This is what I found on Google's android training, however, I still seem to be confused. I'm trying to ask the user to use their default file explorer to find a txt file and feed it to my app to use. I don't know why I haven't been able to figure this out in over an hour, because it seems rather simple. It would be appreciated if a dev could help me here.

I searched file posted here and found some information. Here my problem, using the ES Explore to change file names based on the recommendations posted. It does not allow me to change the names. In another post it ask me to change another file in the card but I am unable to find that file.
Why this can be more simple, flashing your Rom or installing an update any other way rather than what is being provided. Not complaining, it may a reason for. I just recommending to make it more friendly user for the that may need a book like Thunderbolt for Dummy. \\\ I have already paid for some of the applications provided and it has been very useful but, this VZ update is a pain in real.
Lately the VZ has become a hemorrhoid you where and is very anoint by keep getting you phone in order just about each day.
Any help or recommendation is appreciated and I thank you in advance.

Don't think there is a way to stop it other than taking it.

Hi guys,
so i've recently downloaded installed and bought faceniff.
i really like the app, but i was wondering if there was a way to make it show the full password.
i've decompiled the apk, and i have looked at it for a while but i cant seem to make sense of it all. i have some experience in C++ and C, also PHP VB.NET etc but not in java.
has anyone looked into this ?
when the code is found it shouldn't be too much work, only thing i need help with is finding the code that puts the ***'s over the middle of the password.

I am extremely new to the world of smartphones and shell commands and tar files, etc. I'm looking for recommendations of websites, online videos, anything like that to learn as much a possible about not only Android but also writing scripts and knowing what the difference is between ROM and RAM and why it's called a kernel, writing code, stuff like that. I made a pretty cool weather app with Tasker and Zoom that I get a generic xml weather report for that is suppose to come from a soap request but I can't figure out how to generate one. I downloaded nusoap to my phone but can't figure out how to install it using Android terminal emulator. Is there an alternative to T.E. I could use? It constantly telling me "permission denied" is very frustrating. Currently no computer so please make sure any advice is phone friendly. And any help with terminal emulator would be beyond great. But please keep it as simple as possible and pretend I'm 4 years old. I'm not kidding. Sorry this is sooooo long, it's my first post and this is about a quarter of what I wanted to ask. Thank you very much in advance.
The only help I can give you is don't be afraid to search google. Out of 7 billion people, atleast 1 other person would have had the same problem
For me was pretty simple: get to know your phone (use the subforuns to find yours) > get to know android on your phone > start experimenting.
And read, read, read!

Hello everyone,
I need pointed to the right forum.
I recently purchased the above phone, my landphone died, this came second hand from eBay. It works perfectly, but I mainly wanted it because its Android, and I can use my Google contacts and not have to input them one by one. And because its Android!
The specs are on a photo attatched below. It is rooted with SU app installed and working.
I downloaded zipped Gapps for 2.3.5, extracted to folder, then put the folder on the ExtSD, then to IntSD.
My problem is this, it shipped with the SlideMe market, I'm trying, and failing to get Google Play sideloaded on it. There is no option to add a Google account of course, if I try to direct install, it gives the message "you need to add a google account", if I click yes, the app fc's. If I push the app to system/app, the same occurs.
I'm not the most technical Android guy, but I've been flashing etc, for a few years now, on various makes and models, but this has me stumped. I've had to flash Gapps before for ROM's, I've sideloaded apps too, but am I missing something here. What gives the extra option to add a Google account? I've done this before on a few tablets etc, never had a problem.
Where is it best to post/get some help? (and hopefully not be laughed at to hard!)

"We know that creating an apk file is common now. But lemme ask you, Im just a beginner though I modify apps. Is there any way to create such file without using pc? I wonder. I think almost all of the turorials on youtube requires pc. I did not see no pc yet.
Also, I just created some app but its useless. I dont know how to use onClick. And, how to use button like for example, i will click this button it will open another page.
