[Q] How to get apk from market if it means incompatible device?

Do you know a way to get an apk of an app if the market means the device is incompatible?
android 2.3 avds you also can't install market on to do that :/
Why isn't it possible to download the apk file?
If there is no way may someone dump the app from that one, please and attach it here?
Thanks.

it may be that this app is really incompatible with your device,
or
there are 3 things which sometimes block me from installing apps from market:
- custom screen density (I have 180 set in build.prop), setting it back to 240 helps in some cases
- new market (3.x) seems to have some different rules for establishing compatibility, I've found that going back to the old version (2.x) solves most problems (one notable example being CoolReader, which absolutely refused to install under 3.x, and went smoothly from 2.x market), there's a nice app for switching between versions - Old Market
- Settings / Language - in some rare cases setting the language to English helps, although it's probably not the case with the app you want
Theres an .apk called market fixer with that you can download all the apps again! Or at least there is for the nexus s... its probably for all devices though.
You have to be rooted and have busy box installed then you can install itvand it showes you all apps on the market again... i didnt find where i got it from but just seach the forum or the web!
THank you guys. I neither find "market fixer" nor "itvand"
I guess it's my screen resolution (its ldpi. x10 mini pro) that it won't show apps that are made for bigger screens. but I found out that many apps are just not tested against ldpi but work fine, too.
and thus i ned a way to get the apks of apps I like to test against my mimmi.
I you have further ideas or links, let me know I will do further research
Everywhere i looked they postet this as a downloadlink for the fix.apk: jrummy16.com/jrummy/testing/
But i dont see the .apk there.
What apps do you want to download? I think you should still be able to see the apps on the market even if they dont work on your device! I had the same issue and tqhe fix.apk fixed it...

Will Google Maps work on NT?

I ask because in Android Market it shows as not compatible with the NT. I am rooted.
You can side load the apk, or modify the build prop as described over in the google apps thread.
I have both Google Maps and Google Earth running by copying the files from my Droid and side loading. The NT is not even rooted yet, and both work fine.
Wow. You didn't have to change the display dpi to do it?

As far as I know, the DPI trick was needed only to allow the Google Market to display additional applications which were deemed incompatible with the NT's default DPI setting. Since these people side-loaded, that wasn't an issue.
Visit This thread to see a list of side-loaded apps, including the Google Services Framework which is necessary to run these apps.
Experts - please feel free to correct me. I'm only summarizing information I've read.
Edit/clarification - To side-load these apps you don't need to even use the Google Market. Just click on the links in the thread I provided to download the APK and install as you please.

DPI / Market issue

Hi All,
I have a question, which I am sure has been raised many many times, but through the use of a quick search - was unable to find anything specifically relevant, and the fact that I am at work, I dont have much time to sit there and brouse websites and threads all day.
Anywho, with the change over from Market (play store) 3.5.19 to Market (play store) 3.7.13 - the issue of DPI change has made the market make multiple apps disappear, and say "not avaliable on your device" or something along those lines if you manually go to the apps page.
The way to fix this is to obviously change the DPI back to 240 from (200 or 186 or custom etc) then reboot and the apps will reappear....
But my question is, is there a way to fool the market into believing you have 240dpi the whole time, so i dont have to keep restarting my phone everytime i want to use a custom DPI - the previous market version 3.5.19 worked fine, but the newer one does not. And although it is fairly simple to change the DPI back to 240 then reboot and apply all upgrades to apps, then back again, I assume everyone would prefer a more permanent fixed solution...
Maybe there is already one out there, i am unsure, if anyone could point me to the right direction, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I believe there is a multi-dpi market apk floating around. Can't point you to the though sorry, on phone.
try the dpi 188 or 160~
and try to clear the data of GoogleServicesFramework and Market before you reboot~
220 worked fine for me
ok seems as tho i keep getting errors when i try to delete data from google framework and play store. im going to have to hunt down the multi-dpi market place...

(SOLVED) Google Play Store Problem Due To DPI Change

Hi
I have change my screen resolution down to 290 .
I then went to purchase jkay dwlxe settings.
I started to receive messages in play store saying device not supported. After searching i found what i had hoped was a resolution.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684671
so I installed a patched vending apk which I wished should have sorted the problem but still getting same message.
Even though that was in the nexus section, as it was replacing apk files I thought it would work but no joy.
Has anyone else had same problem and how did you fix this please.
Please help
Edit. If anyone has any issues then this is the easiest fix I could find

Re: Google Play Store Problem Due To DPI Change
Clear market data and Google services framework data, reboot and all should be good
Edit, that's an unusual dpi, try 280 or 300
Re: Google Play Store Problem Due To DPI Change
Thanks for your response. Done all that but no joy. Have even tried 280 and other values before asking question.
Any other ideas please
Re: Google Play Store Problem Due To DPI Change
I really hope someone can help
Re: Google Play Store Problem Due To DPI Change
Change it to a stock DPI and then download the app and then revert to 280

Try clearing the data for the Play Store app in Application Manager.
Nice colors, by the way. I like the action bar icons/battery. I've done something similar before.
Thanks !! I've tried that, cleared all app date etc.. It didn't work. I'm perplexed lol

I'm not sure what else to suggest. You could try removing your Google account from the phone and re-adding it.
Ahhh great minds, yeah I did that too ! Thanks a lot for the suggestions I appreciate it I'll keep playing around with it see if I can fix this bug if it is one
