Does anyone know of a IR remote app that will work on Lollipop for the G3? I see there is a ported version of the stock Quick Remote but it only works for CM 11 not CM12.

Smart remote worked on lollipop I had running on my HTC M7, it works with the G3 but I did not test it on lollipop G3, cost money on the playstore though... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.remotefairy
I have been looking but still haven't found anything yet.
Finally found a port of the LG Quick Remote that works on Lollipop. See the thread below. I have confirmed this is working on the latest PA 5.0 alpha.

Did you try this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/themes-apps/app-quickremote-port-aosp-t2929146
VS980 Dirty Unicorns LP v9.6
Works great! Thanks.

Greetings,
I just flashed a sense-based rom where the author removed the TV App with other "junk". I am enjoying this ROM but need the HTC TV app to control my TV... Does anyone have the apks I can install or know of a TV addon I can flash to get this functionality back without switching ROMs.
Thanks!
Here you go. Haven't actually used this to know if it works...
Goes in the system/privapps directory

I don't think it works on our devices, at least for me it doesn't show up in the play store and when i followed a link to the app on the store, it said app is not compatible with my device. I'm on stock RUU'd T-Mobile 4.4.2 ROM (with root).
That is odd. I'm on GPE 4.4.2 flashed from ATT and it works fine. If you are on stock sense wouldn't you already have the app?
I don't know if anyone faced this problem.
But on my Galaxy S3 i9300, the camera works super fine except on snapchat, only when recording. When I record, it only records to the quarter of the length, which means only 2 seconds.
I have tried Omega ROM which is based on stock 4.3 JB and it worked well. All the kitkat ROMs are based either AOSP or AOKP and I only had the problem with those, the stock touchwiz (4.3 JB) worked fine.
I am downloading the AOSB rom but it's based on CM11 which is based on AOSP I guess? But, I hope it fixes the problem..
If anyone knows any KitKat stock ROMs for Galaxy s3, please list them and I hope they're great.
Thanks in advance :]

Had a dream about this... Try going to camera app and go to video setting, in the recording setting change the video to a lower one. Then go to Snapchat and see if that works. Mine was at 1080p and when I changed it to 720p it started working amazing. Try setting it lower if that doesn't work for you. Mine was only recording for 1 second and would stop, after this I can record the full length allowed now. Let us know if this works for you!!

Hi
does anyone knows if the Z2 Tablet IR emitter is working or how to make it work?
Currently I wasn't able to find any IR App which is working on CM11.
Also I couldn't see any IR device in /dev...
I always thought IR is (quite) easy on linux and CM seems to support IR at all, so whats wrong?
Best,
mm

It works Today I used the "Remote Control" app which comes stock. It was able to control my Hitachi HDTV and even my WD TV Live streaming media player. It has to be pointed at the devices of course, but it works. (My model # is SGP561)
I don't know if any other apps can use it though. Haven't really playeed around with it much.

Hmmm are you sure? My question was about IR on Cyanogenmod 11. I guess you are on stock ROM, right?
On stock ROM the Sony App is unbeatable in fact, but unfortunately it does not work on any customrom.

Oh, I see. I think I missed that. So are you missing the APK file, or are you missing the folder?
If it's the APK file: is there any way to extract a stock rom as an APK file? If so, I wouldn't mind extracting a copy for you so you can see if it works, but I only know how to extract APK files from the Play Store.
Otherwise, what if you tried just copying the missing folder over from a stock ROM?
Or maybe it's something that was lost with the DRM keys?
Oh, it's not the problem of an missing apk. I've backups of them, of course, but they would not work on custom roms. Since I like the freedom of CM more than the functionally of the stock Z2 Rom I use CM on all of my devices. But I'm always in hope that someone has a hint or even a solution on this issue of the Z2 tablet Android and CM has an IR API so it's a missing driver and Sony just released the kernel sources of the Zz2 so there is hope that someone has an idea...
Yeah, the only reason I'm not going for a custom rom is because the loss of DRM keys result in the loss of core functionality. I really hope that someone manages to figure out how to take all of those official apps and put them into a custom firmware where the DRM keys don't matter anymore.
Any updates on this? I have the exact same issue, a Z2 tablet with CM11 and I can't find any apps to work with the IR
Well, the z2 is quite old right now. I don't even think about it, sorry. Take an recent Sony ROM, root it and bebhappy with what you have... Beleive me, after some years being very disappointed with a WinCE phone from Sony I bought the Z2. It is quite good but next time I'll buy a Nexus.

Have tried to go through the list of Lollipop ROMs for the S3 and have searched for FM Radio but seem to be either getting results that say that the ROM doesnt contain the native FM Radio app or that you need to install the Spirit FM app instead...
I am not interested in the Spirit FM app (hasnt worked well for me here in Aus), so does any one out there know any ROM that has the native FM Radio app?
cheers

I'm no dev but as I understand things, native FM Radio app for LP would only be possible in a samsung based LP rom. And last has not been possible yet (and probably never will be) because neither the int. S3 nor the Note2 has gotten / will get LP. So it's Spirit FM on non-sammy LP OR native on sammy KK for us.

I am on latest official nightly build (cm-13.0-20161021-NIGHTLY-kenzo.zip), I notice the cast function in the setting was not work, when I enable the wireless display, the cast device was found, when the phone try to connect to the cast device for a while, the cast device disappear suddenly and so the connection was not success. I also try to use WiFi Direct but still no luck.
I have been enable the "Wireless display certification" in the Developer Option, and also install the MirrorEnabler App for CM13 which is working for my LG G2 and Gpad 8.3 which are running CM13, but it's not work for Redmi Note 3.
So I want to know, is there any build of CM13 for Redmi Note 3 (snapdragon) with properly screen cast function? Thanks.
P.S. The screen cast function was work properly at MIUI.
Works for me with my Google Chromecast 2. I'm on 2016/09/23 nightly.

That means the casting device I am now using was not support for CM13 cast screen? It's namely "Anycast" and I think it's a low end product which only support 720p.
But the same device it's working with LG G2 & Gpad 8.3 with CM13 Build ...........
Using resurrection 5.7.4 and it works perfectly with the Google Chromecast
