Hi,
Recently I did a factory reset of my Verizon Galaxy S4 (SCH-1545), proceeded to root with towelroot, install safestrap and add some file managers, Titanium Backup and so on. The problem is that since doing this, the phone no longer remembers wifi passwords or saved networks at all. Wifi works fine up until I turn it off or I get out of range of an access point, then it forgets the existence of the network and I have to connect and add the password again.
I checked wpa_supplicant.conf and it appears to save the info for a single network at a time. When wifi is lost or turned off, the file is cleared out, so it forgets the network.
Can you guys help? Thanks!

It was fine until last night...
I woke up this morning to find that my atrix had lost connection with home wifi, provided by ATT.
I tried to go back on, but it failed, as if I had got the password wrong (phone says its gaining IP address, turns wifi on and off, does the same thing again)
I tried rebooting the phone, retyping the password, which were an useless attempt.
Wifi itself seems like its, fine, since my mother's phone(Captivate) is going fine with it.
I can also connect to other wifi networks,
so I cant exactly see where the problem is.
My atrix is running on ATT, 4.5.91, rooted.
Thanks for your help beforehand!

Did you try telling it to forget the connection, then set it up again?
Have you tried rebooting your modem and router?
Many connection issues are solved by a simple reboot of all hardware involved.
I've tried searching and haven't found anyone with the same issue as I.
Jellybean broke my wifi, I had no connection issues before whatsoever.
Now, it still shows it's connected to the network with full strength but when I go to use the internet or any apps, it says there is no network connection, webpage unavailable, no autosync, etc. Things are fine when I go back to 3G and nothing has changed on my phone but the JB update. I've turned Sprint Optimizer off and on, deleted and manually readded all the wifi networks, and am not sure what else to do besides hard reset. Any ideas? Also, I am not rooted.

have you done a complete network reboot (cable modem and wifi router) when having the crappy sprint connection optimizer off?
if this helps you feel free to hit the thanks button
Thanks for the help! I found the answer in another thread... Seems JB automatically turns on "DLNA auto-ip" for some people. The fix that worked for me was Settings>Wifi>Menu>Advanced and uncheck "DLNA auto-ip" at the bottom.
Hi all,
I've been using my Samsung Galaxy W for quite a while now, but have only recently given any serious attempt at setting up the phone's 3G connection. I have entered the correct APN data for my provider - using Telstra after unlock - and all settings are correct, as I was initially successful in getting a data connection. However, I ran into an issue when I shut down my phone. Whenever I start the phone back up, I get a glimpse of the 3G icon in the message tray, but after Media scanner has done its thing, that 3G icon then disappears. Initially I could no longer connect via 3G, no matter what settings I fiddled with.
Eventually, I found that the only way to fix the error was to dial *#*#4636#*#*, access the phone info menu, and then to manually enable the data connection. Even more confusing is that when I hold down the power button, my phone states that the data connection is already, and always was, enabled. My packet data is also on... and the phone has not put itself in flight mode. Also, as I said, the APN settings are definitely correct.
Does anyone know why I must manually enable the data connection whenever I restart my phone?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Paul
Phone is rooted and running gingerbread 3.3.6
Hello
I'm having trouble connecting to a lot of Wifi networks that most other people with Android and Apple phones have no problems with, including my home network.
Here's what happens:
Turn on WIfi, select SSID, type in the correct password. It connects for about a second (I know because snapchats etc, pop-up), then disconnects and changes to "Saved".
Then the SSID disappears from the list of available networks, and exists only in the Saved Networks section. If tap it I get only "Forget" & "Cancel".
To try to work out what was going on I enabled Developer options and set "Enable Wi-Fo verbose logging".
If I go through the same cycle, it connects for a second, then goes to saved and shows this underneath the SSID
"NETWORK_SELECTION_DISABLED+ASSOCIATION REJECTION=1"
I'm on Android version 7.1.2 Build No. TOS137B - N2G47H
The phone isn't rooted or anything
Can you tell me what's going on and how to fix it?
Hi there
Just wondering if you have McAfee installed?
I'm not much of an expert but I had a similar issue with WiFi on my Medion X2050 (I think that's what it's called) and I uninstalled McAfee and the problem was gone.
Hello,
I can connect to all the Wifi but home Wifi which stubbornly rebuffs me with 'Network access denied'. The issue happened after I came back from a trip to france then China and tried to connect. I live in HK and the network (that had not changed) could be detected, but connection impossible. All other Wifis are fine... and this happening 2 weeks after I bought this phone..
I tried to reboot restart the phone, forget the network and reconnect to it, changing SSID of the phone, changing IP address. The phone won't connect.
When I go in 'Setting, Backup and restore', I find no possibility to reset all the networks, contrary to the possibility that seems to exist on other Huaweis>> Is this normal or this could be linked to a phone issue ?
So basically I am totally stuck after trying in total 2 hours of everything I found on the Internet.
If the last option is to totally reboot the phone to its infancy factory state, I am afraid it will be more painful to reinstall everything rather than having no Wifi.
Do you have an idea of something else I could try ? Thanks for your help
