Currently no way to root on kitkat. You can revert to jellybean and root then flash a cwm zip. You have a tutorial written by me there.

Sorry to say that, but this method is not working on our device. I tried everything on KitKat rom - towelroot, framaroot, vroot, root, srsroot, kingroot... Nothing is working. Of Course I have phone with rom updated by KDZ to v.4.4.2. Would somebody have another idea?

its up to you but i would suggest you try a look if your phone bootloader can be unlock...if it can be unlock then i highly recommend you unlock it and flash custom kernel....custom kernel is very good since all custom kernel are pre-rooted and all have recovery by default (CWM/TWRP or Both).... that means you don't have to root your phone and install recovery again and again...
Good news is my phone can unlock the bootloader but the reason i want to root because i want clear my internal memory, 53 mb left and i want to transfer all my app to sd card and to remove bloatware app.. As far i know unlocking the bootloader will not help solve my problem, am i right?

We're not allowed to ask for the best rom/kernel so try some and find the best one for your usage
Btw remember unlocking your bootloader will void your warranty! You don't have to unlock it in order to root it

ICS will NEVER stop lag. Its ics feature (XD) if u want a unlaggy phone get JB or up with a 3.4xxx kernel. Mike's Legacy Xperia id a good choice , and its very suitable for a daily use. recently he gaved us a final CM10.1 version which i woul advice to you to try. :good::good: damn its so smoooth

Hmm,but unlocking bootloader wont help solve my problem like insufficient internal memory space and removing bloatware, am i right? When i try to check my phone with Root Checker, its say my device doesn't have proper root access. What that suppose to mean? Did i accidently delete a file or something else.. Or upgrading to ICS can help solve this 'root access' problem? Sorry i'm very noob at this..

For users who don't have one and I assume recovery is lost with a fresh firmware flash via FlashTool.
Ah I see where you are heading. Nah never unlocked the bootloader, just rooted it.

Yeah I took the plunge less than a week of having it
But I used Sony's website instead of FlashTool.
I had to upgrade to 314 to see if some of the problems I had with the Z2 were addressed. So far so Good, the double-tap to wake feature was spotty at best and now it works like a charm. Now to see if the proximity issue still exists...(The screen would stay off like it should on calls but the digitizer would still function!)
How can I add adb?
I'm guessing you're running the root but it's not finding adb, right?
If you don't have adb I'm sure it's on Google or these forums in hundreds of locations.
After you have it just put the contents of the root in the same directory as adb is.

For those wondering where the new version of rootkitXperia with the supersu v2.0.1 is... It is exactly the same link and 20140719 file name as it was before. Try downloading it again and re-rooting again.

Who said you had to install recovery?
Recovery was recommended because new firmware had problems with supersu 2.01 and you had to flash binaries from recovery...now that's history so there's no need for recovery...
Just root device and that's all...

You can try the root tool and let us know if it works. No harm trying. It'll fail to root at the worst.
ERT v11
I just used ERT v11 & tr.apk v3 to root .314 firmware. Worked on 2nd attempt mind you, basically cause I wasn't watching what I was doing lol. But it worked :victory: This was after using pc companion to update to .314 and it wiping my root on .402. But just to let you all know that ERT also works on .314

I tried : CF-Auto root & kingroot & farmaroot & iRoot
Hmm... that's odd. Did you try to root it after a factory reset? I remember I also had problems to root my device because it had updated the security policies because of the auto update and enabled WiFi. I had to reset it again to get Kingroot to work.
The CF Auto Root should work though since you flash it, unlike Kingroot, with Odin. But then again, I'm not sure if you attempted it from a fresh rom. (after a factory reset)

Did you try King root right after you updated to 5.1.1? Make sure your phone doesn't update the security policies after you upgraded to LP. Best would be to disable auto update in the playstore until you rooted your phone.
You may also use Kingoroot as an alternative to Kingroot. Let me know how it turned out.
