomenal.

I want to try the Glas SGP that modmyphone posted, but the "one shot deal" installation scared me. As well as I don't think my case will fit with.
If it protects my phone I won't care if it's $99, lol
I'm quite happy with the one I got from Ebay seller 'rdstore'. Clear as a bell and the pen doesn't leave any marks. Also, $1.49.
Any of the softwer type ones are going to do this. I just peeled off my ArmourSuit to send back for a new one (life time replacements) but dont know if i'll paply it since it'll just happen again. I love the wet type ones bc they are so easy to apply and zero bubbles. Plus I've grown to love the rubbery feel of them. I will continue to use them for the back of the phone as the rubber texture provides a grippy surface to prevent phone from sliding around, but will have to get one of the thinner nonremovable crappy ones as DrawSomething has left my screen saver looking horrid.

Clearplex?

Anyone try these yet? theres been a few videos floating around the net lately about them. One video has a grandma shooting a iphone in the air with and without it, another shows the clarity and smoothness of it vs the invisable shield. there $13.99 for just the screen and since i had some money just sitting in my paypal account i thought id order one.

well, it looks nice. im buying one now because I have a zagg cover on now and cant stand it with the s pen. I hope this one is better...
Someone should do a review after they get it. I never use screen protectors cause i hate the sticky feel of it.

i currently have the ghost armor one on mine and it doesnt have the sticky feel at all. Ill try to throw up a mini review when i get mine, if it doesnt work out so well i got a back up ghost armor at least. they gave me 2 sets when i got mine.
I've been looking for something like this. I'll write a review on this when I get it. Remember to use grandma at check out for a discount.
Looks very interesting, I'm more intrigued by how impact resistant it is. Would love a review of this one.
I absolutely detest screen protecters but I have had to go back to them because of my job. I'm doing sheet metal/air conditioning for the summer until I start the nursing program in august, then it will be bye bye protector. but in the mean time I really need a good protector that feels nice with the s pen. My zagg one is'nt cutting it, so, here we go...I hope to give a review soon.

Really? I'm exactly the opposite. My handwriting is 1000% better with my zagg. I like a little texture and the way light reflects on it makes it hard for people next to you from seeing that your Googling the latest Hollywood nipslip.

I apologize guys. My clearplex came in today and i had the intention of taking lots of pix of my ghostarmor on there with screen on and off, then taking comparison pix with the clearplex. Well instead i got drunk and decided i wanted it on now to test it lol. Good news is I did snap a few photos, got it on perfectly, but i didnt take as many pix as i hope for. Ill give it a few days to test out. For now ill say this, it really looks like there isnt a screen protector on there, clarity seems great, and feels like my finger is actually on glass not a protector.

well, just installed clearplex on my phone and I must say that for the note this has to be the perfect screen protector. you really cant tell its there. the s pen works phenomenal compared to the zagg protector I had on it. it feels like glass and not the plastic feel. I would definitely recommend this to someone. great find op. im glad I got it!

Not sure what went wrong with mine then... put it on with what appeared to be a pretty good install, no bubbles or anything like that to speak of. However the rainbowing/striping effect is pretty bad. Granted, that can only be seen when the phone is off, but still. (it's just been a day so I'll give it a couple to settle in as they say in the instructions, but based on others I've used, I'm not expecting much of a change) Also not a fan of the fit... there's a pretty good gap around the edges since the length of the protector is close to an 1/8" smaller than the screen.
On the pro side, it does have a nice feel to it, touch sensitivity is very good, and the clarity through the rainbowing seems decent enough.

I have that effect as well, but I'm sure its because there's still moisture. It has been getting better daily. Remember to go over the screen with the cloth and card twice a day for 5-7 days. Clarity is possibly the best I've seen so far

yes, the protector itself is a tad bit small, but I can live with it. as far as the rainbow, i dont have that problem...for the most part, it is working out great and the feel compared to anything else I've tried is amazing. I do think any protector is not fun to use but this one is , to me, the best so far. especially thefeel and the way the s pen works on it. I hope it works out for everyone.
Awesome thanks guys for leaving some feedback , im prob gonna pick one up then.

any owners that also had a Galaxy Mega?

I currently have the Galaxy Mega and absolutely love it...that being said when i saw the google play edition of the Z ultra last night I got a bit envious. has anyone come from the mega and if so what are your thoughts? i know there is little size difference but what were your impressions?
obviously, i'm fine with big phones but i'm concerned about the camera since i have an infant and taking pictures is actually important to me now.
also, i am wondering if you can use the Samsung MHL cable on the XZU as i use mhl daily. would be nice not to have to buy another cable.
I have no experience with the Mega, but your MHL cable won't work. Samsung MHL adapters are 11 pins while the rest are 5 pins. Non-Samsung adapters are very cheap though ($10 bucks)

I came from a Mega:
This is so much more powerful. Like, crazy powerful. It completely devastates the Mega. It's noticable the second you start using it, its just so fast and smooth.
The second big improvement is the screen. The Mega has an awesome screen for 720p, but the panel in the Ultra is epic.
The third big improvement is surprisingly battery life! The Ultra is considerably better.
Fourth big improvement is in signal quality. I am UK based so don't use LTE currently, but 3G the Ultra gets a stronger signal pretty much everywhere.
It's waterproof, which is never a bad thing.
Oh and I nearly forgot... Roms. There is already an excelent CM10.2 build available for the Ultra, as well as a fair few other roms and obviously the GPE just got announced and that will bring a tidal wave of very high quality roms. The Mega development section on the other hand is virtually a barren wasteland, and being both underpowered and Touchwiz inflicted it is in desperate need of a decent AOSP build. The Ultra is actually fine stock ironically, Sony only lightly skin Android and the stock rom is near-AOSP anyway.
On the downsides:
The Mega did fit in my pocket better, though I still keep my Ultra in the front pocket of my jeans just as I did with my Mega. The angular design looks good, but it is a little impractical on a device this big.
The touchscreen is prone to occasional mistouches, mainly if it's dirty. Not a big issue by any means, but a minus point non the less.
The camera is much better on the Mega, particularly in low light.
The "ASF" screen protection fitted as standard is stupid. It's plastic based, so it will scratch considerably easier than the strengthened glass beneath it and doesn't feel as nice under the finger. If you remove the film, which took me about 3 hours, the glass underneath doesn't have any oleophobic coating and so gets dirty easily. I plan on buying some of the Fusso replacement oleophobic coating on the net soon to resolve this once and for all, but that costs £20 and it shouldn't be necessary.
For me, the Ultra is the MUCH better phone. I'm really happy with mine, probably the best phone I have ever owned. :good:
i just returned my mega to buy a z ultra play edition, the mega wasn't powerful enough and didn't have enough customization options for me.

thanks for the help.
some of the things that make me weary of the XZU - i think the sharp pretty much sucks and prefer the rounded corners. i'm not sure if it being a bit bigger will be much of a problem or not. i went to the store to try to find one and its not in stock anywhere yet.
i really want a stock android experience though and i'll never ever get that on the Mega since they'll never get MHL to work and i use mhl daily with my appradio 2 and must have it.
that google play edition is so so tempting...i better not even mention i bought another phone after just getting the mega 6 weeks ago.
is it at all easier to use being so much thinner? i didn't think that would matter though in ease of use but not sure.
It's actually ridiculously thin. I have a hard time picking it up from the table. It's almost like trying to pick something flat off the ground and you can't really get a grip. It would've been brutal for the pockets if it was thicker.

do you use a case with it?
i am also confused about this screen protector? is it a protector just built onto the phone that most people don't like or remove but its really hard to take off? i haven't seen any reviews mentioning it.
I'm not using a case. I like to use my devices naked. The screen protector is an "Anti shatter film" that's preventing glass from shattering once you break it. You may remove it if you want to, but I've heard that it takes like three hours to do it since it's really thin and it breaks into tiny pieces. It's not a good protector, so the oleophobic layer (anti smudge) layer will start to come of after some use. Also, since it's a plastic sheet, using pens on it to take notes or draw isn't recommended since it will naturally scratch it. Sony sure employed a brainiac to do this job, and I can't understand why they would do this.
Either way, that's just how it is. You won't notice or even see the protector, and if you get scratches, you can remove it and use your own protector. It just takes a lot of time. You can read all about it in a thread that's lying around here some place.

I'm using a black TPU case I got off ebay for £3, it doesn't add hadly any bulk but ofers decent protection.
I bought the Mega for the mrs. She wanted a large screen but doesn't need all the bells and whistles and see loves it and is used to TW having come from a note 2.
Honestly I like both devices, but for a hardcore tinkerer like me I had to have the Ultra.

Yeah, you won't notice it at all unless you get some bad scratches. Just treat it as a gadget, and not a piece of meat, and you probably won't get any.
If you have an infant and pictures are key for you then avoid this phone like the plague. I have young kids also and this camera sucks. However otherwise the phone is very good in every other aspect.

I dont like Samsung products, bcuz they all look like sanitary napkins.
I'm waiting for my ZU to come in the mail I'm so excited coming from a Mega 6.3!
After playing with a friends ZU, the thing that I will appreciate most on the ZU is the faster processor and larger RAM, although I must admit I do wish the camera on it was a bit better with flash!! I'm a girl and I like to take selfies geez... :silly:

I owned the original Xperia Z and loved the mobile. Reviewers all gave it some negative feedback as when they sat in the kitchen they could not see the screen from the living room due to what they called "Poor viewing angles". I found this odd and got into all sorts of trouble on one review site, Trusted reviews, where they are anything but' trusted'.
I digress. The Z came with this new 'anti shatter film' Point is within only a few days of very respectful use I could actually see tiny marks on this laminate membrane. I spoke with the Sony importer here who advised me to fit a screen protector, in some countries they where sold with the screen protectors in the box. At that time this confused me as I thought both one and the other where the same thing? Not the case at all.
The anti shatter film is fitted as when the water resistant idea was in development the designers realised that customers would use them by a pool or near water like a beach. This caused some concern as if the phone got wet it became slippery and if dropped the screen could shatter and leave shards of glass all over the place where people could cut themselves (not to mention the cost of emptying and refilling a pool). To prevent any such problem and, I guess, avoid legal action? Sony fitted the new range of water resistant devices with these anti shatter films. Great idea.............
IN PRACTCE they have proved so soft they scratch far to readily and in terms of the Ultra it would be suicide to use a pencil on that anti shatter film.
here again is Sony being innovators of great new developments yet so often dropping the ball at the last hurdle!
I have a very decent screen protector fitted on my Ultra that I always order the same time I purchase any phone, phablet or tablet. I also always purchase a decent cover to further protect the device. I would like to use them without a cover but just cannot bare to think of scratching my devices. So good looking yet the cases do hide their good looks also add greatly to the bulk.
Life is all about compromise though.
I suggest comparing the Samsung mega against the Ultra is an unfair test to start with. Size being the only common denominator. With the exception of the camera, so I am told, the Ultra is made to a higher standard in terms of materials used in construction also the other operational hardware is more advanced. I am a Samsung fan but have never been a fan boy of any brand. Its a question of purchase what satisfies ones needs and requirements. I also own the SG Note 3 and gear, they are both now boxed and in a draw ready to sell.

[Review] Slickwraps - Black Carbon K1 Skin

First and foremost: I apologize for any bad shots as I'm not really an expert when it comes to taking shots in general. I've used my S6 to take these in "bad" lightning on my work desk which has very little lightning to begin with (light sensitive person here).

It took my about 15-20 minutes to apply it to the best of my knowledge as I had viewed some tutorials on youtube for other devices. Unfortunately as you can see, the camera cut-out is not even and I tried different ways to make it as "pixel perfect" as possible while keeping the logo intact, but sadly it's not possible. And I don't blame them.

The material is premium as expected from 3M. My only downside is of course that there's no way to make it perfect due to the different pieces and the fact that human error has to be taken in consideration. Still, I bought this having that in mind that nothing is perfect in this world, and the main idea of buying this for my S6 as well was because I have quite sweaty palms not to mention that the S6 is one hell of a slippery phone while the Shield tab really isn't but I did want matching skins and the fact that I absolutely hate cases of any kind..
Either way, the skin adds quite a decent grip and the feel to it is really comfy. If you remember the Droid Razr then you know what I'm talking about.
i see no option for the K1 in their website, still for the Original Shield tablet which has cutout for the stylus slot.

Thanks... I feel a bit slow now. :silly:
Big fat warning to you all!
If you decide for all full wrap then keep in mind that the frontal skin ****s with the digitizer (I tried to get it as pixel perfect as possible but the skin applies pressure to the glass which is why. And let's not add fingers to the mix since it creates even more pressure if you're holding it as a notepad you're drawing on). After a few days of usage I finally had enough and ripped it off. The rest is all good minus the misplacement like I noted in the OP. This might not be so worry-some if you're a casual user but for someone who wanted a portable cheap wacom alternative, this one really hit the spot.
I'm pretty disappointed with the cutouts from Slickwraps. Some of the side strips were too long and I ended up having to clip some of them at the ends or in the middle of the strip to have it line up and sit flat. I went in expecting that camera not to be evenly cut from this review. The skin feels alright, but that's kind of what I expect for what I had to pay for it.
Also, installing the side strips make the buttons flush with the skin. If you already had trouble with the buttons before, you should either not use that side strip or just clip it from the buttons.

I too was also thinking bout getting the slickwraps but I think I'll hold off. Anyone know of alternatives? surprised Dbrand doesn't make skins for the Shield Tablet.

There aren't too many color options, but Skinomi skins fit pretty well, and I like the techskin screen protector. It's sort of rubbery, so it doesn't scratch easily. You can get them on Amazon.
Thank you kindly Aphex! twin? heh. I'll check them out.

Beware, as all stickers are made by 3M. The more complex and bigger device the bigger the chance of getting faulty prints (cutouts).
