Go to storage then options then go to usb computer connections then check media device(MTP).

What OS are you using? if using linux, try adding a udev rule.

Maybe a usb jig could "force" your phone to go into download mode...Search for that..

I have tried almost all CM7.2 Roms available here but could'nt find it working.
In Roms like that from FAT Team,
The USB Tether option is highlighted but when i click it
It says USB tethred and then next second itself it'll say USB not connected
In cm9by Maclaw, USB Tether Option is highlighted but it doesn't seem to do nything. Once i click nothing happens ;(
Then i was worried thinking My Ace has some problem so I flashed Stock Based Custom Rom and bang USB Tethring is working....
so is it normal ??
What say guys??

Or you can download clock work tether or easy tether from the market. It will give you step wise instructions 2 get it working. easy tether Works great on my phone.

I think i have the drivers as i could see them in device manager
1. samsung android usb modem
2. samsung android composite adb interface
nywy can u get me the drivers u r using ??

Lol I didn't have to use drivers the last time I tried USB tethering via fat cm7 rom
Btw u tried zaqwankira's link? ?
Else Google "android 2.3.4 for Samsung galaxy ace androidflip.com '" in their guide they share the drivers those drivers worked for me while using Odin many times
P.S. : I m sorry I can't provide any links as I m on my mobile and my net connection is kinda slow...uploading to mediafire is impossible for me ..sorry bro but u try the drivers they share I m sure they'll work

USB tethering never worked for me in all the cm 7 Roms I had flashed b4 this one ..even my stock gb rom wouldn't allow me to tether ..I tried wired tether too on vo-1's rom ..never worked for me ...this is the only rom after stock froyo which has working USB tethering for me this was the sole reason why I switched from vo-1's rom

I see there are three versions
1st released on 12.02.2012
2nd on 19.02 and the latest on 14.03.2012

I want to try those though i dont need ill b needing them at all
Btw [email protected] , my friend told me that androidflip link has broken ( it was a filesonic link and we all know what has happened to filesonic now ) samfirmware is your only hope now btw i just remembered i dont have the drivers with me too so i cant upload them even if i have a fast internet connect. Im off to searching them myself :banghead:

Im using codename9 rom , have problem in MTP .
I'm bored to use Mass storage everytime to go to settings and change.
Appreciate to provide a solution or atleast a toggle to change the settings..

Try this:
Go to settings
Click on Xperia
Then click on connectivity
There wud be a button called 'change usb connection mode' click that
Then select MSC or MTP.
Simple..
And I'm using another Rom by the way. Sorry I don't know how codename 9 looks. ( it should pretty much be the same)..

My dear fend instal a apk file named rasher.apk from .
Your devise is need root permissions .
Instal apk when u open this apk u see there are to option for recovery installation than select cwm recovery .
Your recovery will be downloaded ..
Now instal it and it will ask u to instal into recovery than press OK .
Now u have cwm custam recovery.
Now u able to use custam from and many more features..
