In my search for a good N6 case, I finally decided to pick this one up from the AT&T store (LINK). It has a nice, premium feel to it, and has magnets to turn the screen on/off when opening. At first glance, it's identical to what's shown on the Play Store (LINK), but there are a few differences in the card openings and stitching. I really like the speaker cut-outs, allowing you to talk on the phone while it's closed. So far, I'm quite impressed.
UPDATE 1: If you want to use it as a wallet and place credit cards or ID inside, be mindful that the flap doesn't close flat. I'm personally not using the case for that purpose, but this is the only issue I've discovered.
UPDATE 2: Wireless charging still works with the case on.
UPDATE 3: After a few weeks of use, there have been several frayed threads coming loose in between the the outer and inner surface of the flaps. I've cut them with scissors, but more are showing up. For a $40 case, this shouldn't be an issue. The edges should've been bonded together so these threads weren't prone to exposure. I like the functionality of this case, but this is disappointing.

That looks like a good, less expensive alternative. There seems to be no cut-out for the bottom speaker, so I'm wondering if that would affect calls while closed.
How easy is it to fold the cover 180°? Or is it possible at all?

It folds 180° just fine. Doesn't stay flat due to the phone's curved back, but still usable.

Does anyone know if this case has a sleep sensor? That would be a killer case if it does, does the Nexus 6 even have the sleep sensor functionality? I remember the Nexus 5 did and wallet cases made full use of it. Wonder if the Nexus 6 will be the same

This is capable of "sleeping" and "waking" the phone when the flap opens or closes, just like pressing the power button.
Thanks for the information on the charger. One more question---are there cutouts for the volume and power buttons, or are they covered by the case frame? Also are there magnets to keep it closed (I noticed that reviews of this same case for other phones stated that there were no magnets, despite the description saying that there were.)

The buttons are covered by the case frame. The case has it's own raised buttons that mimic the phone's. You can see them in one of the photos I posted at the top.

There aren't any magnets to keep it shut, only small ones for the sleep/wake functionality.
Picked this case up a few day's ago.... No complaints from me!! Love the added protection for the entire phone when I'm taking it in and out of my pockets, or laying it face down on my desk at work... :good:
Are the volume and power controls fairly stable (not loose), and are they responsive? Thanks for answering my questions. I'm starting to feel like I'm interrogating you---hope you don't feel that way. Your answers are very helpful.

Not a problem! The buttons have a tiny amount of play side-to-side, but are very responsive and stay raised. They are very similar to what's on the actual phone.
I hope casemate makes a gelli case like the one for the new moto x
Not for me
Let me prefix by saying this phone needs a case. It's too unwieldy to go alone without some kind of screen & fall protection.
I went to the local T-Mobile store, since I was nearby, just to check if they had the case. I was surprised to see this case in-store as it's still not on sale on the google play store. This is the one I was waiting on, and I was ready to purchase! I removed this case from the box, the construction feels like junk. Complete and utter junk. Then, to my surprise, I found broken pieces floating around in the case. There's no way I was going with that one.
Then I grab the clear case (same one on google play store), which is not what I want, but I need a temporary solution (other than my rag) so I don't mess up my $700 device. I open the box to that, and I just couldn't do it. The case for that is so bad and it has one of those cheap, crappy kick stands. I was kinda hoping for something like my SO got off Moto's site, which is similar to this one), but for her Moto X (2013).
I've got some D-Brand skins on the way, and I hope to wrap a good Amazon folio case around soon all that soon. Something I can remove at the end of the day and enjoy my nude phone. :good:
What case did you look at bro? this case is nice and sturdy and build pretty well..
i just got it and love it..especially love the fact that it turns my screen off and on when opening flip cover..
I'm planning to use this case on my mountek magnetic carmount, by inserting a metal plate in the back of the case for extra grip. Seeing that the back of your case sort of folds, would you say there's room for the metal plate? Can't tell from your photo's how exactly it is constructed. See below pic to see what I mean

It should work. There's a hard shell case under the folding material that you can attach the plate, similar to your photo.

I don't know if you already saw this, but on february is going to be out a new official case from HTC for the HD, it's the Flip Case PO S421
http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=176954
If you click on the larger photo, you can see more about the case.
One question, how the hell this case prevents from opening itself ??
I managed to score one and it's not too shabby in terms of quality vs price.
There are 2 problems though:
1. No camera hole
2. Difficult to answer phone by one hand
Then again, when it's fully closed it looks quite nice.
The way it secures itself is by using a vertical solid flap-hook-like struct, which sort of press against the hd to keep the flap in place.
I have been using this case for about a week and that hook bends a little bit, now it becomes easier to open, but I'm concerned it may lose it's form which may be difficult to keep the front flap in place.

I thought these cases are not available until end of Feb? Where did you manage to get one (which u have been using for a week...) ???
Can you post some pics with your HD in it.
Is it available for sale now anywhere?
Thanks.
I'm in Taiwan at the moment and it appears that we could get the official case earlier than other regions.
Generally, it is difficult to get the HD here as it has been out of stock for quite some time - may be margins are better overseas?

Yes, it's a pity. By the way, not having a camera hole seems to be a bigger disappointment. What were they thinking?
But for 11 pounds I'll get one for myself anyway... It seems to be much slimmer and lighter than most of the other options (I'm not considering the silicon ones to be real "cases").

I agree. It could be the the original version. Not available in UK yet
hi guys, just a quick update about this case. If you have managed to put protective layer (other than the touch screen), it is likely to peel off on the side where the flip clamps onto the device.
My is starting to show up the wear on the protective layer (as open & closing causes "rubbing effect").
I personally do not like this case for a few reasons:
1) It does not completely cover all paint work. It is still easy to scratch the phone.
2) What do you do when you need to put this GPS on the car holder? Take it out of the case? You're now completely explosed without protection again.
I prefer the silicon case. Withe screen protector in front and the silicoin case covering every other part of the body including volume rocker and power swtich, we only have the ear phone jack, usb port, and stylus area exposed, so the protection is more complete. Also, the whole thing including the soft case is clamped on the car holder. No belt loop. Just put the whole thing in the pocket (without the keys and coins of course).
Received today from mobilefun. This is the best case and cheapest. HTC has taken time to deliver but atleast they have given the best one. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Thanks dr_s and one more question, would the case hold the phone still at a viewing angle when you flip over the top part and lay it on a flat surface... like for watching something on a plane by leaving it on the tray in front of you I mean.
I've found this HTC case for the Touch HD which clips on to my belt.
Have been very happy with it, looks good, is secure and delivery was fast.

Sorry for replying late.
Nope, it doesn't hold HD in a viewing position after flipping it open, because the hinge part is soft leather and it is supposed to open fully to the back so one can use it during calls by holding the open cover folded fully back.
Thanks again for the reply dr_s, 10 days for my next plane trip so no problem about the late reply Pity it won't hold it that way but I am still thinking of getting this case and I might be able to get a nice viewing angle by sticking the top part of the case between the seat and tray while the tray closed... I will experiment and report back
Just got two of these after seeing that the guy that makes (designs them) them actually is on XDA a lot and was very helpful while NOT hocking his product everywhere.
*UPDATED*
Originally the case covered part of the upper mic. I just removed the upper portion of the case and realigned it so the mic was centered when I re-attached that case. To easy. That was really the only draw back I had.
Pro's
1- Delivery was fast
2- Case was cheap (9$)
3- Shipping was (5$ for both)
4- Case is VERY low profile
5- Mat Black is oh so smooth and the front rim is a nice glossy black with more grip to it. This is nice as it makes it easy to hang on to.
6- Back design icon is cool looking
7- Kick stand still easy to access
8- Nice port access
9- Doesn't pull my Zagg Invishield HD screen cover off
10- Easy to get on and off
11- Doesn't scratch my phones finish
12- VERY light weight
13- Mat black with red highlights of the phone looks very sexy and pro
14- phone still fits in my pocket easily and doesn't collect dust etc.
15- Snug fit on the phone
16- Bezel is high enough on the front that my phone screen doesn't touch anything when laid on its face.
17- Camera is protected by slight bezel around it.
18- No "case buttons"...you still access the phones buttons which are nice
Con's
1- Power button is a little hard to depress initially but this is because the button is so high on the phones profile. Case flexes to alleviate this after a few uses though. I don't think this is the cases fault
2- Not many styles - My wife liked the Green Cruizer Lite better but not that much better. The android pattern on those cases looked cool but I don't know...after a while I do like the professional and sleek design of the Diztronic better. Plus the Cruizer Lite *looked* a little more bulky
mind attaching a pic?
shipping is only 2.50 on his ebay page.
good review
wish it came with a screen protector (thought it did bc it did with other phones, but it didnt).
note: you can readjust the case starting from the top of the phone to align the mic you said was covered. i noticed it blocked mine after reading your review so i took it off and readjusted the case and it doesnt cover it anymore
Mine doesn't block the upper microphone at all?
Neither does mine. Every port lines up perfect, just like on my RAZR Maxx and EpTouch cases.

*Updated Review*
Got mine in today and it fits nicely and looks good, I just have one main complaint about it....should of covered the buttons...after holding it in hand those holes in the case on the sides get annoying to me, and the thin strip where the volume rocker is, is so flimsy im almost scared it might stretch too much over time, or break...havent had a TPU case with buttons covered that the function was more difficult than the phone without the case on, so dont really see the reasoning why to leave them open now...
to each their own though i guess...
I received my cases as well today. Originally I liked the high gloss translucent one best because it just looks really sharp. After just a couple of hours though, it was covered in smudges and fingerprints(like anything glossy).
The fit on both of the cases I received are spot on. Snug fit, all my buttons/openings line up perfectly, and doesn't add much bulk. Simply great cases for the cost.
I will be sticking with the matte black one for the foreseeable future based on just the smudge factor.
Got to tell you - after listening to so many recommendations from the group here I decided to get the case and boy, I am so glad I did.
The case is snug with minimal footprint, all cut outs match perfectly (prefer this from covered) and the flat black matte just compliments the Evo. The kickstand is also easily accessible and it got here ahead of schedule..
Two thumbs up!
Got my case today as well. Now only if I had the phone to put it in....

Yeah case looks good overall, though I wish they had a version that covered the buttons and port so that the phone would be more water resistant (read: not waterproof, but at least ports/button holes would be protected from drippy hands at the least). Also, as people mentioned, it would be easier to precisely hit the various buttons if they weren't beneath the lip of the case.

Interested in how you fixed the buttons. That's the only thing I don't like with this case
Nice pictures. But...
I absolutely hated this case personally. Makes the phone feel huge and bulky, just cheap overall. The sides don't fit very well (bow out) -- flimsy plastic, buttons are a loose plastic mess, it's bulky and feels cheap. Just not worth the price tag when compared to other cases.
@Ellingsoc .. I'll have that video posted in a few days. You will love how much nicer the buttons become.
@Andromjb.. Was the bowing because of the way the bumper was seated on the tpu case? It took me a while before I got the fitment to be perfect because I didn't realize the two pieces weren't in place correctly
Can you explain it haha these buttons are driving me nuts
I really want people to go to the video for that info. But I'll PM you.

Could have just been my particular case as I applied it multiple ways, but it never fit 100% correctly no matter how hard I tried.
Bottom would always bulge leaving the plastic rough to touch while handling (on the upper backside area by microphone). Top was a tedious task of maneuvering the soft rubber backing to fit correctly without getting stuck underneath the outer plastic shell. Plastic sides were flimsy. Unappealing loose cheap plastic buttons which were always in the way.
I was always accidentally hitting/pressing the volume rockers or turning the screen off while just trying to hold the phone.
Just bad design, imho.
Try out a Ringke MAX. You'll see a major difference in quality and features for the same (actually cheaper) price point.
the way i put the case on was to first align the bumper and tpu perfectly. Then I would hold the left and right sides firmly and put the phone in bottom side first. Snap the top corners in while pressing the phone downwards to the bottom of the case. Works perfect every time so far!
@Ellingsoc .. I pm'ed you bout the buttons btw. Nothing shows in my sent box though. If you didnt get it send me a pm and ill respond to that one

Even in the pictures you have taken with your case, it is showing a minor glimpse of what I was experiencing. I think you may have gotten a better quality case from manufacturing or perhaps they have made stealth revisions since as mine was a lot worse even with proper applications.
See attachment below -- which was the rough touch edge I referred to from previous comments.

It's just the way the case is designed. It goes on a bit too snug, so it leaves some parts a bit uneven which returns poor results and rough edges.
I'm not trying to say the case is terrible. I just want people to be informed of the certain flaws and quality before they end up spending $19+ while they have other options available for less.

I love this N6, kinda, wish it was smaller, but obviously nobody can do anything about that.
but I can not type at all when the phone is on my desk because the damn thing wobbles all the time. I want a bumper or something that would "protect" the edge, and would stop the wobble.

Try holding the phone in your hands instead of laying it on a desk. Even if the phone didn't rock, it is still impossible to type as if it was a normal keyboard.

i had no problem with my S5 on the desk., my question still stands, I would like a case that will stop the phone from wobbling.
Rinke Fusion and max both have a back surface that reduce wobble. I use the Fusion clear with a dbrand skin. Works well. Looks good. Has very "grippy" sides, so it feels very secure when holding it. Doesn't add much bulk to the phone. Protects headphone and USB ports. All around my favorite case, and I tried several from spigen, ringke, and 2 others makers I can't seem to remember the names of.
This issue has bothered me since i got the phone. As far as I know, there is no case that flattens the back I looked.
So this is what I did.

I had a Tylt qi charging dock, and some extra self adhesive velcro. Now I can use it while it's charging and type without it rocking. It works quite well.

Haa.. great idea, but at the table, libaray, i might get a thin case and do something kinda like that .. the size and the back are the things that will eventualy have me getting a S5 from Tmo and putting CM on it.

I got two words for you... Rubber band. Put a round rubber band on a table and then put the phone right at center. It stops wobbling and spinning.
great idea, but i am not carrying rubberbands.. man , i hope they come out wih something a little smaller and less of a pain soon, and that is clean of crapware.
Sounds like you need an iPhone. Problem solved.

I love this N6, kinda, wish it was smaller, but obviously nobody can do anything about that.
but I can not type at all when the phone is on my desk because the damn thing wobbles all the time. I want a bumper or something that would "protect" the edge, and would stop the wobble.
ideas?

This bothered me too. So i tried some clear "dots" . They are about 1/16" tall and if positioned correctly the phone stays rock solid while typing on the desk.
Also, they add almost no depth to the phone because they are placed downhill from the apex of the curve.
Maybe not the most elegant solution but it works.
Crazy all the issues that come up. It never would have occurred to me to try to use the phone while it was laying on a desk. I can think of a million rejoinders (uhh....pick it up?). But LRFs (little rubber feet) are probably the best solution.
Case Found!
I found a flat case for the Nexus 6:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RYRT18Y
There are a couple caveats:
1. It makes the phone a bit bulky. Of course there's really no way around that if you want a flat case. The phone is pretty fat at that curve on the back.
2. I found the case is not compatible with one of three wireless chargers. This one FAILS:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QNXWLQE
[UPDATE - Turns out the charger works fine - it just needs more juice due to this case. I plugged it into the wall instead of a USB port and it's charging again. Thus I can now wholeheartedly recommend this case, as long as you don't mind the extra bulk.]
This style works fine (contrary to some posts saying it doesn't work with the Nexus 6, it works for me):

This one works when positioned right ( a little off center):

I was going to comment earlier but there's no 'slim' case that would prevent the wobbling. I got a larger trident case on my phone now and while it reduces it, there's a very mild type of spinning that can happen. Especially if you are swiping. Glad you found a case though.
If that one doesn't work out, I think the ballistic would be right up your alley to try.
I use one of those plastic bead filled wrist rests.

The key for me is that the anti-wobble solution can't block wireless charging. Some folks have used a slim case and added rubber dots along the thin edges, though I imagine most of those bumps would end up stuck in my pocket. Ideally I'd like a silicone slim case with built-in bumps along the edge. They would help for both stabilizing and gripping the phone without adding so much bulk.
I'm telling you, best slim case that helps with wobble is the Ringke Fusion. It's not perfect, but what is. After all, you bought a round phone dude...

I just got the CellBee Life Companion case (with holster) today, and it also provides a raised, non-wobble back for the phone.
EDIT: Link that has pics

Thought I'd share. I fell in love with these bumpers for my iPhone 6 / Nexus 6P, and am glad to see the OP5 will be getting one as well.

Per their site - "The current estimated release date is Mid of August (subject to change)." Kind of a bummer, but well worth the wait imo.
I really think about buying one of these, but how does it feel in the hand? Will the curve of the back be completely gone?
I like these cases, but the one for the 3T was terrible. Hopefully they fixed the problems that they had with The 3t

just because it survived didnt make it not terrible. it was hard to put on, and once you got it on, it bulged out around the slider and kept it from working properly. nice, but flawed.
agree that it would be nice if they fix those issues on the next version.

It does protect the phone. However it was so tight that you had to put so much force on the phone to take it off. The volume and home button were so hard to press, you had press really hard and maybe it would register.
dont forget the last one pulled off tempered glass screen protectors (Pulled off my curved official one which i'll remind people is £17) I was so pissed off, complained then they said there was nothing they could do and then added the disclaimer on the page saying the bumper didn't work with the glass.....never again

On my 6P, The sides of the bumper extend far enough to make it lay flat and solid on a table, which is part of the protection. Since the back is completely open beyond that, any curve will be apparent.

yeah, but on the OP5, the sides are curved, not the back, so you won't feels those anymore, right?

Agree, I had it for the 3T, the buttons and slider were really stiff and not very impressive at all, the fit was fine but that's not difficult as it only has to go round the edges, it raised the phone off the bottom nicely though and there was a sufficient lip to protect the screen, will be interested to see this new one.
Thanks for sharing! Loved the one I had for my Nexus 6, the one I used for the 3 was awful so got rid of it pretty quickly. I'll most likely be trying this one out!
Wonder how much width it adds to the phone. From the picture, it looks slim. But looking at the op3 version, it's a little too much width.
Pre-ordered today. Coupon code ready4school worked for 15%. Helps with shipping.
Took a while to finally decide on it but I really don't like any cases out so far. The phone looks great naked and I think I'd rather go that route with this bumper. Might get a dbrand skin too..

I had this on the 6p and although it was a good case, the back of the phone was exposed, when you dragged it along the edge of a desk, the back of the phone did make contact towards the upper part of the middle of the phone, not sure i'd buy the Rhino again.
I've ordered mine too, still hasn't shipped though.
I had it on my 6P too.
Loved it then.
So one more is enroute for my OP5.
Hope it arrives soon to India....

They addressed that issue as far as being extremely difficult to put on and take off the phone:
Our OnePlus 5 bumpers are made out of RhinoShield's newest material!
We are excited to share that the OnePlus 5 bumper is our second product to be made out of a recently reformulated polymer blend. With this material, the CrashGuard will:
Protect your phone for longer. Wear and tear will be significantly reduced because of a general improvement in durability.
Be easier to install and remove. The new material stretches under continuous pressure and returns to its original position afterwards.
Be lighter and thinner. We can reduce thickness while maintaining our standard of protection.
Lastly, just in case you were wondering, our OnePlus 5 bumper is compatible with the official OnePlus screen protector.

this is my worry. The render show a one piece small volume rocker. Since I like the feature ''long press to skip track'', I doubt that case will give a easy touch feel.
I'll wait for the reviews.
For now, the cheap ebay bumper case with the acrylic clear back cover, is slim , nice and give a nice button feel.
Hi all! I'm pretty excited for this one, I had a CrashGuard on my Nexus 6P, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T and always really liked them. The buttons were really stiff though and they were hard to take off again, but I think they improved both with this one. Like you already mentioned, this one will be made of their new material, which will be easier to take off. Also: There's a photo showing that the buttons are not made like before, covering the the whole phone. (See photo in the middle) They have small cutouts, like the Spigen cases, which should make them really easy to press while maintaining the clicky feel. I just don't really know how to order this one, I'm in New Zealand right now with no permanent residence. No idea how long shipping takes or how much it really costs. They have a calculator on their website, but who knows how accurate this is...

I have pre-ordered the bumper. It will be shipped after the Labor Day, so this weekend I will be able to give you my review on the bumper. As a comparison I will use my current case - spigen armor.
