Rock on Darkspadez!

Nice!!!! Can't wait to flash.

Very very nice to see yet another amazing ROM on this great device! I ran slim for a long time back on my s3 and loved it, so needless to say I'm excited to try it again! Thank you!!

Had dt2w been disabled or not in the kernel

Yes!! My day just got better ^__^

The question is....what works and what doesn't?

Yes another ROM to play with. Still have this loaded up on my old S3

Just flashed, holy crap is this thing fast!! I don't seem to have the Tap to Wake feature working. Is there something I need to turn on?? Looked and couldn't find it.

I can't find anything on this, either...no double tap to wake working on my end.

Same issues with Proximity Sensor as on CM Rom, also lost Root so couldn't logcat.. Thanks I'll try again later!

You can get root back in the settings. Its in developer options. You have to choose apps + adb I believe. I lost root as well until I did that.

as to dt2w i am looking into it and as for root we manually disable it so you have to enable Root Apps + ADB in Developer options in Settings.

Beautiful ROM. Great work. Its super fast and has all the slim features. It even reads my SD card which is something liquid, cm, and vanir didn't do. (I really didn't want to reformat that card.) No bugs so far.
I do miss the double-tap on feature though. Does anyone have a suggestion, app, or workaround to get that working? Play store doesn't have much to offer to assign a shortcut or gesture through nova prime.
Oops...just saw dev post regarding this. Posted at the same time. My bad.

Awwww yeah!

This day just keeps getting better and better! Thanks again guys! (out of thanks today. I'll thank you tomorrow). One question though, is the camera working on this build?
I'm giving it a try now anyway, so I will report
Downloading...NOW!!! :highfive:
oh yeah!! :victory: :victory:
new version is up guys
the launcher problems as well the keyboard popup we cannot do anything...this is a bug on googles closed sourced new launcher lol. Lets hope they will update it as well soon. You can use nova instead which is in our builds as well
about camera we need to wait for the new bloobs from google. All other would be a hackish workaround which does not make sense assuming the blobs will be released soon
whatever
Fixes new version:
- added dalvik optimizations....so speed up step one
- reworked and adapted status bar clock and date customization to 4.4
- added some of our camera features (smart captchure, jpg quality, color filter, gps indicator)
- reworked the complete camera to the new google style. Google stoped it after they finished the photo camera interface lol. So all into new PIE style + some fixes + more consistent now
- added a bunch of Mms/SMS fixes
- activated on supported devices lockscreen transparency on nav and statusbar
- some stability fixes
- fixed some google 4.4 code derps
- a lot small stuff
have fun and cheers
PS. the camera features for deb of course you cannot use right now
I'm probably gonna flash this today The only question I have is this: I'm coming from an old nightly build of CyanogenMod 10.2, which is 4.3.
I remember when we made the jump to Jellybean, a new CWM had to be used and there were a bunch of changes.
It seems like the changeover from 4.3 to 4.4 is way less drastic.
WOuld I be able to get away with a dirty flash and just clear Dalvik cache, or do I have to do a full factory reset? I can Titanium Backup, I just would prefer not to
-edit- somehow doubleposted on accident, sorry!

Defiantly do a factory reset and format /system. 4.3 to 4.4 is too big of a jump for that.
I can't find TWRP 2.6.3.2
The newest version seems to be 2.6.3.1
Will it work with this version?
I flashed this last night using the same CWM Touch I used to flash cm10.2.
Flashed with twrp 2.6.3.1 all ok
Inviato dal mio Nexus 7 utilizzando Tapatalk
I have successfully flashed it, but I can't use this ROM for my daily driver because BlueTooth is broken. I use both a Pebble watch and a pair of A2DP headphones, and both lose connection after the screen is off for a couple minutes. Its acting like the Bluetooth interface is going to sleep for power savings, but this is happening while I am actually listening to audio via Bluetooth. I do this roughly 20 hours a week and "need" this functionality in my tablet.
As a result, I'm going back to CM10.2 for now...

Thanks for bringing slim KitKat tastyness to deb, I'm using the same ROM on my Nexus 4 and there the keyboard popup does not appear.

What the mater
There is no camera app or is this purposedly taken out. I use gosms n cannot input any characters - is this a bug?

it is currently a hard task on the one hand we bring all our devices up on the other hand we put back our features...some are redefined some we programm completly from scratch with new stuff. Eg today we pushed about 200 commits from 4.3 into 4.4 for our other devices + fixes for current devices
but mostly ppl are interested in new features...so new build has:
- superuser included (need to be enabled in developer options!!!)
- a lot new features just discover them...to much to write up
- a new crt animation...check it out
- fix settings locale language problem
- and tons of fixes under the hood
and new build is up
I added a simple list yesterday but it is actually more we have already included:
- all keyboard features are back (force auto rotate, disable landscape fullscreen, force enter button, ime notification, volume key cursor control)
- clock statusbar features
- crt animation
- statusbar brigthness slide
- safe headset volume
- volume rocker features (wake device, sound skip)
- slims privacy guard
- volume panel features we had
- keyguard on supported devices shows now transparent navbar/statusbar as well
- wifi country code
- advanced reboot menu
- custom LED battery and notification features
- swipe qs -> notification and back
- disbale OTA from google
- slims camera and video features (smart capture, image quality, image size, gps indicator etc)
- implemented root (needs to be enabled in developer settings or in superuser settings. Disabled by default)
- tons of fixes in google code and optimizations
- a lot under the hood stuff
- and whatever I forgot to mention lol
Awesome!... I actually just flashed the rom today and love it... Can I dirty flash today's build?.. 8)
Dirty was just fine... I see the camera app in titanium but can't find it in my app drawer... Real smooth so far!... Cheers...

Greetings - I found this ROM runs quite well, and has some nice options.
Still having some odd keyboard issues - gesture typing doesn't display, although works. Long press on keys also work, but similarly nothing is displayed (other than the kb dimming)
Enjoy!

That's a CM problem which will likely just magically fix itself when I fix it for CM unless you want to fix it first and then send it back my way...

Thanks for the info mate. I hope I can actually start to help a bit here now that I'm tearing into the device.
You've done a great job tho, without the CM trees none of these other ROM's would even boot!

No problem. I really wanted an 8" tablet with an msm8974 processor and this was all there was, but, man, Samsung doesn't do software.
Thanks for the offer to help (hopefully that was a general offer!). I think I've fixed this specific problem, just waiting on a build on another device to make sure I didn't somehow screw it up (unfortunately, the fix is in packages/inputmethods/LatinIME so the change will affect all devices).
I don't see a download link for gapps. Any pictures? Coming from an other ROM which -local- way is suggested to restore data like mail settings if I do not use cloud services? TB?

Feel free to use whatever gapps you wish. CM's, PA's 0-day...
I spose I can take some screenshots.
Mail settings... I never really figured out how to transfer, at least not for my corporate email. For gmail, well that's simple. For my corporate email, I had to re-setup the account every time... I couldn't figure out how to backup the settings with TB even. Just a user/pass and the server... so I guess not a big deal, but a bit annoying.
Rom runs real well. I use it all the time...Video recorder does not work: "HFR not supported.." Not that important. Any solution?

I will rebuild and let you know if a fresh build exhibits the same behavior. I assume you are clean flashing?

Yes clean flashing. Sould add that other cameras than standard save video recordings.
New build in the OP, new host as well.... my old hosting is going away.
I found the camera would take video from the back cam, if you turned it down to 720p. Also, the vid cam that comes with the 'full' PA Gapps package seems to work fine, although I couldn't find a resolution setting there.
Keyboard etc fixes from crpalmer baked in.

Sorry folks, I don't blind build. I only develop for devices I own, which I can test on.
However, if there is CM then other ROM's can fairly easily be ported. Just a matter of someone with the device stepping up.
In the correct device area for 'just' the 12.2, there isn't much. I haven't seen CM yet. But I would like to someday build or port and help out others with the 12.2.
Are these builds still going?

As usual, this wouldn't be possible without all the hard work from @crpalmer and the CM team in general.
In fact he already did most of the bringup for Slim, so apologies for dragging on this one - I know people were waiting for it.
Enjoy! I am thinking I can keep up with the weekly schedule Slim does, I'll try to coordinate my builds with their weeklies as best I can.

Awesome. Of course this drops right as I'm heading out of town and can't flash, but that's how my life goes. If you're not sure you've got the right repo and such, ask the guys in the N5 thread. They often help people trying to make their own builds. Friendly bunch there. Thanks for your work on this (and of course crpalmer!).

See the post I quoted, it's fixed.
I've also fixed the keyboard issue... I guess I should play with different values, but the values used for CM didn't work... default is 4, crpalmer adjusted to 5... which worked for other ROM's. I just tried 15 for fun, and it worked.
Going to attempt 6 and see if that is good enough. I'm not sure what the negative effect would be of turning up this divider tho?
I finally got a chance to flash this and though I haven't tested everything possible, so far I've not encountered a single issue. I'm just thrilled to death. It's just like on my Nexus 5. I can't thank you, @arrrghhh (and of course @crpalmer for his device wizardry) enough.

lol, Slim likes to use a different DPI. I believe Slim is working towards a DPI updater on-the-fly... otherwise you'll have to adjust it in the build.prop.

Understood as to your statement of its utility, inasmuch as one person's feature is another's bloat. As to Groove IP rendered dead, it was given another span of life via the entity Ring.to. Swift to establish, and a host of additional numbers to grab. Works flawlessly.
I as you am dumbfounded by the superior quality of Hangouts for iOS.
Thanks for all you do.

I've noticed apps seem to treat the tablet as though it has a menu button. No three dot button in UI or menu button appears in soft keys. Is there a build.prop edit or something that can fix this?

And it may take till Christmas to get one. The Exynos processor in it makes it harder to work with, from what I understand. The 8.4 has the better supported Snapdragon 800 and is not too different from the Note 3.

Whoa! I thought you had already quit making roms. I used Slim as my everyday driver on my Nexus 5, here's hoping this one is as good!

Slim Doze is actually another name for Ambient Display. Originally when ambient display was on (after incoming notification), tap on the screen would unlock the device. To reduce the chances of a random unlocking, it is now changed to double tap.

can anyone give some screens?
I have switched from N Developer Preview and i miss one feature: "Quick Switch" (Double-tap recents to switch to last app). Please it's possible to backport this feature to Slim6? I have found this functionality in Xposed Android N-ify, but it looks like Xposed doesn't work on this rom.

Can't you hold recent to do that? Mine works like that..

No, it didn't work on my Slim6. I don't think on Slim6 is some action on double or long-press recent button. I want this https://youtu.be/cJT77ubdDnc?t=1m10s functionality.
Weekly build is postponed until Friday: https://twitter.com/SlimRoms/status/750689823007051776
I have found bug, but i don't know how to report it, i don't see anything in logcat.
Just use chrome, keep scrooling and switch network (turn off/on WiFi and connect to LTE or back to WiFi), chrome will freeze sometimes for 10, sometimes even 20 seconds. Other roms sometimes freezes in this situation for a second.
This is really anoying when i travel in train when connecton changes every few minutes.

To God be the glory! Another successful rom!
Paranoid Android meets AOKP and CyanogenMod, all in one rom. That's what PAC stands for. It is a CyanogenMod based rom with cherry picks from AOKP and PA so you can have some really great features. A little more streamlined that AOKP, yet a little more feature filled than CyanogenMod. If AOKP was too much to handle, but PA or CM is too bland, then this is the middle of the road rom for you!

International Installation instructions (F, G, and FY at this time, possibly others) :
-Put your phone on the 5.1.1 Bootloader and Modem
-Download ROM and gapps, and put them on your phone or external storage.
-Reboot into recovery mode - TWRP (I personally installed this using Mickey's 3.0.0-0).
-Backup what you had. (Just to be safe.)
-Wipe. (I personally wipe everything prior to flashing new roms, but at least do the basic wipe.)
-Install Rom.
-Install Gapps. - Optional

etc....
What doesn't :
Code:
- On the first run, the setup app will say it has crashed, hit okay, then proceed as normal.
- The edge panel is not implemented at this time. The screen wraps around the edge.
- I have not found any big errors, fault crashes, or problems yet. Please let me know if you find an issue!

Notes:
Here are some notes about the rom that I thought might help:
Random Reboot issues?
If you are having random reboot issues with the new kernel, you can adjust the settings as follows:
CPU max freq. 2496 MHz
GPU max freq. 500 MHz
CPU governor interactive
GPU governor msm-adreno-tz
I/O scheduler CFQ
That should solve your issue with the kernel. If you want, you may also flash this baseline kernel:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/h9b68aaon1yvr11/aokp_pac-mm-kernel-baseline.zip
This baseline kernel will always work just fine, however the battery life and performance are not as good as the AKLU kernel.
Root access:
Be sure to enable developer options so you can enable root access to apps and/or adb. In the developer options you can also set advanced reboot options!
If the screen looks red-ish, check the settings->display->live display options, you may want to turn them off, it is a low light sensitive display option.
Airplane mode - While switching between WiFi and regular data, on rare occasions, the phone will get stuck where you have data or WiFi with the ! mark and no connectivity. If this happens, you don't have to reboot, just hit airplane mode, give it a second, then hit it again to get everything working again.
T-Mobile users with device model = unknown:
If you are using a N915T (like myself), then after you flash the datazip file, you will notice that your phone reports itself as "unknown" to apps like XDA, TapTalk, About Phone, etc.
The fix is very easy!
-Open /system/build.prop in any text editor
-Anywhere in the file, add this line:
Code:
ro.build.model=SM-N915T
Save and exit, then reboot your phone. You can check "about phone" under settings, you should see yourself as SM-N915T, and apps like XDA should report you as Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.
Setting selinux to permissive:
See @oscarmaldonado post here for one of the many ways to do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69235667&postcount=17
Apps:
Side App Bar - This has a semi useful side "edge" bar feel.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=infamous.apps.appsbarfree
Swiftkey Keyboard - This keyboard can be set so the keyboard does not wrap around the screen.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey
Spen Command - This app cost a few dollars, but enables the Spen to be somewhat smart again, rather than just a pointer stick.

If you find something else that will help other users, please let me know by posting in the thread!

This would be a big change for me . I have the verzion version and little to no development. So looking forward to getting this . Keep up the good work
First and foremost thank you for bringing CM13 to the note edge ......Wanna point out a couple of things, on the PAC man bulid the fingerprint works on the lock screen however not with third party apps (Just tested with Lockdown Pro and assumeing is the same with other third party apps that can utilize fingerprint) On unicorn bulid fingerprint does not work on lock screen nor third party fingerprint apps (Also just tested with Lockdown Pro....) Unicorn has a navbar and Pacrom does not which is important since recent button does not work on both CM bulids.....If interested in using Pacrom cause of fingerprint I would suggest using LMT from XDA as it's a pie navbar and it looks cool just set it up to open recent.....On both bulids you cannot use your headphones to make calls or receive calls unfortunately you won't hear nothing but when you take them out you can hear your call......The battery lights in notification on both bulids doesn't let you pick the colors you want but keep on going threw colors you will find one you like well it's better then stock roms, green and red light I'm currently using a nice yellow light , unicorn rom obviously has way more customize options then pacman but fingerprint works on pacman so that says alot if fingerprint Is your thing if not go with unicorn ....Alternatives for spen
Are using spen command (My preference) or using CM spen add on app from the play store with Note buddy.......Both roms can be used as daily drivers if fingerprint Is added to unicorn in the future I will be leaving Pacrom and coming to unicorn as for now pacman is my AOSP driver of choice......

PoochyX,
Thanks for letting me know! I can't be on both ROMs at once, but I like your comparative analysis!
Yes, both ROMs need a little more "smoothing out", but hopefully we can get those things ironed out soon.
I have never had a phone with a finger print sensor, so making that part work is a learning curve for me.

Response
Alaska thank you for your immediate response, Alaska where do you think the headphones not being able to communicate with the calls is coming from, obviously it's not cause of the 5.1.1. bootloader cause on the T-Mobile resurrection remix bulid which was a lollipop bulid running on the same bootloader rom as your 2 bulids was having the same issue also the same with the 2 alpha CM bulids for this and the international models ......Same issue with recent button either not working or being mapped incorrectly across all T-Mobile AOSP bulids could it just be a note edge incompatibility or you see a fix in the future more for the headphones then recent button cause theres alot of Alternatives for recent button......Again thank you for your time and dedication if I get this job next week I will gladly donate to your cause......

PoochyX,
First and foremost, I do not accept any donations, I do this for fun!
As for the recents/headphones across all custom ROMs on this phone: we are using the great work of Mickey, Deadman, and OldDroid, who worked on this phone a year or two ago. I used their device trees as a base, and now am "pruning" these trees to be more functional. So for these initial builds, the problems that they had is problems that we have. However, it is my goal to work on and fix as many of these problems as I can, good Lord willing, and time allowing.
Currently I am working on the recent button.
Notice that the recent button does light when you press it? This screenshot shows that the kernel does know that the user pressed the button. So that is great news because the button does function, and is seen, just improperly mapped to a function.
While building, there is a file called sec_touchkey that specifically handles the two front touch buttons, so I have changed some of these values, and we shall see if that helps when I build again on Monday.
Hope that helps!

But to the dev of this ROM.. good to have new roms to try.. thank you very much.
Do you recoment a specific kernel?

Mellowed, Xposed, Rooted and BlinkFeedtefied
Also on the pac man ROM if you try to make a 911 call the phone automatically reboots....
Alaska I stand corrected the fingerprint does work also in the unicorn build......Unlike the pacman build right on setup it works....
With unicorn straight from setup it doesn't register you have to go to finger print in settings and do it like 2 times for one print to register also the 911 issue is in this build also so I'm assuming it's a CM bug

New build is up!
Praise God, a new build is up!
So, the OP has been updated with a new build. Not too many fixes yet, but you *should* be able to dirty flash this. I have tested the build, but as a clean flash, since I was jumping back and forth between other roms.
Change Log:

Still working on the recent button. This change did not fix it, but hopefully we can get that resolved soon, as well as a few other things.
Also, adding some new Governors to the kernel as we speak!

Huzzah new Governors! Always a win in my book.
I've noticed an issue with no sound in-calls on my n915T region (Australia). I'm going to strip apart the radio fix over the next few days, and check to make sure it isn't a simple case of incrorrect / missing CSC codes.

While I have walked the Gold Coast, and had beets on my burger in Brisbane, I currently reside in a much colder place. However, my N915T has no issues with sound during calls.
Perhaps the N910G datafix file may help you? Or one of the other datazip files?
