Use on Lollipop...
Hi, I have now Stock ROM Android 5.0 (with ROOT, TWRP, unlock...). I tried to use your kernel and phone start up without troubles.
But is recommended as kernel Manager Trickster MOD, but this app I can't run on Lollipop (in SuperSU has ROOT rights).
After that I want at least modify file 05s2w - I want turn on DoubleTap2Wake, but no file browser (Root explorer, ES File manager - both with root rights) can't save this file in this location and I can't change permissions.
Exist now any solution for this?
And in the end I want change color profile, but without aps as. Trickster, I don't know how...

second trickster mod works fine with Stericson's Busybox

Hi Guys,
My build number is LRX21M. Will this kernel work for me? I noticed it has LRX21T in the file name so wanted to make sure before flashing. BTW, what Lollipop ROM are you all using?
Thanks for any advice you can offer. I've been out of the modding scene for a couple years so I'm a bit unsure of myself now.

When coming from or to hells-core kernel do I need something to flash before or after your kernel? Or just flash the kernel? Thank you.

The Extended Quick Settings has a bug if you enable all of them to the pull down, So just leave one of the toggles hidden, like the mini+ tile and everything will be fine.

I made a stupid error and left a decompiled Settings folder in the system/app. It's not going to hurt anything just take up space.... delete it out of the zip or if you flashed already use a root file explorer and delete it. But I'm going to re upload it....
Why are the links all jacked up but great work.
Edit: On the computer I can see on the mobile app it looks crazy can't tell it's uploading apologizes.

Ok, so flash new 1.58.502.1 & then flash the kernel from M8Rx_HTC-One_M8_1.12.502.18_4-23-14? FYI, TWRP has worked fine on your other previous.
.
Link is back up, Fixed the decompiled folder I left in the system... sorry about that. Also the write protection module... forgot the init.sh to enable it.
It's solid now.... If your having trouble with WIFI try using the kernel posted in the op under the downloads.
But I suggest everyone return to stock and take the update.

Looking for a good eq for the s. Any suggestions?
I use PlayerPro and the DSP Pack for PlayerPro which adds a 10 band EQ. It's not free but I love the combination it really brings my music to life. I have to say I do feel the Samsung audio from the Tab S is much louder then my LG GPad 8.3 was that tablet the audio was just too low, full volume just did not come close to being load enough but PlayerPro with the DSP Pack made it nice and loud.

Thanks for the info! Will give it a try.
I use viper4android on all my devices. Best equalizer by far. So much fine control, you can make your music sound exactly how you want it.
Only downside for some people is that it requires root. If you're not rooted/don't want to root, it wont work.

There's a fix somewhere in the q&a section. Just curious, is your se for android set to permission? It's in the about device section in settings in case you don't know.
When I get home I will see if it's set to permission. Anyway this is the only application that I have problems with it. The other ones that require root ( and busybox of course) are working without any problem.
L. E. SE for Android it says : Enforcing. It is ok?

Download SELinux Mode Changer from play store and set to permissive. May not work with Knox though. See if that fixes it.
Ok so I've downloaded the SeLinux Mode Changer, it grants superuser permission but when I set it to permissive, if I quit and enter the app is back on enforcing, also if I set it to permissive and press the home button and go to about device still Enforcing. I've disabled Knox, and freezed all the apps and services with Titanium Backup.
Any ideas?

No idea then... Installing a custom rom such as iron rom would work? It worked when I had iron rom on my tab s. Drivers worked fine on iron rom. So it must be a rom realted issue as it works fine on iron rom.
I'm happy with this ROM plus I've found that SkyHigh kernel has some audio options stuff. It is quite good ( the kernel ) so I can live without viper4android . Thanks for all the answers!

Back with the question again, since I've updated to 5.0.2 and the kernel can't be set to permissive, besides ViperFX (wich I can't install on my tab S) what are other alternatives to it?
Thank you!
First you will need a permissive kernel, sky high is a great kernel for lollipop and is permissive or http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/how-to-installing-viper4android-v4a-t3136025 instead of kernel. Go to system/priv-app rename SoundAlive_Tablet_20 to SoundAlive_Tablet_20.bak . Next Go to system/lib/soundfx rename libaudiosa_sec.so to libaudiosa_sec.so.bak, Next system/lib rename libaudiosa.so to libaudiosa.so.bak. install v4a reboot and enjoy v4a on stock samsung music player.
Thanks to @UpInTheAir for his great kernel
Thanks to the creator of v4a and the maintainer @zhuhang
Thanks to @3DSammy for the supersu policy info and thread
Thanks to @basic086 for the great music player he ported in his tw detox v3 rom
You do not need a permissive kernel anymore as you can use a SuperSU policy instead. Using a SuperSU policy is more secure plus is your only viable option if you rooted without tripping knox and use stock which does not allow permissive mode. Look in the general section for a V4A how to. It is targeted at Lollipop but the SuperSU policy flash file link could be used with KitKat.

This kernel should work, also zombie will work.
Btw zombie kernel has best dt2w implementation so far,but it need to be inabled by writing init.d script.
Should I unlock the bootloader to use this ROM?

Thanks for that, advance features like dt2w and ckal control aren't working though but I think those need custom kernel so that's a no go for locked device like mine. Flashlight on quick settings isn't working. Sound enhancement is fantastic, I thought I forgot viper4android for a while. Will test more on this.

DT2W is kernel related, and implemented a bit differently, so it can be either enabled in kernel or not. Switch won't make difference.
Flashlight also won't work, as we don't have it.
Rom was made for z3, which have a physical flash.
In order to make kcal working you need to enable init.d
To do so, you need to go to your external SD card and locate XZDualRecovery folder.
There you fill find a XZDR.prop file.
Enable init.d by setting this line:
dr.initd.active=true
And reboot your phone.

You can just flash Xposed uninstaller, no need to reflash rom.
Gravity is more for aosp, use Serajr module.
With root.
You can try to unroot with SuperSu, in the settings.
Then either try to install it from market,or flash the super su zip.
Did you wipe system before installing?
As I don't have root problem.

To be honest it had a bit of panick an hour before leaving for work. Cos the rom went in loop and it wont let me boot into recovery. So I had to use flashtool to hotboot dual recovery and reflash (all just by activating gravitybox in xposed). But now sorted.

ES FILE EXPLORER and ROOT EXPLORER don't have root...I enable root access as Enable Root pop-up appears but nothing happens....I redownloaded rom like 3 times, thinking maybe a bad d/l....cleaned flashed like 5 times still no dice....have no idea why...can't delete system apps or make any modifications...

Hello! First of all, my english is not the best so ill try to do it quickly. Some of you may know, or maybe not, but on MIUI only 2 cores works by default, to get the 4 cores working you need to use the "Performance" profile on battery settings, so, you can fix this with any custom kernel, or now, you can flash this zip.
This will enable your 4 cores to being used when you need them without using the "Performance" profile, plus you will get some optimizations that i added so you will feel MIUI like you never done before. Well, lets go for it!
This fix works for MI 3 and MI 4
Things that fix do:
- Allows you to use the 4 core and not only 2
- Better multitasking(Follow recomendations steps)
- Stops some useless services
- Tweaks the VM for better performance
- Tune-up the Interactive Governor for battery without losing performance
Latest Version
Now there is two versions, one a bit focused on battery and the other on performance so, youre free to test and choose
Battery: http://www.mediafire.com/file/moidapk07hfwsch/FIX_Nasus_v15_Bat.zip
(Updated) Performance: http://www.mediafire.com/file/bmcuu3x1cxqma6k/FIX_Nasus_v15.4.zip
Note: If you are comming from any verson after 8.2 of the fix you can just flash the latest version without any problem. Or if its your first time flashing this just go for the latest version.
Apps to test this
CPU Float: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.waterdaaan.cpufloat
With this app you can see that by default MIUI only uses 2 cores and when the battery temperature gets kinda high(which is most of time) the frecuency locks at 1.19 ghz, with the fix the frecuency will step down the frec one by one so you wont feel the lag that hard and it wont overheat that easy as usually MIUI do.
Instalation:
Just flash it on TWRP, you dont need to wipe anything.
Recomendations:
Go to delevoper settings and turn off Memory Optimization so the fix will work perfect without any MIUI locks.
Turning off MIUI Optimizations its optional since it do not change anything to the fix, its just if you have problems with some apps, that will be because of the MIUI optimizations. Turning off this will also allow you to make your MIUI more like android stock in term of how apps works and how they dont get close and just get all permissions that they need, since you will be able to disable all MIUI permissions manager and battery saver.
Thats all! If you have any question just ask for it, ill answer ASAP!
Enjoy

Hi. Thanks to you for your works. But tell me please, what is mpdecision file using in your patch?
And which changes in other files?
Thanks.
Update Bard 8.6
Changes on virtual memory and seeder deleted, not worth with actual virtual memory changes
Does this work with pisces?
Hello, thank you for this zip it works fine. Do you have any zip that removed or disables all useless Miui apps and services?
Currently testing your cpufix on my Mi3(cancro) running the latest stable MIUI8 china rom. Device feels snappier than before. I am loving it. But I observe no significant difference in terms of battery saving. Will continue to test for another 48-72 hours and post my conclusion. Thanks.
Update(this was released a few time ago, but i had no time to post it here). Cassiopeia v9.3
A few updates ago i just changed one of the files and now the 4 cores works kinda most of time, and btw, i did a few test and leaving the 4 cores on all time uses less battery than normal way to turn on and off the cores. Also did some changes for better performance without losing battery life. The file its on the OP.
Enjoy <3

The download link works for me.
Btw, if I were to flash this zip. Is there any way to restore to the original (uninstall)?
I'm interested to give this a try but afraid if things doesn't work there's no way for me to revert.
Any thoughts?

Do you mean that I need to extract the original files from my phone first (as backup)? In case I want to restore, I will need to use them later?
Is that what you mean?

You will not need to revert this. Just do a TWRP backup and flash it, just the "system" backup is necesary

When I read your first post again, it sounds like its fixing a flaw in MIUI. What if I am not using MIUI but other custom ROMs. Will this be useful? I used to be on Lineage OS 14.1. Recently I moved to AOSiP 6.2, both of which are buttery smooth. What's you think?
