Rear Camera - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

So the plastic (or is it glass?) broke for the rear camera. The camera works fine but that piece broke, what part should I order to replace it?

Change main rear camera?

Hi,
Is it possible to change the default main rear camera from the top one to the lower one (when held vertically)?
The clear plastic cover has developed a crack right over the top lens making photos blurry.
Can't afford to send it for replacement at the mo, but can't figure out if it's possible to switch the cameras instead...
Thx

Perhaps it would be easier to remove the plastic and rotate it 180 degrees so the cracked part is then on the bottom.

Yeh, methinks that rotating the glass is your best bet. Actually switching the cameras would require a considerable bit of coding

Where to buy mid frame for the S3?

Hello,
I am wondering if anybody can point me in the right direction of buying the middle part of the S3. The part I mean is where the volume button is and the other really thin piece on top of that. I'm not sure what it's called so trying to find it on ebay is proving to be quite hard.
Thanks

Theres no "mid frame". The piece you perceive as the middle belongs to the front housing. You'll need the glass too.

So it's apart of the AMOLED display or the digitizer?

Usually when you buy a "screen" it is a package that includes the amoled display and digitiser, pre-mounted in the front housing with glass.
You can buy all these separately. If your amoled panel and digitiser are fine, you can buy "front housing" and glass. Reason being, you cannot remove the glass from existing front housing without damaging it

So there's no way to replace that section without buying a whole new unit? The screen is fine its just the side

Did you not read my last post? You can buy all the pieces separately. Just buy a front housing and glass. About £20

Cracked my screen. (Replacement suggestions)

I cracked my outer screen. The digitizer seems to be fine but If I plan to sell it, it's gotta be fixed beforehand.
Anyone got a breakdown for what I can do to fix this myself?

Ya, I think we all have had to replace a screen. It's not easy, but doable. Here is a good price on a replacement screen http://www.amazon.com/Black-Samsung-Galaxy-Replacement-Screen/dp/B00HDAPL68 and this is a good video on how to do it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMEeWEbtqcU I would watch the video a couple of times first. Or take it to Sprint corporate store they will usually do it while you wait, and may or may not charge you. Good Luck !!!

Yeah I did this and it worked fine just go slow when taking off the old screen heat it with a hair dryer as you peel it off and clean it real good after b4 install of the new screen try to find some kind of glue that may come with the new screen cuz after I did mine the first time it worked fine but the touch response was a lil slower then b4. But still way cheaper then sending it out for repair.
I'm mainly concerned about the glass itself, having connectors or ribbons that need solder

Look around in your city....like in Phoenix here there are a couple cell phone fix stores that will replace glass for like 20 bucks.... Well worth it for me not having to do it ...

The glass itself only has the bottom connectors for the back, menu and home .If you decide to install yourself just take your time and go slow and you'll be fine. Like the jimzweb1 said there are a number of youtube videos that will walk you though. http://youtu.be/S_BadHtLPbU How to Separate Glass Only on Galaxy Note 3!: http://youtu.be/HwrSdrySqec Hope these help a bit.
If you have insurance through Sprint, take it in, there is no deductible for just replacing the glass.

scratch on camera glass?

My camera photos are terrible bad due to scratches on covering glass. Is it possible to remove them any how? If not then is it possible to change the glass? Is it available in market and how much it will costs?
Any help would be appreciable to me

if you are sure the problem is the scratches . The glass as far as I know is part of the phones back cover . It is a piece of plastic and I don't think that replacing it is a big deal . The back of it comes out with few screws and its not even connected to anything . Just take it to a repair shop and ask for it to be changed . For more info youtube something like gs2 teardown or repair guide .
Thanks for your response I will try to dismantle the phone

Magnetic edges?

It appears the long edges are magnetic?
Edit: and the back where it says HTC.

Yes.
The edit: and yes
I found that out by setting two side by side, they sucked themselves together. Then I realized it's for the magnets in the covers to snap to.

Ahh the cover. I assumed only the cover had magnets that would explain it.
