Hello I have just acquired an Asus Prime TF201 and i want to root it and install a custom rom as i have on all my other android devices, perhaps i'm being a little blonde at the moment or i'm unfamiliar with the layout of the development section but i am unable to see a decent guide as to how to accomplish this.
Is there any right way of rooting this device ? Could anyone loan me any pointers please?
I really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers.
PS: Looking forward to porting some of my six axis profiles to this tablet, i've made quite a few

Hello Everyone! I am new to these forums, and to tablets in general.
I have spent a few hours looking for a way to root my tablet, which I have buyed 3 weeks ago.
I want to root it because I have tried to install some apps that need rooted device.
I have found a really usefull thread on this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2216390
This is the only file I need to root my Tablet? https://www.copy.com/s/MWbgEpor6yJa/AMPCHQ1.9beta9.apk
I don't want custom Rom, or anything, only rooting, and a backup.
Could any of you experienced people help me out with a few advices?
By the way this is the one I have found first, and was thinking of trying it, but I can't open the link given to dowload the files needed

anyways i am looking for a way to root this tablet to put google play on it so i can put battlefield 4 commander app and the gta V ifruit app on it to use but i am not about to brick this by following any rooting method and i have never done rooting before so i am wanting to know a easy sure fire way to do this.
also if there is a way to put these apps on this tablet and getting them to work i would love to know how to do that instead of rooting my tablet, please include links and very accurate step by step details on any of this, thank you in advance.
Hi all, I recently purchased a Kindle Fire HDX 7, the price was too good to miss or (to be honest) I'd have bought another device; however I had it in my mind all-along that I'd flash it with another Android rom of some sort. I know by rights I should be scouring the WWW for answers on how to do this (and I have put in more hours than I really have to spare), but I have come up with nothing as the recent Fire OS 13.4.5.1 update seems to nullify Towelroot and Jcase that I found in the downloadable toolkit v.95. The first time I tried Jcase it seemed to work for a few minutes then seemed to undo itself??? I'm no pro with these things and could really use some helpful advice on how I can install a custom rom (preferably Cyanogenmod but am open to options). I hope somebody can help and thanks in advance.
Seeing as you have 4.5.1, there's really nothing you can do in terms of modding.
For now, you're stuck until someone discovers a new exploit.

Okay, thanks for the info. I'll stay hopeful that somebody finds a solution soon.
Hi,
first off sorry if this is the wrong forum this place is huge and I have gotten lost a few times.
I have been searching for a while for a guide on how to root the ASUS Zenpad 8 Z380cx I have only found for the Zenpad 8 S Z580,
Model Number P022
Android 5.0.2
Kernel/build WW_V4.8.0_20150923
Thank you for any help you may provide.
I recently picked one up myself so I'm bumping this in hopes that there is something new happening about rooting this or a recovery
Hoping for root
I picked this up over the holidays from Microcenter for $100. It's definitely a nice tablet for the price. Hoping for root so I can transfer data from my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.
I'm also looking for root/recovery for this device. I've been through the filesystem with adb shell, but I haven't been able to find any holes. That's not to say they're not there... I just haven't found any.
