I have the same problem. I have both a Nexus 9 and a Nexus 7, both on Lollipop. Only the N9 has the problem.

This is beyond annoying. Any chance of a hardware defect on these?
Like i said its happening on multiple wireless networks.

It's for the N5, but may be applicable. I'm @ work now but I'll try this when I get home.

Yes and no. If the problem is a third party app, factory reset won't fix it, unless you restore as new and don't reinstall any apps. Safe mode will at least let you see if it's a third party app although you won't be able to do a lot with the tablet while it's in safe mode. Just email, youtube, etc.
But if it's happening every time the tablet sleeps - mine's not, just about once a week or so - you only need to let it sleep in safe mode and wake it back up to see if it's a third party app.

For sure over night or a long sleep. Pretty much every time if its extended.
I will try safe mode and post back.

Some of the posts were wifi not working at all, some were after sleep. Either way, it looked like it worked for me for a couple of days, but this morning it was disconnected.
TiBackup ran last night, and it was supposed to sync to the cloud. It errored out with a connectivity problem. Thinking back, I believe the last time it dropped was on a scheduled backup day. I'm not certain, though.
Did you try safe mode, and if so, did it help at all?

So i did safe mode for 24 hours and that fixed it.
So i did a factory reset, and that appears to have fixed it also.
Not sure what app broke it. I had no crazy app installed a few games tapatalk titanium. etc.
WEIRD!
But thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Well, at least with Lollipop it's easier to rebuild from a factory reset. Guess I'll have to do that too.
BTW, unlike my N7 and S5, I have a fairly minimal install on the N9. All mainstream stuff, and only about half the app count of the other devices.

Where any of you experiencing random reboots until you flashed a particular ROM? If so, which one solved the problem for you? I'm getting at least one random reboot per hour and it is even happening when I am talking on the phone. This is NOT acceptable!
I'm on my 2nd MoPho and I don't have confidence that another replacement will solve the issue.
Sometimes its an app that causes the reboots...i would freeze apps one by one until you find the culprit. Try it out!

That seems like it would take forever to test since the reboots are random. What is the best procedure to follow?
Hello
I live in Italy and I have my Mopho with sim "3 ITA" (UMTS) and I've never had a reboot, I think is a problem only with CMDA networks

You might want to start first with the apps that are running, it's really all I can think of, but having so many reboots is ridiculous...if anything i would switch it out for a new Photon...then if it happens again, you might be more assured that its an app thing.

That's just it. I don't really have any apps running. I haven't used the phone since last night and have received numerous reboots since then.
I think I'm going to attempt another factory reset and flash the latest SBF. I'll wait a while and if the reboots continue to occur, then I'll try joker's Skinny ROM. If the reboots still occur, I'll try a 3rd replacement phone.
Best of luck! I hope out all works out...this phone is a monster!

Did you do the MSL # reset? Sprint can guide you through it if you can't do it yourself.
##72786# [followed by your MSL code] clears all voice and data programming, then forces a handsfree activation
I have had no heat issues or reboots in about 30 days.
You can research this issue, but it will work.

WOW! I've never heard of this solution. Where you getting many random reboots before performing this procedure? Should I do a factory reset too? I can't wait to give this a try.
Also, is it possible that I just have a battery with bad internals? I replaced my launch day phone due to the same exact issues I'm experiencing with this refurbed replacement.

For me, my phone worked perfectly when I had zero installed apps on it. Therefore, I knew it was something I was doing/installing that was causing the problem. I started with the apps I used the most and installed them one at a time leaving a day between each install to see the effects. Everything was working well until I installed EE then within a few hours, my phone did a RR. Therefore, I knew something was up with EE. After doing some research, I found out that other Motorola phones where having the same problem with EE. I contacted the dev and he fixed it pretty quickly. Now, EE is the best email app for sure!
cool.. thats good for you... i hope i could find out what keeps my wife's phone to restart... right now she bought a new lg remarq.. no apps no prob hahaha thats what she said ... but still mopho is a good phone so im still looking forward to unlocking it on boost mobile tnx for sharing
For the last two days my phone has been anything off at random... nothing has been changed... I'm on the cm9 nightly from the two days ago... this is the thing tho... If I gentely tap the phone it will shut off or shake it... so I figured maybe after time the batter is lose... but it also is turning off if it sits completely still...unless its playing music. It has not turned off since Round 8 ad I have just had it playing music this full time ...any ideas??
I already did a full wipe and re install and when I get home I'm going to Oden back to stock and redo everything.

My only suggestion at this point is odin back to stock 2.1.
Unfortunately this sounds like symptoms of hardware failure. I had a phone (cliq) which would do the exact thing as you described...the phone would vibrate shut off and reboot unexpectedly. I would open the physical keyboard and it would also shut off...this is totally hardware related from my understanding. But that is the worst case scenario.
Hopefully it is a software related issue in your case. Not much else i can say.

Overclocked? Voltages changed at all from default? If you have anything set in voltage control or setcpu, get rid of them and try it. You could also try booting into recovery and see if you can reproduce the problem. That should also help determine if it is software or hardware related.
If the phone is plugged in it does not seem to reboot. i have not had time to mess with it i will check it out this weekend. Weird because it only seems to be doing this at work? I have not had it restart on me at all while at home.
Also if i have the music playing it will not turn off. This weekend im going to oden back to stock and see how it goes. otherwise gonna try to deal with it long enough till the gs3 comes out, ha.

thanks for the response. and I found my problem already too, I had a bad power ribbon inside the phone that was torn.
Hi everyone,
i don't know if someone already encountered this but sometimes my GS3 does not respond when i try to wake him up. (it's not turned off just standby). The screen stays black en nothing works. One time the screen did woke up but i couldn't unlock it because the touchscreen didnt work. It could not be turned off and the buttons didn't do anything! The only way for me to get out of this was a battery pull!
I did not root or modify anything on this phone because i like the stock samsung TW for the first time .
Did anyone else have this problem? And how did u solve this? Thank u.
Possibly due to an app you have installed.

Thank u i didn't thought of that. Is their an easy way to find out wich app this could cause? I still find it very weird. If an app is not compatible than it just shouldnt install intead of breakin the phone right? XD
This happened me last night as well. Couldn't do anything other than turn the phone off, and when it came back on it was fine again.
Unrooted as well. Would like to find out how I can prevent this from happening again?

Yes, if it happens again than i will try that. But i already sent the unit back from were i ordered it. They will send me a new one because its their policy to send a new one if something happens in 2 weeks.
So i will see if it still occurs with the new one otherwise its one of my apps. Than i will install only a few apps and see what causes it. If it doesnt occur one more thime than the unit was faulty. Ill keep u guys updated.

Did it happen once? My phone had it like 3 times so thats why i sent it back. But if it still occurs with my new phone than it must be one of the apps i got Luckily they got DOA policy. I asked if it includes ''the phone does not work as it should" and they said yes send it back u will get a new one yaay but now i have no phone
I had this. After a hard reset, multiple times, and configuring with no accounts (no samsaung account, no google, nothing), it still happened. I ended up returning the phone and I've not had a single problem since.
I think it was either faulty memory or a dodgy firmware flash (more likely). Either way, I didn't care to find out and now it's all good.

My phone occasionally doesn't get locked automatically. Whenever I receive a message or notification, the screen would come up but doesn't go back into sleep mode after certain time. It just stays awake unless you lock it manually. It doesn't happen all the time but I've noticed it's happening more frequently now days. This just kills my battery life.
Is this known issue with the phone? My phone is just rooted without any custom roms. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
I'm having the exact same problem, it would be much appreciated if someone can suggest a solution. I'm currently running the base ROM.
When I got the phone a few days ago mine would take time to lock. I went to settings > display>lockscreen>lock timer and set it to immediately. It has worked fine since - rooted, stock rom.

I am experiencing the same problem as everyone. I just noticed it now. Everything set to minimum of staying awake. I have to manually lock it too. Noticed it when I was charging. I havent noticed it before until now. Also some chargers dont work well with the Optimus G which causes the touchscreen to be sensored when nothing is touching it. I dont know why its staying awake besides that.

If you are using the base ROM, there is a script that gets run each boot that sets the stay awake option to on in the developer options.
It was left over from some testing of the ROM. Nottach said it was safe to get rid of.
The offending script is in /system/etc/init.d/
It is called 69thebase (or something like that, I no longer have the file, I know it is numbered 69).
After you delete it, just go back to developer options and make sure stay awake is unchecked and reboot.
Original Post
Now, you have had issues with non-LG chargers causing touch issues?
I let a family member borrow mine because they left theirs at work. I have been using my old phones charger, and just noticed my screen is really bad when plugged in... it loses touch and it is really slow.
It is from the charger and not the phone?
Awesome.
Thanks.
Hi there! I was wondering if anyone could help me with an issue I have been having on my HAM 2. I have it upgraded to the last Lollipop release from Huawei.
I have wifi at work and a different wifi connection at home. When I go from one place to another, the HAM 2 will not reconnect automatically to the access point without me waking it up.
At work, we have multiple wifi access points throughout the building... it would be nice if I could get it to just reconnect despite the screen being off. I miss out on emails because of this since I don't have data.
Edit1: I forgot to mention, I made sure I have "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" as always. It stays connected just fine after I wake it up. But if I leave the house and come back, it would re-establish the wifi connection unless I wake it. After that, it's fine until I leave again.
Any suggestions are totally welcome! Thanks so much.

Thanks for the info! I read some, but am afraid did not finish. Not sure if there was a resolution or not. Glad to hear I'm not the only one running into the issue.
I finally took the plunge and unlocked my bootloader then installed the latest CarbonROM release. Didn't like EMUI anyway. This one seems to reconnect to WIFI without screen-on just fine. Probably something to do with Huawei's built-in power management features? Just guessing.
short answer for others is A complete reinstall of b322 fixed all wifi issues.

LMAO! That seems to become the default answer to all hard problems ...... if anyone tries it, and it works, keep us posted.
I don't run B322 (I run PACROM), so isn't there a way to adjust power management features to leave WiFi alone on B322? Or even tame down the power management or turn it off just to see how that affects WiFi connectivity.

It seemed like there were at least a couple different WIFI-related issues being discussed in the thread you linked. Reinstalling B322 did not fix the WIFI-roaming issue I was having (it sounds like you have this too?). I have not tried PAC-ROM, but so far the first November release of CarbonROM is working okay. 40+ hours of uptime thus far. I'll let you know if I try PAC-ROM and have the same issues, but I'm not sure I'll mess with it unless it breaks again.
Thanks again for all your help in pointing me towards discussion of this issue. I hope you find resolution to your particular problem!
