Hi guys, newbie here. I've been an Android user for a while now, but never needed to post because I didn't feel like I could contribute with my very limited knowledge. It's unfortunate that my first post has to be a plea for help, but I've no other choice. :crying:
I was trying to revert my unlocked TF201 back to an official Asus ROM from the current Cyanogenmod ROM, and successfully flashed it using TWRP. (Went into TWRP > Install > Selected the ROM > Success! > Reboot). My TF201 tablet now gets past the initial boot phase (where it says device is unlocked on the top left and Powered by Nvidia on the bottom right), but once it gets to the next screen with the Asus logo and the YouTube loading sign (the spinning circular thing), it halts. The YouTube loading sign-looking thing is spinning, but it doesn't really go anywhere.
If it's of any help, I am able to power it off and restart the tablet.

I wish I could tell you, but I don't know. I received this tablet a few days ago as part of a trade. TWRP is no longer on there anymore, and the RCP(?) thing, the recovery kernel, has an Android w/ an exclamation mark whenever I select it.

Hold down power and volume down the same time until the machine restarts. Keep holding them down until you get the icons on screen (rck, wipe, usb etc). Look up the top left and there is a load of writing. At the end of the long line with bootloader in it is a number that's starts with either 9 or 10. What is it?
I managed to get it to boot into the Asus official ROM somehow. I selected something from the pwr+vol down option and it booted up fine. It was originally in Chinese though, but fortunately I knew my way around Android well enough to change the language.
Case closed, thanks for all the help!
I apologize in advance if this is the wrong section, but I am a brand new member and can't post in the developers' section if I was supposed to. Also, I need help ASAP
So I rooted my AT&T LG Optimus G with no problem. Then went to unlock the bootloader. I decided to pay the dollar to get the app that does it for you. So I ran it and it said I successfully unlocked my device. Well I went to reboot into fastboot mode and the LG logo flashed on my screen and just went to black. It won't do anything more than that. I can't get into recover, fastboot, or any other screen. That's it. Am I SOL? Did I really mess my device up?
Please help! Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I have no idea what I did but somehow managed to boot into fastboot mode and went to CWM and installed The Base just fine. I have no idea what happened but I am soooooo happy right now.
EDIT 2: Maybe I spoke too soon. I started running "The Base" and went it prompted me saying it's gonna restart my device, it did and the screen is black again (The same black that appeared after my LG logo from before)
EDIT 3: So I decided to run it again and this time, I picked the other kernel. It booted up fine this time. All is well.
If you run into anymore problems, there is a program available in this irc channel. It is used to restore a bricked phone.

Hi there,
New to the forum here... so I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong section.
Anyways, I'm brand new to rooting and I think I messed up my device bad.
So I was trying to install cm-11-20141008-SNAPSHOT-M11-m8 to my HTC One M8.
Yes, I also installed/flashed whatever the term is for it too. They where both successful installs.
I went threw the setup process for CyanogenMod, and noticed my Sim Card wasn't being read.
I panicked, (lol I'm such a nooby) and I tried to reset my phone from my previous backup.
However, it apparently FAILED, and I was foolish enough to hit "reboot" anyways. A messaged soon after
popped up saying "your phone is not rooted... root it?" when before it was already rooted. My phone then
restarted and now is in this ENDLESS loading screen. Here is an image I found off Google (Sadly I can't take a screenshot of my phone...lol)
but this is what screen it is stuck on. Also, I can NOT get into safe boot. I've tried. No dice. I am starting to worry now. =/ Please let me know if there is
ANY fix to this or if I just permanently broke my phone... I should of just stayed away from rooting, but CyanogenMod looked so cool and I obviously failed at installing it. =/

Boot into your bootloader by powering off and then holding the power and volume down. Then select "fastboot" and run an RUU.

Thanks for your reply!
However, I already tried that method before, but luckily...
I tried the power button+volume button up and it reset it and I was able to load it
back into fast boot!
Hi,
I recently unlocked and rooted my device. Asus Transformer Prime (TF201).
I tried to boot it into recovery, wouldn't boot the rom, kept freezing, hard reset it. Then it booted into the official android version, I was running 4.1.1, build # 10.4.2.18
Then I went into recovery, and I was like "oh yeah, I remember reading that it has to be a fresh install, that way there's no incompatibility". So I decided to press the down button until I got to erase everything in the menu, I did it. Erased it, device reset itself, and now it's stuck in the main loading screen, where it says Asus, this device is unlocked in the top left, and the nvidia symbol in the bottom right. The device wont boot into anything, not even recovery settings. Is there a fix? Or did I just make my tablet a paper weight?
I tried searching the web, I found all these articles, and frankly I'm very overwhelmed, and didn't know what to do or which one to read. I just got the tablet as a Valentines Day gift from my wife, and I would have to have ruined it. Please help me.
EDIT: I got my device to appear as "APX" in devices and printers, it's an unknown device. But I'm still lost.

There is only hope, if you can manage to get into bootloader screen by pressing power + vol down.
APX mode would only help you, if you had pulled your nvflash files.

Hi, u can follow the steps listed in this blog. I just installed CM11 using the same steps over the weekend. U need to perform a factory reset and wipe the cache after u installed the ROM using the CWM recovery. If not, it will be struck in the boot screen with the arrow going in circle. Below is the blog address:

Hi,
I've same problem!
I tried to flash to android 5.0. I tried many things via twrp and now, thats it:
My TF201 stucks also at bootscreen and the recovery menu (Power on + Vol.Down) won't work. That means I'm not able to get in fastboot mode or something like that. The only possiblity to switch the device off at the moment is to unplug the battery
I've searched for a solution in many boards, but unitl now i haven't found anything.
At the moment it seems that the only possibility we have, is to change mainboard, or to try to connect via an external programmer (for flashing the memory), but that would be for sure not the easiest way, or it could be also nearly impossible.
So at the moment I'm praying to god, that someone will have another solution and will post it here, because otherwise I can cast away my loved transformer prime :crying:
Looking forward to hear any news about that topic :fingers-crossed:

You say this "My TF201 stucks also at bootscreen and the recovery menu". Does that mean you can still access recovery (TWRP)?

No, thats the problem, since yesterday it is not possible, because I tried to flash back to an older version of TWRP, and since that I can't access RCK and then I tried to wipe data, and since that, I even can't access to recovery console (Power on + Vol.Down).
That means I can't do anything at the moment, I see only the asus boot logo and that's it.
So I have no idea to communicate with the tablet at the moment.
The problem was, that I was not really careful, because my opinion was, that it's impossible to brick the whole tablet, but now it's gone!
Is that the end of the story, or do you know therefore a solution?
Regards,
Jim
Seems that you are in APX mode. Hope you have your blob + nvflash and wheelie to restore the bricksafe.img. (It saved my TF when i was in your position)
Good luck

Unfortunately unless you have nvflash backups then you will have to get the board replaced. Forget contacting Asus as they would charge you more than the tablet is worth. Try and find one with a smashed screen on ebay etc cheap that still works that you can swap the board out from.

Thanks for your feedback,
So I don't have these files :crying:
I found also another thread with same story, and it seems that I can search for a new MoBo....

...or buy a new tablet, maybe the better solution...
Hey
Thanks for an awesome forum, been lurking here alot and managed to flash both phones and tablets with your guides. Now ive run into problems.
I am a "trickerhappy amateur" when it comes to this kind of stuff and all i flashed so far have been functional devices. Now my dad asked me to look at his tablet to see if i can get it working.
The tablet is rooted new by a company so my dad could have special programs for measuring cell phone grids (he builds em) so i saw a twrp logo at one of the bootloops.
The tablet was just "starting up" forever when i got it so not even a bootloop just the white swirly screen.
I have tried flashing with flashtool and it went "well" no errors but when i restarted it just said "something went wrong" and softbricked, i have tried xperia companion but it says "no" since the tablet have unlocked bootloader. Where do i go from here?
The tablet doesnt need to go back to the way it was with all the special programs, my dad is retired now so my goal is just any rom so youtube and such work.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks in advance
/Mike

Perhaps you can try to instal custom rom such as lineageos 17.1
