Hi
I bought samsung s3 in previous 6 months ago, after 3 months I got frustrated problems that cause my phone low signal even no signal, frequently s voice is talking itself and the screen is on, the screen is on even I press power button. And I google, I found that many forum but I can't find any solution, and I decide to upgrade firmware 4.1 to 4.2 I was hoping that can solve my problems, upgrade firmware can only solve screen on and s voice, still no signal and week signal. And I upgrade it to 4.2 to 4.3, it worse than 4.2, now s voice is talking itself, no signal when enter house, in living room. Sometime the screen is on, I can close the screen. I assume that this is firmware mismatch problem, but I am not sure. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Purchased an S3 (i9300) in October - 4.0.4 ICS
Rooted
Flashed CWM Touch 6.1.2
Updated ROM to stock UK ROM - JB 4.1.1
On both the ICS ROM and the JB ROM I had a problem with call volume fading during calls.
I can hear the other end perfectly on both speakerphone and normal, but........
about once every 6 minutes for 10 seconds the call recipient says my voice becomes indistinct to the point of not hearing me. Bluetooth headset doesn't help.
It doesn't matter whether I call them or they call me.
I have 5 bars of signal on my phone and it happens when I'm calling a fixed line phone or a mobile.
I'm with Telstra Australia and have had them run tests which reveal nothing..
Samsung haven't heard of the problem.
Has anyone come across this problem?
Suggested Fix??
it's the modem I think I'm in Sydney and I had too try a few different ones till I found XXDID works good on Telstra

All those issues are modem/baseband related. Find the modem that suits with your provider, there is a thread dedicated to modems.
Hi
My Galaxy pocket is loosing it's data connection and only reboot is helping although the dual arrow marks with H exsist on screen
the rom is original without any changes
is it knwon problem or should I ask to replace my phone (it is one week old and the problem is since day 1)?
Dude its common with everybody but it happens if u use H sparsely but wen u use consistently it will be history. No fear atall

Had severe problems with drops of network connectivity, the phone even going to "No network" at times or the data arrows would freeze until reboot. It was especially severe in 3G network mode.
Latest firmware available by just doing an over the air software update of the phone has a new baseband software (XXLJ4), which indeed seems to have solved this annoying problem. The update information said something like "increased phone stability" - sounds about right if they bugfixed the radio firmware..

Settings -> About Phone -> Software Update -> Update
and then choose to check for updates, and let the phone do its work.
That should do the trick unless your phone is already on XXLJ4 or is specifically/regionally branded or something.
You can see the version code directly under About phone, Baseband version. My phone read XXLF5 there before it was updated.
The latest baseband for this one, S5300XXME1, available since a month in the updates, makes it even better.
For me it got rid of a frequent WiFi problem and 3G disconnects which could happen when not stationary.
Also it seems to keep a 3G connection much more persistently before switching over to 2G/EDGE, the 3G signal now really needs to be terrible for it to do that.
My girlfriend has had a Samsung S3 (I9300) for a couple of months and has had no issues with it however she dropped it and broke the LCD . I ordered a replacement screen (Front glass, LCD, and digitizer) from eBay and fitted this without any problems. I tested all functions on the phone and it seemed to be working okay. The same evening my girlfriend went and run the update and went from 4.0.4 (I think) to 4.1.2 since then she has complained about signal issues which I have now witnessed myself. I wished she had waited a bit longer to make sure the phone was working fine before doing any updates as now I am not sure if this is a software related problem or hardware. There is no way to revert back to the older version to confirm software. I know one option on the software side would be to root it and install a customer rom but I have never done this before and even though reading through the forums the process seems to be easy I am a bit reluctant to do this just now.
The signal indicator sometimes shows a circle with a line through it, sometimes it shows a grey triangle with no bars in it and other times it will show a bar or two and even a full signal. I have noticed even without a sim in it that it can show a couple of bars of signal. I have not got this confused with the Wi-Fi signal. When trying to send text messages or make a phone call the following errors come up “Not registered on network” and “No signal found for mobile network”
Below is what I have done/checked so far
I have restored the phone to factory settings but as explained before this will only restore to 4.1.2. This time the only apps on the phone are stock apps, no additional apps have been installed just encase a third party software may have caused issues.
Her sim will work in any other phone. I have an S2 and have ported my number over from a normal sim to a brand new micro sim to try in her phone. Both of these phones are on O2.
I have made sure the IMEI number is correct and matches what the phone came shipped with.
I have double checked the APN details and these match what my S2 has. Although I am pretty sure this is only for internet and MMS and would not affect SMS and phone calls.
After check over the settings and restoring to factory settings I have fitted a replacement antenna which I also got from eBay. I doubt I have damaged the mainboard as all other functions on the phone work fine. (Touchscreen, Cameras, Sound, Wi-Fi)
For some reason I can get the phone to work at my house on both GSM (2G) and WXCDA (3G) although it seems to be more stable when it is on GSM. As soon as I leave my house and go into town (approx. 2 mile away) or over to my girlfriends (approx. 20 miles away) it will stop working. I have gone onto the O2 website and entered both of our post codes on the O2 network coverage checker and this reports that there are no services down in our area and that we should have a good signal.
I have come on this forum for some advice and hopefully someone can recommend what I could do next. I have had a little browse on the forum already but is there something I have missed? Should I root the phone and install a customer rom? If it was caused by the official update is there an a hotfix of some sort coming soon? Or is this a genuine fault with the phone? If it is a fault with the phone and it has not be caused by me I could try sending it back to O2 (where the phone was purchased from) or Samsung seeing as I can’t see any warranty seals so think I would get away with this.
Thanks in advance for any responses I get to this and I am sorry if I have rambled on and provided info that is not essential.
Flash O2 stock rom via Odin .
If that does not fix it its a hardware repair job and you will be refused warranty as you have self repaired .

Picked up a second hand X1 and trying to work out which model it is. Having a few issues with 3g-2g switching and signal strength and want to make sure I have the best ROM installed.
Attached is the one it came with, everything is fine except the signal sometimes drops out all together even though my Samsung Mega 6.3 has 3 bars of 3G and 4 of 2G in the same location.
Bluetooth also seems to be a bit flakey with my LG Google watch sometimes disconnecting.
Turning Bluetooth on and off fixes it but its not a real solution as I need it for notifications. I also need to stick with 4.4.2 for my Google watch to work.
Any suggestions? Is this a stock rom?
the rom installed on your device is the latest for the 7D-503L ( Huawei Honor X1). wich means it's supposed to be the more advanced ROM for this specific one.
To check if your device is also a 7D-503L, look at the back of it, the model number is printed at the bottom, even if it'sprinted in chinese.
No model number printed anywhere, guessing its the Chinese version. Bad 2G/3G reception is driving me crazy on this thing, not much use as a phone if I can't get receptions.
Callers sometimes have to wait a couple of seconds before they can hear my voice too which is really embarrassing. I might try an earlier rom, looks like I am on some beta version.

Try to install the last international ROM (B102 for 7D-501L, will go to b103 by OTA after install) adpated to the 7D-503L:
http://pan.baidu.com/s/1jGrBBOq
your you can try the 7D-503L B009 ROM, which is supposed to be the more signal-stable:
http://www.emui.com/nsp/geturl.php?path=7D-503L_EMUI3.0_Android4.4_V100R002C208B009.zip&rid=963
If the install fail for this last rom, it means that your model is not a 7D-503L

B009 sounds like its the best rom for this phone but its only 4.2 and I need 4.4 for my LG Android watch to work. There is a B010 out so I will try than next but I am not hopeful.
Pretty sure the problem is with the switching between towers on low signal. I can go from 4 bars to no signal in an instant in the same location at home. I tried a different networks SIM card and still no good at home. The same SIM card in a cheap 2G phone and I get 3 bar and no drop outs.
How Huawei can get is so wrong is beyond me.
In the CBD today where there is good coverage I had no problem at all with calls or signal but on the train home it was useless.
The same trip with my Galaxy Mega 6.3 gives me pretty good connection and data all the way home. I love this phone but I will have to go back to my Galaxy Mega if I can't resolve this signal issue.
B009 is KitKat 4.4.2, 400 DPI, EMUI 3.0 .
Install this ROM. (and then check if your device is a 503L, revealed by achieving the installation)
If still signal issues, try the 501L B102 adapted to 503L.
Hey guys,
I'm from India and I bought the I9300 International version, although the Download mode shows SGH-I747 and unlocked I think. The build number on the device is JSS15J.I9300ZSENA1. It runs on Android 4.3 Jellybean and is the Pebble Blue version.
I'm using Reliance carrier on it and having frequent call drops, connectivity issues and texting problems as well. Then I get this security notice which asks me to boot the device repeatedly and I don't have any clue why that happens.
Now, my main problem is that I can't use the device for calling purposes as well texting.
So, how can I fix this? When I tried to update the firmware, I found the At&t text on it. That made me think that this might be the right place to post. Anyway, will changing the ROM to a Custom one like Cyanogen help to fix this issue? I need some help with this as I spent some decent bucks on it.
Some screenshots that might help.

Disable svoice. Its rubbish anyway.
The call drops could be network signal swapping bands or an issue with the carrier.
If you are sure it's the phone acting up the only real fix is to reflash the stock rom.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.
The strange thing is, I9300 is a AT&T version. i always thought I747 was the AT&T version. But anyway, will reflashing the stock ROM work somewhat with call issues?
And thanks for the SVoice advice.
