Alright so a couple weeks ago my Samsung Galaxy S3 ran out of battery and when I turned it on again, it had for some reason entered Factory Mode. During Factory Mode everything that I have installed on my phone is (hopefully only temporarily) gone and I cannot install anything on my phone. So I did some googling to solve this problem and it appeared that I first needed to root my phone. So I did that following the instructions in this video /watch?v=My_g28MrlwU
After I (probably successfully) rooted my phone I needed to install Root Explorer. However due to my phone being in Factory Mode, it thinks it doesn't have any more storage to install the app, despite pretty much nothing being installed on the phone. I installed Root Explorer on my PC instead and thought transfering it over that way would work, but it did not.
I asked my friend who is pretty tech savvy but he doesnt know what to do, please help I have some pictures attached for clarity. Thanks in advance

hello, my exuse for my bad english.
i've got a little problem with my galaxy mini GTS5570, it was rooted.
so i tried a new app that requires root (needs permission from superuser) for partitioning, at least, that's what i tought. the app is called S2E (simple2ext) and it needed an reboot for downloading, a cache file or something. so i turn off my galaxy and went to turn it on, but nothing was happening, it stayed on black screen, i couldn't get into download mode, or recovery. so i went looking for this problem and it seemed to be an hard brick. i tried many things online to make the thing work again, but without luck:crying:. i tried one-click, the battery trick, and many other things (things where i didn't had to pay for). so i'm asking you with my last hope:fingers-crossed:, how can i fix this problem?

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry if ever I'm posting this on the wrong section cause I'm not sure if this is a problem from android or samsung.
I'm not good at all when it comes to phone troubleshooting so I will try my luck and ask questions about what have happened to my phone just awhile ago. I got this phone from Japan(Samsung Galaxy SII Wimax isw11sc) months ago and I only use it for multimedia purposes as it is region locked and I am at another country atm. everything is running fine until my phone asked for a software update(not really sure what upgrade that was) and I decided to give it a shot and let it download the updates. I left it to do some chores and when I came back to check on it, it reboot looped itself on the AU(mobile phone company from japan) logo.
I did some research and found some things like hard reset and download mode. I tried to do the hard reset(power/home/volume up) method but I can't seem to access the settings instead, the phone keeps on showing me this "Preparing for S/W update. Please wait." after a few seconds, the phone will reset itself back to the reboot loop.
I tried to do the download mode using odin mode but then, I realized that my phone and computer won' connect via USB port because well, my phone won't boot. Also downloaded the manual driver but my pc won't recognize it.(win7 if that helps.)
Please tell me what have happened and what I can do to fix this problem, I don't really care if i lose everything that I have stored on my phone, I just want it to work again. Help will be much appreciated, Thank you.
Hi, total noob to rooting phone here and need some help.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 model SHH-I337M. The lack of being able to read memory card as a hard drive and being stuck in MTP mode has lead me to want to root my phone. Also the ability to delete some bloatware is desired.
I read through some forums and came across one that has lead me to root my phone. Followed this forum as it seems to root the phone but keep it close to stock samsung ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293800
So I completed the CF root and think I was sucessful, Super SU was installed on my phone and then I installed Busy Box as I was under the impression this app was also needed. Seemed to work as my computer was then able to read my sd card when I choose Mass storage mode instead of MTP.
Since I am a total noob I don't really understand the process above but like I say, it seemed sucessful and there was no issues with the phone.
Later I opened the Super SU app and once I did that it said something about the Binary unit needed upgrading. It gave me to choices normal and some other method related to HTC phones that I don't remember. Not really understanding what was going on I chose normal and then proceeded to restart my phone after it was done.
Once my phone restarted 2 issues have appeared. Once the phone restarts a Bell push to Talk app starts up saying I am offline. This is not a big issue for me as this is one of the apps I wish to delete. The second thing that happens is a notification appears that the phone is uploading/downloading messages but nothing happens it just stays at 0% complete and doesn't go away. I clicked on the notification and the app is wssyncmlnps, from what I've found this is some sort of Samsung update app for KIES and OTA upgrades.
Just wondering if this is an issue, and how I might get this to go away. Everytime I restart the phone it does the same thing.
Thanks for any help, much appreciated.
Hello everyone, i have a problem with soft & hard reset of my phone. If my thread is not on the right place, move it then, i apologize.
I am going to give you as much as information i have. My phone is BLU Life One L120 which is having a duplicate Micromax Canvas 4 A210 which is having the same chipset as i read into my thread for my BLU. Basically what i want to do now is just to soft or hard reset my phone... it sound easy i know but i wouldn't be asking if i haven't got an issue.
First of all i am using stock version 4.2.1 and kernal 3.4.5
I believe that i am having my drivers which i found in my official BLU Life One thread - http://d-h.st/U8e , also i tried with All MTK USB drivers 2014 http://androidurdu.net/mediatek-adb-usb-vcom-driver-pack-mt65xx-support/
However i am able to transfer files between my pc & phone but when i try to root the device (i tried with Kingo root/ One click root) it isn't recognizing my device or is unplugged, which is not true. I remember that once ago i installed TWRP recovery but i can't access from there no longer and i don't know the reason of that, otherwise i would reset it from there. Eventually recently i uninstalled superSU app and now i don't have root access anymore, which grow as a problem also. I checked it with RootChecker app. Also when i was doing both the soft and hard reset i removed the both SIMs & SD card just to be sure that i am doing it right.
When i use the soft reset it's giving me the option to run it but when it restarts it's all the same, nothing changes. It's the same with hard reset when i try to enter into Recovery mode.
Q: Why do i want to soft & hard reset it ?
A:
The first reason is that not a long ago my wi-fi signal got weaker despite that i'm next to my router and it wasn't like that when i bought it firstly and i want to use it instead of paying for it. I read a lot of stuff, but i can't find anything exactly the same.. which is why that i believe that if i reset it, it may went back normally.
The second reason is that i just want to change my factory rom with a custom one , because the phone is having a great performance
I hope that i gave a lot of information, thanks in advance :good:
Hi,
I’d really appreciate it if someone can help me, as I’ve not been able to find my exact problem and solution anywhere in the last 5 days of trying to fix my Samsung Galaxy S3 SPH-L710 – Sprint.
Not sure what happened but I had just swapped out my battery and my problem began – I have 3 batteries that I charge and swap when needed… one of the reasons I’m still using the S3. Been wanting to get a new phone but just haven’t decided which one and kept putting if off. Anyway… After charging the battery I turned on the phone and it got stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S3 screen. Went online and read I should try a cache wipe. I did that and got a bunch of failed to mount lines and a few other failures. Mostly failed cache. Not sure if this had anything to do with it but I was running low on the internal free space and had to delete a few things to make more space and then it would fill up again etc… Internal size is 16gb.
Here’s what I tried:
Attempted the 4.4.2 ROM flash in Odin. – Got a PIT partition message and then tried again and got write Failures after NAND started. Tried a few more times and same thing but I don’t get the PIT error anymore… I tried different Odin versions, computers, and cables, and same results. I have the correct USB driver. I’m using the same version ROM that’s on my phone, but the build name on my phone is last (newest) update and I could only find the previous build of the same 4.4.2 version. Note – This phone was a swap by Sprint when my first S3 had a start button issue. This one is a refurbished… not sure if that changes anything.
I also tried a TWRP install via Odin and it Failed.
I tried to Root via Odin and it Failed.
I DID NOT do a factory reset because I don’t want to lose all my data.
MORE INFO:
Phone is not Rooted and never was.
Phone goes into download mode and also stock recovery mode without any problems.
I never set the developer option and I didn’t enable debugging. Not sure how, now that my phone is soft-bricked.
QUESTIONS:
I’d like to preserve all my data and settings and somehow back them up so that I can put them on a reset phone.
Is there any way to work around this soft-brick and grab all the info including the system info and settings, all my files, and pictures, etc??… Everything! … I’d like to get the phone working again and put it all back on it and be the same as it was. I have so much important stuff on the phone. I have been doing backups via Kies but haven’t done it for a few months and I don’t even want to lose even a few months of data, and the way my phone was set up. Is there anything I can do to basically get a mirror image of my phone? Assuming all the information is still intact but it just can’t mount properly.
Is the developer / debugging setting preventing me from being able to do what I tried? Is it because I’m not Rooted? Is there OEM Locking on my phone?
Should I try to install TWRP from the stock recovery via external SD card? And then Backup from there? Is that different than doing it from Odin or will that fail too?
Please help – I love my S3. No phone for 5 days and I feel so disconnected :crying:
Thank you!
