https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001616612 this is the bootloader file . if you upgraded to g900tuvucnk2 by using mobile odin pro and want to upgrade the bootloader as well than flash this file in pc odin under bootloader. this is because mobile odin pro will not flash bootloaders.

theoretically you can downgrade the bootloader as well as the firmware to ne6 but I have not tried it on nk2 . my guess is that it shouldnt be a problem . why would you need to downgrade?if it is to root there are two tutorials on how to upgrade to nk2 without tripping knox and being rooted. mine is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...t-firmware-t2908019/post56072043#post56072043 and another one by galaxyuser88 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s5/general/how-to-root-s5-firmware-knox-0x0-t2909352 they are different procedures but both work. the second one does not use mobile odin pro and involves flashing an older kernel , rooting and then flashing new kernel. but this is only if you have the new firmware installed from pc odin and are not rooted. I hope that makes sense

No it is not, and your friend is wrong. You can update to JellyBean any time you want, and YOU CHOOSE if you want to keep your phone rooted or not.
If you root, you can update to jellyBean using MobileOdin (available in the PlayStore), and choose to keep root or not.
You can also update using the PC version of Odin3, but that way it will NOT keep root.
So, sumarize, you can do anything want, rooted or not, upgraded or not!!!
Only problem is that OTA update may well fail on a rooted phone .

Why wait on OTA if you can do it using MobileOdin (to retain root) or Odin3 ?
I never had an OTA upgrade and yet I had all upgrades before everyone else.
Besides, you wrote "may", which is the proper word: when rooting and upgrading are done correctly, your binary counter is ZERO and the ROM is marked as official, so any OTA would work if I had patience to wait.
Yep, you can't update via Kies. But Kies sucks anyway so Odin is your no.1 choice
Hello I just wanted everyone to know that I found a root program for our SM-G900T on Android 4.4.2 it says its for Verizon Wireless version but I have been using this for a few months now without any problems. The program is called Towelroot and can be found at https://towelroot.com/

I am sure you are right as my friend who is on the Verizon Wireless, and he updated his phone and he lost his root, I will upload a screen shot of my version.
but if you really want to root without tripping knox you can downgrade your firmware to any rom prior to the June update then root with towel root and now you can upgrade with mobile odin to any later roms while keeping root during the mobile odin flash.
however you can't have any custom recovery without tripping knox.

^^ What he said.
The bootloader is not locked. You can downgrade to any stock firmware and flash whatever stock firmware you want. Anything that NOT stock will trip your knox counter warranty status.
I rooted and flat-out deleted all knox apps in the system folder. I have no idea if that tripped my knox counter, I am figuring my knox counter was tripped because I went ahead and flashed TWRP recovery. Removing the Knox apps in /system/app and /system/priv-app are no big deal.

so flash a firmware <june 2014 with odin, root with towel root, then flash newest with odin?
which firmwares are <june 2014?
When you start the mobile odin it specifically says using mobile odin on this divice will trip the knox counter there is no recovery from this. lol so downloaded the ne6 rom flashed with odin and root with towel root. all good now

Hey guys im back after smashing my beloved xperia z (which i had mastered the ins and outs of) and reluctantly replacing it with a HTC ONE m7 which was the most terrible phone i have ever used in my life.... i have plonked a good bit of cash on a z2 and I AM LOVING IT
I had updated to the latest version of KK but i am hearing mixed reports that a root is not available for this version.
If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be fabulous.
Thank you in advance

Hello
I see you are totally green on this.
Well, im kinda green too, but I have had a lot of help from @xda and now I can manage to do some stuff with my telephone.
The first thing you have to do is BACKUP!!! This is always important.
Well, then lets get to it.
The XPERIA Z2 has a locked bootloader. This means that it cannot flash any roms, custom or other without being unlocked. When you unlock the bootloader, you delete all files on the phone, (don’t ask me how, it just does) and also deletes a partition called TA. The TA-partition contains DRM-keys, to explain that, @Envious_Data might help.
Anyway, when you have root, you can backup the TA, BEFORE you flash any custom ROM, or the ROM with ROOT. That way you will always be able to go back to scratch. Without ROOT on 4.4.4 you need to downgrade to 4.4.3, ROOT and backup the TA-partition before you even start thinking about unlocking bootloader.
(search the XDA, Google (use XDA in the end for XDA results) XDA-TV and you will find tons and tons of stuff. Once you understand some, it will come fast to you.)
I have gathered some threads here for you to read, and I hope this will work for you too.

When done, notify me.

To root the Z2 and get dual recovery on 4.4.2 follow these steps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/help/how-to-root-firmware-314-t2821619
Then you need to follow the instructions in this thread, it's much easier than what it seems
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/4-4-4-creating-rooted-update-package-t2933155
Also, no need to backup TA unless you wanna unlock your bootloader

*Sigh*

Depends, if you odin'd the I545VRUGOC1_Neutered_Full_Odin then yes you can go back to kitkat. If you're baseband is OC1 then you're out of luck.
I've tried Kingroot app and desktop versions with no success. I'm on stock OC1 after attempting to go from @muniz_ri's rooted OC1 to rooted OF1 (didn't work) and then using his OC1 downgrade .tar.
Are there any other options for rooting 5.0.1 OC1 at this point? Thanks
same. I'm waiting for any other option for rooting 5.0.1 OC1 (kingroot didn't work both desktop n device version)

Would you mind giving it another try? A few hours ago, someone on my YouTube channel was able to root using kingroot. I'm curious to know if its working again. Just remember, you need internet access.
a week ago I tried to root my S4 Verizon SCH I545 both PC and Devices method.
my PC/notebook and my S4 conected to internet but kingroot did'nt work.
btw, thanks for your attention.
I will try again next time
Not sure but if you have been on oc1 for awhile and have received security update policies that may be blocking it. A clean Odin back to stock oc1 may help.
