Hello, seems my proximity sensor is not working, actually it's been like this for a while, but i think it's time to fix it... if I may
When I make calls screen goes black. I tried *#0*# but doesn't bring up anything , only "Connection problem or invalid MMI code". I had to enable to end calls with power button
I installed Proximity Sensor Finder it shows "proximity sensor available" but always at 3.0 cm and sensor last covered for 0ms
any suggestions?
I just now remembered it occurred after a display changing service
I hope it is a matter of calibration
are there any commands working with 4.4.4 stock for that?
Did you manage to calibrate and make it work? I have the same problem, but I've not changed display.

For some reason recently after installing the fix that keeps the wifi always on my proximity sensor stopped working properly. Now when on a call my screen dims instead of turning off so I end up either opening a ton of programs or hanging up on the person. I was wondering if anyone knows how to correct this as uninstalling the 'fix' has failed to.

I'm having a problem with the proximity sensor on my z2. Every time I make a call, the screen is off, but it can't be turned back on until the call ends.
I tried to flash rom 4.4.4 (.575), on items proximity sensor calibration, but failed (error code -98). I really love my phone, and want to find some way to fix it.
Please help me if you know something. . Thanks

my LG G5 shows a black screen while dialing a phone number. I read about this issue on the internet an found out that the proximity sensor could be the culprit, so I installed a sensor test app and the result was that the proximity sensor didn't work. Could this be a software problem or does the sensor have a physical defect? If so, could it be easily replaced? Thanks for any help.
Hi, my mother has the Nokia 7.2 phone and few days ago it began to go to black screen when on a call. It on all the time, and you can't start the screen unless when the call is ended. I see that many has this error, but I couldn't fix the error permanently with any of there advise.
The only thing that seems to work, is going into developer mode, enable "USB-debugging" and "turn sensors off". Then from the top drawer I can turn off sensors. Now the phone doesn't go into black screen when on a call.
But the problem it, that it shouldn't be necessary to do this step, and it will turn off all other sensors also.
My plan is to take it to a service center as it many still be under warranty, but I don't want them to just say "Not hardware failure, wait for an software update" and then I have to pay for basically nothing.
So my question is, can I somehow test the proximity sensor and perhaps others, so I can be sure that it's a hardware or software error?

When i put the phone on my ear, the screen goes off as expected but after a while it opens again and my face touches the screen. mostly closing my microphone, and doing other stuff as my face keep touching the unlocked screen. i tried locking my screen before a phone call and tried proximity sensor reset APK. none of them worked. i really like the specs but this problem annoys me. is there any solution?

If it's not hardware problem
You can try calibration/re calibration
Goto my device>all specs>click on kernel version multiple times, it will open CIT menu
And find your desired option.
Just install "Call Proximity Sensor Fix" from playstore.
none of the recommendations worked. only proximity sensor fix app's proximity overrider works but it creates a constant notification. i use blockada for adblocking, it also has a constant notification. they keep changing places, it is annoying
edit: ok, i just unclicked show notifications for both app's, locked them on running applications, remove all restrictions: they are both working now without any notification. call proximity sensor fix it's overrider works dine, thanks all
