Boy, the DNA forums have been a ghost town these past few weeks.
I'm a long time flasher of several different ROMs (currently on Liquid), but I'm really getting the itch for 5.0. Are we waiting for the GP HTC One to get 5.0 (then port it to the DNA), waiting for ASOP (like CM) to finish their framework, or is the DNA "too old" and have the devs moved on to newer devices? I'm starting to consider a Nexus 6, but really the DNA is a fine piece of hardware and it's a shame to toss it.
Thanks for any thoughts

I managed to mess up bluetooth, so that's not currently working. But that's the main fail I've found so far. Test away. Let me know what doesn't work. At your own risk. I've been running it for a few days without any other hiccups.
EOS Droid DNA Lollipop ROM: http://daniel.johanssons.net/downloa...FICIAL-dlx.zip
And you'll need to flash this before rebooting: http://download.chainfire.eu/632/Sup...erSU-v2.30.zip
And you'll need some gapps: https://s.basketbuild.com/gapps
I flash all 3 at one time without any issues so far. But ROM+SuperSU is a must for now, or screen will lock up after a little bit. Tested flashing on both twrp 2.7+ and 2.8

AWESOME thanks a lot! Will reply to this thread after a few days with the results!
So I couldn't wait for Monday for the Lollipop goodness and flashed the other day. Was nervous with a weird error in CWM when flashing, but after 3-4 minutes it finished successfully with no intervention on my side. Bootup took a few minutes too (~5), for anyone who give this a try . Just hang out and let it do its thing.
The ROM runs great. I had some issues with Bluetooth (known issue though), but otherwise it's very stable. There's really no extra options in this build, and unfortunately that was a dealbreaker for me (my power button doesn't work, and I need "volume to unlock"). I wish I could have rode this bull longer.
Happy to know that support isn't completely dead yet! I'll be lurking some more for when more builds come! Thanks again to everyone.

The rom looks great, except when pinning an app, you get stuck, because long pressing the 'back' and 'overview' buttons doesn't unlock the device.
Is there a way to add more options for configuring the recent apps button?
In CM11, I configured recent apps to work as a menu button, and long press home to work as a recent apps switcher. Much more useful in my opinion.

Like I said in IRC: nice work Rev )
These vids are so handy to play on your screen while you update the TP, it gives you a good feeling like: ohhh right and ahhh how did I forget that cmd line etc
good backup, good initiative
I know several people have said the same thing about my videos. Sometimes, it's just nice to see someone else do it first, even though you are more than capable of figuring it out yourself.

Thanks for u'r Tut'z.... I started to check u'r YT channel daily for updates... Although I've already seen all your vidz a couple of times... IG v2.0 & CM9 will be playing and guiding me step by step when ever I decide to mod my TP... Maybe this weekend....
I do have a ? regarding Dual Boot and more specifically Triple boot... Which u seem to have been successful with... Your CM9 vid lists WebOS/ICS/CyanogenMod on MoBoot....

I am NOT tri-booting. The ICS that you saw was Evervolv and it was broken. I removed it right after making that video. I will NOT EVER be booting two different versions of Android on the same device.....EVER.
A grateful thank you.
Rev, I would like to thank you for your great tutorials. I watched your cm for dummies several times before I got the nerve up to possibly brick my new TP. Needless to say I didn't! I am running Xron 2.9.1 and plan to flash ICS once its a little more mature. I watched your video on flashing Xron and fixing the prop.build and both helped tremendously. So thank you.

I am awaiting your ICS vs. CM7 review, but since you made the X-Ron video you've seem to have gone to CM7... and now ICS (which that I do understand).
Was the xron before cm 3.5? Just curious, I had avoided the alpha till I found your You-Tube and phtt, so straight forward that I did it and no turning back, plus I now understand more of the root terminology. Dual boot's just a plus.
Soon Root my HTC Ineradicable S HBOOT 1.13.0000, now that I have the basic understanding.

I am working on the comparison video this weekend. I'm hoping to get something up tomorrow. There is just so many things to compare that I'm trying to make it worth watching. Check tomorrow evening for it.
Thanks Rev
Let me add my thanks for the great vids. WebOs was fun, but ICS is the tablet experience I was looking for when I bought the TP.
Just an FYI for those of you who, like me, hadn't installed CM7 in a while and got stuck on the command line screen with a device not found message and couldn't figure out what to do next.
Reboot your touchpad into WebOS. Select device info, reset options, then reset (or maybe it's reboot--can't remember). When the screen goes black, hold the volume up button and the device will reboot into a screen with the USB symbol. Now enter the command
novacom.exe boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller2
in the DOS window on your PC and you should be all set (assuming you have the necessary files in the appropriate directories as described by reverendkjr).
When I installed cm9 I felt that same feeling I had when first installing android. But this time having rev's video was a good feeling to be able to follow all the correct steps. Thanks rev

And thanks a bunch for this!
I did everything as per the instructions and it worked great.
However i left the device idling and it wouldn't wake up in the morning! I can however see the blinking light on the home button. Any advice?

BETA TESTER NEEDED:
I've released this ROM on the other 3 8960 devices already and now that cm10.2 has gone into nightlies here I thought I'd bring this ROM over. Here's a preview build for those that are interested. I do not have this device to test with, however I had great success on the ville and jewel (I have the Evita) and expect nothing less here. If the feedback here is positive I'll merge this into official nightlies with the other devices.
This is built using the CM device trees so all current device specific CM issues will be issues here as well. Screen flicker and sim card warnings are the major ones I see in mdmowers thread.
full_fireball-cfxe-OPENMASTER-20131019.112802.zip - 178.63 MB
GAPPS
UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.51.zip - 1.14 MB - needed for root, rom does not give root access by default so if you want rooot flash this as well
Check out codefirex.com for more info on the ROM and the team. Basically this is the closest thign to PURE AOSP you will find anywhere, highly optimized and built with a custom built GCC-4.8.2 toolchain.
This uses the 3.4 CM kernel tweaked for gcc-4.8 builds and as such follows all the same requirements as CM-10.2. NEWEST FIRMWARE/HBOOT are required. S-on still? You will need to fastboot flash the boot.IMG after flashing the ROM.
This will be updated more in a week or so when the official builds start up.
Thanks to the CM team for all their work on this family of devices, especially mdmower for his work on fireball for all of us to enjoy.
Most of you guys here on the Incredible 4G don't know me but I've been deving for Evita for a while now, since there was no support for this ROM on any of the other devices in the 8960 family I decided to branch out with this Rom and bring it to all of them.
***I DO NOT OWN A INCREDIBLE 4G AND THEREFORE CANNOT TEST THESE MYSELF. ***
DISCLAIMER: I will not be held responsible for any damages caused to your device by flashing this ROM. Your warranty is now void.
By proceeding you accept the risks involved with flashing ROMS. While I test everything on my own device, I cannot garauntee yours will not explode into kittens and rainbows.

KNOWN ISSUES:
ROOT ACCESS : On-going disscusion within the team but as of right now root is not available to userspace. Root currently works over adb only. Flash the superSU.zip and carry on if you need root access for apps like TiBu or root file explorers. Otherwise you really don't need it
BOOT ANIMATION : i'ts just full of struggle, it's an old animation made for smaller screens. It freezes and goes blank screen on first boot. Don't be alarmed, it'll be OK. New custom boot ani is being designed now by a fellow team member
BROWSER : Ocassional FC on embedded browser streaming video. You tube and links that open a video player are fine, just embedded video.
FIREBALL SPECIFIC ISSUES:
Somebody tell me something...I need a tester for this!!!
I expect the same CM issues :
Screen flicker ( if you get this flash something else asap)
Possible Data connectivity/sim card issues
ROM is still under construction so i'm sure more will surface but this should be more than ready to be a daily driver.

Can you give some more details about what's in this rom? I went to the website but couldn't see anything besides status updates. Is it a stripped down CM?
Sure thing, its basically straight AOSP compiled with a custom 4.8.2 toolchain (compiled w/ROM for each device) and all the linaro type build flags and -03 flags. Highly optimized, slim and efficient. You won't find a lot of the mods and features all the other ROMs out there have, just what Google gave us.
You may find that doesn't fit your style and if so cool, its not for everybody. What I'm really interested in is hardware testing since I do not own this device(I have the one xl).
Is camera/WiFi/data/calls working... That kind of thing. I know this device is having some issues that the other 3 HTC 8960 devices are not on cm10.2.

Okay.. gave it a try. The rom itself seems to run really snappy and quick. My 4G took a bit to connect and never turned blue but I did have internet. Camera and all seemed to work fine. After trying a few things I realized I never installed gapps so I rebooted back to recovery and flashed them. That was as far as I got. The phone went into boot loops. Pulled the battery and wiped it clean, tried to restore my cm10.2 backup and it locked up upon rebooting itself. Pulled the battery again and attempted to get to recovery which took 3 tries. Wiped the phone again and restored one more time and cm10.2 seems to be working fine now.
Maybe it didn't take cause I flashed gapps afterwards.. I dunno. I'll try to flash both rom and gapps together when I get another chance.

Finally got somebody! Yay! Thanks for trying...to be honest this build is almost a month old now and quite a bit of the data issues I think have been resolved since then.
I can't speak to your boot looping deal, that is defiantly strange behavior. It should not matter when or if you flash gapps. At this point I'm happy to known it boots. Ive held off doing anything with this one as I haven't had anybody to test. I've got a few other things going but I'll get a more current build up in a few days.

Flashed the latest release and here's what I've got so far. The first boot took some time, as expected, and when it was done my phone was roaming so I couldn't log in. I remembered this problem with previous versions of cm so I just rebooted. 2nd boot went much quicker and my phone was now on lte. I checked all the settings for radio and the network, system and CDMA were all correct.
Upon trying to reconfigure the hardware keys it seems that they were set up for a different phone. There was home, menu and search keys listed but not back, home and recents buttons like we have. The camera and video seem to work as well as any normal cm version would. I couldn't find the swipe function for the keyboard if there is one.
The 4gLTE, WiFi and GPS all seem to work fine. I had no trouble locking into satellites or routers. Text messaging works fine also but I didn't have a chance to test calling yet. I'm working right now. I decided to install all my apps and play for awhile until TiBu told me there's no root and that's when I realized there no Superuser installed. Other than that the ROM works smooth and fast. I'll be back if I find anything else.
Su zip in op will fix root. Long argument among the team but for now this is how it is.
Keep forgetting to fix the overlay for that hw key. "Menu key " is our "app switch key". I had to hack it to get the buttons I wanted before we added hw key remapping and forgot to remove the hack.
Thanks again for testing it out.

The zip you provided worked great. Restored all my apps no problem. Came across a bug though. Tried to play Apollo but got no sound. The app seemed to be working fine, just no sound. So I tried Pandora and the sound came on but for only one song then went out again. I was using my headphones. I've used BT for calls and that works fine but I haven't tried streaming audio to my car yet to see if that works.

Been running this for a couple of days now and it seems to work very well. The only requests that I could think of would be swipe for the keyboard and the option to have the volume keys control fast forward/rewind for the music player but other than that this rom seems pretty solid right now. Great work guys and thanks again!
I'll be heading to France in a couple of days and plan on buying a Sim card when I get there for the local network so I'll let you know how it works when I get back.

I'm hoping someone else has already solved this issue, but I seem to be running into serious problems with AOSP CM ROMs with regards to the power button. Recently I actually bricked my original EVO 4G LTE and got a "new" one via the insurance replacement program with Sprint. I immediately obtained rooted, installed recovery, and obtained S-off. I then proceeded to install CM10.2 (deck's build) and am actually still running 9/20 version of this ROM.
My problem with the power-button is that it sometimes does not respond to a press where it may not wake the screen or sleep the screen. Sometimes it takes 2, 3 or more presses to get it to respond. Additionally, sometimes after the screen sleeps it will immediately wake again. It's as if the button is not properly de-bounced. My first thought was that the power-button was physically broken.
So as an experiment I rolled back to previous versions of CM10.1 and got the same results, even after clean flashes. Then I tried rolling back the stock ROM which came with the phone, from a nandroid backup. Shockingly, no power button issues at all. So with a sense based ROM, it seems to work perfectly, but a AOSP based ROM (specifically, CM10.x) I see the issues.
Could this be a kernel issue? Anyone else seen or resolved this issue already?
Thanks. Sincerely,
Frustrated.
Yeah I have that sometimes too although occasionally it won't even wake up and will have shut off by itself

I updated the latest TP firmware from Captain Throwback, on a whim. While it doesn't seem to have fixed the issue, it seems much improved. The jury is still out - and it's only been an hour or so since I installed, so this is hardly enough data to say definitively. But promising.

So your power button was bad with the stock ROM too? That's a bummer. At least mine seems to work OK with the stock ROM. Maybe I should try some modified stock ROMs to see if there is a difference there.
You're not alone. My brother and I both have EVO's and we're both experiencing this issue. It's annoying as hell having to press the power button multiple times to wake the device. Didn't start having this issue until the end of the CM.1 cycle. I also went back to Sense and found no problems. It only appears to occur on non sense ROMs. Does anyone have any insight to this or possibly a fix?
It's a kernel issue. That problem did not pop up until the 3.4 kernels started coming out.

Well that's great news (sort-of) and means that some day someone could potentially resolve this in the kernel. Maybe we need to X-Post with the CM10.2 development forum, unless they are already aware and are working on this.

I'm hoping someone else has already solved this issue, but I seem to be running into serious problems with AOSP CM ROMs with regards to the power button.
Could this be a kernel issue? Anyone else seen or resolved this issue already?

There were certain nightly/kernel mixes with the 10.2 and Haunted kernel that seemed to clear it up for me.
I can't for the life of me remember which combination. Sorry.
One thing that alleviated that for me a bit was enabling "Volume Buttons Wake Up Handset" or whatever it was.

Cool, I think I may try the Haunted Kernel. Nandroiding first of course. I will report back later.
Yeah try a new kernel and use kernel tuner and turn on the Swype to wake option it is pretty cool..

Haunted Kernel 31 + Unofficial CM10.2 9/20 Build (Deck) appears to still have issues. Although it seems a bit better than before. As to whether this introduces new issues, I'm not sure yet.
The work on the kernel is ongoing. Trust me, it's way better than it was before.

Yup, expected to have a few hiccups using bleeding edge ROMs & kernels. Glad to hear that these types of things are being addressed. The Haunted kernel definitely makes things much, much better. It's definitely daily driver quality now.
As a side note, I've also noted that the WiFi seems to work better with the Haunted kernel as well. Not sure if that's related, but where I used to have difficulty staying connect to WiFi at home and at work, it now seems rock solid. Still a bit too early to be definitive, but so far so good.

Haunted Kernel is still behind some, last I checked. So while you may have some benefits, you will lose/miss some fixes/optimizations. But to each his own.

Good to know. I will keep flashing and keep trying the new builds as they become available. For now, this seems to be a good combo for me. The current Haunted governor actually kinda seems to be draining the battery fast so I may tweak that. Anyway, thanks for all the responses here, this has really enlightened me on this issue.

This rom does have random reboots when opening games, like Clash of Clans (works like 20% of the time)
I was wondering if there was a fix.
Thanks in advance

yes am using the stock kernel, didnt mess with anything at all
Good to know. I haven't experienced any of the random reboots yet, but I am not a heavy-user beyond a few utility apps, text, email, and calling.
I do know that there seem to be a considerable number of apps that work fine on 4.4 that exhibit undesirable behavior on 5.0. It isn't obvious whether the issues are app compatibility, or that our device tree isn't yet up to par, or that android 5 isn't yet up to par (or even all of the above).

My phone burns and reboot when I try to open some apps.
I need some help for this, I'm using OmniRom 5.0.2 lollipop unofficial and when I use the music player of the rom, my phone gets so hot and battery drains to fast, also reboot when try to use other apps from the play store like, youtube, etc... everything else works fine. I want to know if you are going to fix the other bugs like the outgoing calls, etc..??
BTW, thank you so much for your effort on this rom, i really like OmniRom and I hope you can make it better and keep GS2 alive
I have found that there are specific apps that cause the device to immediately reboot. I believe this to be mainly a result of the current memory issues regarding this device and Lollipop.
I haven't experienced any heating issues beyond the initial firmware settling (scanning the device) .
I hope to be able to find a solution to all bugs, but I cannot promise that it will happen.

Just seeing this, sorry. I'll pull it now, this call bug log?
Edit: I see that it is, hard to scan it well on my phone, I'll look once I'm at my computer. I updated audio stuff before my last build but no luck. I think using a prebuilt hwcomposer from kk would solve many many issues with video etc. That's what we did for n2 and we don't have official cm12 either. I need to pull a kk zip to get the hwcomposer and see how that works. Also I may need to build an i777 almost stock kernel with my n2 source because only my kernel on n2 will allow working everything hardware. My i777 kernel is based on cm but my n2 is Samsung kernel source 3.0.31 that has been routinely merged with aosp. Quick glance looks like audio isn't routing properly but I could be wrong. It's such a strange bug since it works just fine after flipping on and off. Again sorry for the delay, I seriously only get about 15% of the notifications I should
Yeah, this is the call log, and without something flagrantly crashing (and leaving a better calling card) I have nothing specific to look into.
No worries about the notification, I've been working on slim with warrior1208. ... Although until slim is back online, that project is almost stalled.
We'll have a proper daily driver if we can get this. I can't help but wonder if some of the "under the hood fixes" of 5.1 may help. Prolly just wishful thinking.

Right now I currently despise 5.1 LOL. Not that it's bad but I have to start over if I want it. Hey, I remember you cooking your mobo awhile back, used to do it all the time but can't remember. What temperature and for how long did you do it? I wanna give it a go on MTT jtagged Xbox. It finally fried so figure might as well give it a shot, heat gun isn't working and my reball machine crapped out least year so I sold it to someone willing to fix it at the time

385 for ten minutes brought me success. For two different devices.
I noticed that 5.1 seemed to temporarily push asimovi's progress backward a bit, which is a part of why I haven't published a 5.1 Omni. I lost internal storage again, and haven't found the culprit. I keep forgetting to look into system_vold.
5.0 should have been a test release.
BIG UPDATE, POSSIBLE FINAL BUILD!!!
Code:
I shouldn't have to say it, but when you hit/swipe the install button,
everythings on you. This was made for a J727perx/POPLTESPR, using a boost
mobile phone for testing. If your phone isn't from the suppliers listed in this
post, or you're not using something labeled perx, or are unfamiliar with the
term popltespr, don't try to use it. I won't be crying for anyone. That said, this
should be about as stable a ROM as you get when dealing with ROMs.
The new
J727PVPU3ARC2_MULTI_CERT_LIBERATE_X7s
New Video demonstration below
I wasn't able to make the YouTube link embed, but I hid the video like a good dude.
The video is of the actual zip that I uploaded for the download, you will start with a blue/purpleish light theme, changeable/disable in the theme center. No need to worry, but I always keep an backup of my EFS on the card, just in case.
Zero bloat, fully intact/tweaked system, with no knox.
If you discover some earth shattering problem, let me know, if not, I don't have anymore plans on taking this further. I'm flashing my personal build as of this post, if you want anything faster...I don't even know where to point you. With the right launcher(see my video of my personal build), and system setup, its scary fast.
Enjoy

Multi_Cert
This ROM should be ready for multiple service providers. It covers Sprint, Boost Mobil, and Virgin Mobil customers, and has built in boot animations for all 3 stock to prove it, along with vendor options. This is what I made the original ROMs with, ARA1 and ARC2. Until I recently reset my PC, and got a bunk Boost AP. All should be as good as everything was in the past builds, before the .3/.4 gen.
Hope you guys enjoy.
Love and Peace, and all that junk.
If you want to make use of my project, then read my sig, I got you covered.
Just downloaded ty bro. I'll let you know how it works out. Heading home now.
Nice, hope you enjoy, I'm posting one more, and have a 4 that goes further that I could send you. All features are working, service should be stable down to the 4th build...eh, I'll post them both.

We have a gathering of our phones most active members here, lol. Glad you liked it, I was super proud of how these came out.
Updates in the OP. Not that it's that far away from this post.
Man it's phenominal. Flashed this morning, and it's kicking ass and taking names. I can really tell a difference on internet too. Thanks man.
Pc isn't picking up my phone with usb. Do you know what would be the cause? I know adb tether wasn't working already but I need to connect my phone so I can transfer music, pictures ect. I don't have micro/sd slot in pc or I'd just do that.
Also Xposed says it's incompatible and won't let me install. Says it's not compatible with processor ect. This one isn't a deal breaker, just wondering if something might be corrupt on my end somehow..
Turn off USB debugging when you want to use the usb with another device, should link instantly when you turn it off, and break when on. Not that it should, but does lol. I'm going to try something differen't with the xposed, if I make it work, I'll do my planned update with it fixed.
Was going to post an update with my android boot animation, and game over shutdown....could mix a few others, but didn't know if you guys were interested.
Peter had xposed working on our old firmware, so I had it working of course. On the new frimware, for whatever reason, it really hates anything starting with the letter X, I've been on this all day. My solution would be to completely pull xposed, keep the build quality/speed up, and offer custom qmp boot images out of the box. Let me know what you think, or, if you nail xposed, let know about that. I currently have the Android ULHD boot animation, swirling dots into flashing android, and pacman gameover shutdown on mine. I have a bit of a collection I could share, or you can find them on the forms I'm sure, but most don't flash right. Mine work lol. Let me know what you would like.
Probably have to pull xposed from the project, but I can at least add some flare to the roms. I was adding boot animations, and a built in EQ presets built for small speakers. Currently in testing.
Bootanimations are always nice

I could preinstall them, or I might be able to provide animations, and shutdown as seperate flashables, and let you guys do your own? I've been preping all of them for a go, just want to take a look at what I have. I don't have them in zips yet, but I don't thing it'll be too hard. So far I have Android_L_UHD(A/S), Amiga (A/S), Badman (S), PacMan game over(S), NexusBeam(A/S), Matrix(A/S), SamDisco(A), and a few others. There's a post on the forms with them, but they don't work on our phone in there current format.
I might find some videos, or make a little montage, or just get zips together.
In the meantime, I need to update 2.2, at the very least, and my op.
Looks like someone made a video on the thread, and also has the link there. If you flash them, it only affects the shundown, if anything.
UPDATE
Despite my best efforts, xposed did not work out. I pulled it, added more speed(everywhere), and a musicplayer/system FX EQ that work together, but don't like the phone speaker. It's a combination chosen after much testing, and with a decent pair of headphones, makes a very noticeable difference from preset, to bass, reverb, and virtualization. Like most additions, totally free, no adds, and worth adding.
2.2 is the only update, the rest will happen over the next few days, and all will be getting custom boot animations, along with the other mentioned changes.

all download links down for full updating. I'll post when they're back. if it's not a link for X#.3, it wont work. really good stuff coming.
All ROMs have new working boot/shutdown animations, new speed tweaks for almost everything, tested music player/system EQ(not working with system speaker, great with headphones), and, of course thank you peter couniaz for informing me of the importance of the installer, and linking it.
2.3 is up, the rest are syncing, and will be up in the morning, when I get up again.
All ROMs updated to the latest versions. Idon't believe I have anything more for quality or speed, everything is close to perfect while keeping the ROM technically stock. Lineage is still faster, but not by much, for our phone at least, and this looks so much better. Anyway, everyone enjoy the updated ROM, let me know what you think, and if you find any problems.

Finally a dev who knows his works?good work bruh...will try it today
I flashed the X2.3 rom. Nice work, but there are a couple problems. The first thing I noticed was that the Xposed framework was installed during rom installation. The app is removed, but the framework is still installed. The next problem that I ran into was that a secured lockscreen takes a really long time to unlock (approximately 10 seconds).

I'm uploading 2.3 with the proper installer, I don't know how 2.3 was the only one to not get it. All others are fine, probably because 2.3 was the first updated. I'm working on figuring out the lock screen issue. I've checked so much that I'm running out of ideas. I'll update the download in the op with the new link once it's synced. Which will be like 10 minutes lol. Sorry about the lock screen, it permeates through to my final build it seems.
