Rooted phone again last night after I unrooted and did a factory restore because I started having a couple f/c and twice screen froze. I unrooted 3 days ago and it was working perfect, so I rooted last night, this morning I got another screen freeze, it would go off/on with the power button, but not respond to my touch. Coincidence or because of root?
I should say that I have froze/removed nothing, only installed sqlite to add wifi tethering.
I've been rooted for a little over a week with no problems.
I do have juice defender on it and smart actions working together, I wonder if its creating a conflict between them. I uninstalled JD and see what happens.

That's probably the cause. Root alone should not interfere with os operation.

Root is simply allowing an UID to become 0 (root).
The only thing that can make your phone to have problems is an app (or multiple apps).

Hi!
I have a Google Nexus phone on Verizon and it has recently begun waking up on it's own with no apparent reason. It keeps doing this and kills the battery within an hour or so. It only seems to do this when running on battery. It does not happen while charging.
I wanted to know if there is a way to monitor what process/application is waking the phone up.
I have uninstalled the two apps that I remember installing since the problem began and I'd rather not go through having to uninstall every app to figure out what is causing it!
TIA!

Yep, there is. Just try wakelock detector.
Other people use also betterbattery stats, but I can't read it.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I've installed WLD but I'm a bit confused by what I should be looking at to see what app is turning my screen on. I read the presentation about WLD but it did not seem to help me. (Maybe I have a feeble brain!)
I did try disabling the application (Lightflow) that seemed to be waking the phone up a lot but the screen is still coming on without reason.
If you could point me the right direction, I'd REALLY appreciate it!
Hi, I've been using Greenify for quite a while, and love it. However, recently my Note 4 has been turning on by itself with a dim display, closings apps and shutting off again. I believe that is the process to shut off apps after you've shut the phone off for a few minutes, but mine is doing it at random times, and because it is dim I can't particularly see the first app each time it is shutting off.
I keep a list of every app I install and changes I make to the system, because I have run into problems with installed apps before, so now I reverse uninstalled all apps that I recently installed, and it is still doing the same thing! Is there some way/some app for me to tell what is causing it to turn on and shut down apps over and over? I really like Greenify, and I know it's not taking a lot of juice to turn on and do the close thing, but it is irritating every time I hear it turn on, make the popping sound to close apps, and shuts off again. PLEASE HELP!!!
Thanks,
First check that exposed is fine and clear. If is all cool, than it's greenify beta version. Probably.
Hi, I'm not running Xposed Framework, just the "Automated hibernation". I have Lollipop version 5 on my phone.

If you are unrooted, that is the normal behaviour when an app you chose for hibernation, wakes up the device. With root, the screen will not light up but still the other actions will go on.
Earlier in non-root mode, the screen would light up bright. After people complained, the Dev has dimmed the screen. I don't think it is possible to hibernate without lighting up the screen.
You can disable the sounds so that it doesn't irritate you much.

Thanks for the thorough answer. And yes, I am not rooted. The odd part to me though is that it wasn't happening until about a week ago, and then it started. I've tried to retrace all my steps to see what I've installed since then, changed, etc. but reversing all these activities still does not cause it to stop starting up like it is doing now. Do you know of any app or some way I could see what is causing it to wake up so that Grennify needs to keep shutting it down? I would really appreciate it!

Have you hibernated any system app (I think not, without root)? If so, a background update might have changed its behaviour.
If you can, backup all third party apps and then uninstall them and see whether your problem is solved. If not, it is a system app which causes it. See for which system apps you can roll back the update and then roll them back one by one and check.
I have no idea about any app which shows you what is waking up the device at any particular point.

This is happening to me also after installing latest beta 3 update. It is accompanied by 2 toast messages saying greenify has been granted root, and a long list of all apps that were put into hibernation. Seems to only happen when phone is plugged in to USB or outlet.
I am rooted running lite rom and cataclysm mod. I do not have xposed installed.
I uninstalled beta version, opted out and reinstalled standard release and it hasn't happened since.
Don't update the greenify.

i've noticed this as well.
seems that greenify is disconnecting power as well when this occurs

What do you mean by that? Does your phone shut down or the charging stop?

I have also expressed this concern on other thread. I downgraded to beta 1 and the issue didn't reoccur again.

Figured out what was causing mine to continue to turn on over and over. It was Google Fit. I uninstalled apps that I have installed recently (I keep a list of every app I install), and once Google Fit was removed, the Greenify turning on the phone and shutting it down stopped! FYI for others with this problem.
Thanks,
Dave

i don't have google fit installed and i was having the issue.
i downgraded to 2.7 (non beta) and greenify works correctly.
-i still have trouble with random reboots when all xposed features are enabled. haven't taken the time to narrow down which feature is causing this
I don't see HOW to turn sounds off, the popping IS annoying.
I have an unrooted S3 Galaxy Thanks!

I have a similar problem. When Greenify locks the screen on my LG G4 I cannot open screen with a double tap, like I was able to in the past, I have to push the power button to be able to use my phone. I have Android 6.0, Greenify 4.1, non-rooted. Tried disabling Auto hibernation for manual, same problem. Have donation package (But can't find icon) . Love Greenify, used to work great but have to fix this problem. Please help.

Night clock freeze and dont show real time after 2 hours
When i wake up screen it show again correct hour
Is there a solution for that
I am on 6.0.1 full stock
No one can help?
At last someone with the same problem as me. Have you solved this yet?
Don't use Night Clock but I think the root cause must be the new Doze feature on Marshmallow, remember that it closes everything after some hours to save battery. So if you can find what is the name of the apk package related to the Night Clock feature, you can go to Battery settings, and then click on the 3-Dots menu on the top right hand corner and then disable optimization on that apk package, I have a feeling it might be "Edge Screen" try disabling Doze on it first.

no not solved until now
Same here, clock not showing up afther one our
who solved it ?
Not me. It can't be doze related because doze doesn't work while charging... does it?
Night clock freeze
I had the same problem with my galaxy s6 edge. I solved it by uninstalling the update that had occurred with edge screen. Go to application manager then more then show system apps then edge screen then uninstall update. It asks if you want it to uninstall the update and return to the factory state. Once uninstalled it says that cocktailbar service has been uninstalled. The freezing no longer happens. I do remember an update message telling me cocktail bar service had been updated quite a while ago but I thought nothing of it.

Hi Mark,
I thought I had solved this problem but it appears I haven't.
The only way I can stop the night clock turning off "freezing" during the night is by disabling access to the internet by putting into flight mode or not having WiFi such as when I'm away from home.
The freezing usually occurs between 2am to 4am depending on what time I put the phone down for the night by my bedside.
It is almost as if something interupts it by checking for updates or something like that.
Do you have a solution yet?
So far no software updates seem to have solved it.
Kind Regards

I turned sync off the other night and it was fine all night. Tried it again a second night and it froze again. Thought I had found a work around but sadly not. Reported several times to samsung but still no acknowledgement or fix.
I have a peculiar problem. Went for 2 runs with my stratos.
1st run - ended quite short a distance as it rained halfway through my run. Running activity auto stopped at 6min+ which I thought was weird but thought I might have set something wrong.
2nd run today. It stopped 3 times at 6min +, I had to resume the activity to get it to continue tracking.
I check run settings, nothing seemed to be amissed and all alerts were deactivated as well. Can anyone advise?
JJ
Disable auto-pause, you can pause manually using buttons.
The auto stop i encountered was while running, it wasn't due to stopping. My auto pause is for standstill such as traffic lights, etc, unless it is a bug with that auto pause.

I told you to disable it exactly because it may be due to a bug in the feature...
Oh i see. Will try in my next run. Thanks!
