[Q] Asus ME176CX Bootloader and Custom Rom - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Asus Memopad ME176CX, I do have it rooted and doing a lot of research. I haven't come up with much luck finding any custom roms or anyway to unlock the bootloader. Can anyone give me a hand? Thanks!

Utter noob needs help rooting and installing a custom rom, unlocking ,,,, etc.

Hello I have just acquired an Asus Prime TF201 and i want to root it and install a custom rom as i have on all my other android devices, perhaps i'm being a little blonde at the moment or i'm unfamiliar with the layout of the development section but i am unable to see a decent guide as to how to accomplish this.
Is there any right way of rooting this device ? Could anyone loan me any pointers please?
I really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for any help.

[Q] Bootloader workaround?

Hi,
I've seen on the Kindle Fire HD threads that in order to install custom ROMs they have made a workaround so that you can install a second bootloader in order to flash custom kernels. Is this something that would be possible on the Mini Pro? And if so is there someone who would be willing to port it for people who aren't able to unlock their bootloader?
Thanks in advance,

I guess that's not possible

root and maybe later restore?

Hello all.
Just had a quick question that I hope someone might be able to help me with.
I am thinking of rooting my prime to play with a custom rom or two.
From what I read about rooting it seems like it is just pushing files based on a tutorial I saw.
Does the tablet actually need to be unlocked to root the tablet and install a custom rom or can I just follow that method without unlocking it?
Also if I decide to go back to stock can I flash a image from Asus to make that happen like you can with Odin on Samsung devices?
Thank you in advance and for your time.
