So its like 2 am and I should be sleeping, or studying for the math exam tomorrow, but here I am messing around with my amazing HAM2. I'll cut the story short, discovered how to enable lockscreen widgets in the matter in which most discoveries are made -- by accident.
Apologizes if this has already been discovered and posted, if not, enhance your HAM2 that much more.
-MUST BE ROOTED
-Install "Root App Delete" (you can use another uninstaller, but I just found this one and it has a nice freeze feature (user apps only) and system app uninstaller / disabler
-Open up Root App Delete (or your preferred alternative)
--Click "System Apps" Icon
---Select Junior (this will disable the app, not uninstall it. Unless you like to live dangerously)
-Scroll to the bottom-ish of the list, "Unknown, No Advice" section
-Find "Huawei Unlock"
-Click it and Press "Disable"
-Go to settings -> security and under Screen lock choose "Slide"
-Enjoy :good:

Thank you so much!! I've been wanting to disable the default lockscreen as I hate it, but I haven't had the time to figure out how to.
Can't not have my PIN lock, but nice find nevertheless!
If you're not rooted, you can simply install the "Balance" theme on your device and you'll have a pretty much stock lock screen with an option for lock screen widgets and you can swipe to the right to open the camera as well

I did this and used Junior. But there is no way that I can Enable Huawei Unlock again since it disappeared from the list. Also, when closed there was a Clock and Weather screen on the HAM2 which were disabled. Just a heads up to who ever wanted to try this. I thought I could disable and enable Huawei Unlock, but it seems that even with Junior mode, Huawei Unlock was deleted from my apps.

No in junior you couldn't have deleted the app. Its still there. Go back to the junior mode, look at the bottom, above the navigation bar/bottom of screen , there should be two boxes (blue) that say enabled and disabled. Click disabled andit should be there. Click it while you're in disabled section and the app will be enabled.

You need to turn on developer option. You can then turn off screen lock there. Go to system, about phone then hit "build number" a few time to turn on developer option.
i did (I have the same phone) and now i am developer. Still no NONE option for unlocking (there is a NONE option for password).
In unlock options there is only slide to unlock and i can't disable that. (︺︹︺)

You need to go to developer then you should see an option for Screen lock to turn it off.
I too have now enabled developer, and do not see any new option to disable the swipe-to-unlock?

Okay I think I had a different problem from the original guy. I did developer and found that option, but it was grayed-out. Then it came back (perhaps when I completed that system update?) and I turned it off. I had screen lock turned to none as I had from the beginning, but there was still something called "Victory" with "magazine unlock" that I couldn't deselect, which made me still have to swipe to unlock the phone.
Now I've just done all the steps over again to check before I posted again, and it has worked.
I swear swear swear it didn't before and I'm not crazy! Tried it like 3 times! D:
Well so, I'm fixed. Dunno about that other fellow.
(Though really wish we could still have the option to unlock with fingerprint without having to set all the security, just for sometimes quick access. And why the hell can't I use my fingerprint to unlock my bank app without having to have my device lock? It's two different things, let me have them! "Oh no you can't use your finger to unlock this app unless you use it for the whole device!" Why! Let me do what I want! Last phone wouldn't either, lame.)
Now can anyone solve the problem that the device uses ONE notification sound for everything, and that my damn email app can't override so I get different sounds for each account! May start a new thread I dunno...
Thanks for the help though with the swipe guys! ^×^
Well, i came across this option as i play with the recent apps. I already know how to use "Pin this App" as its been there from previous version. But this "Lock This App" looks new. I tried everything there is to try from locking and unlocking an apps, nothings happened. Really wish Samsung include the Mask & Lock App again as it uses fingerprint to lock individual apps without using the comolex Secure Folder.
Anyone knows how to use the option?

well, initially thats my idea about it. Then i tried everything there is to try including locking an app, then clear recent apps. it cleared the app. lock app doesn't do anything. or its just a bug on my device i suppose. thanks btw.
you get it wrong. lock apps will not get removed from the recent menu (and not removed from memory) when you hit close all!
that's all!
it is not a security feature.
Doesn't prevent swiping
I like the fact that it prevents the app from being closed with the close all button and even prevents the close all button from appearing all together. The issue I'm having is I swipe the apps to close them and "Lock this app" doesnt prevent that. Is this a glitch on my end or is this no longer possible? That's what I liked about the pin app feature in previous version, as I use several apps at once, like music apps in the background while working on projects, etc. So if I swipe 1 or 2 apps away, sometimes I go so fast I swipe the music away instead and stops my momentum. The recent apps section helps unless I use more than 4 apps.

I have the s9 and also locking apps in recent menu doesn't prevent swiping them away.
I miss this option from all my older phones.
Specially when the screen is so big and power button is placed higher, this should have been a must feature.

The problem is probably Android 11/12, it works with 10.
Make sure it has needed permissions in accessibility.
Not sure how that's set up on your phone, this is a Samsung:

No issues with the permissions. I granted them all. I guess Android 12 doesn't allow it.

12 is known to be a pain. Many have rolled back to 11. You can try Playstore to see if an updated version is available that would work. Scoped storage is a mess.
One of the reasons I bought a second new N10+ a few months ago was to avoid being forced to use Android 11/12.
Also a factor was Samsung's newest flagships suck.
Even it's under Lenovo, Moto phones don't support double tap to wake like Lenovo tablets do.
Tap and swipe is only workaround (you can enable peek display)
Using this app currently fir double tap to sleep. Works mostly. Sometimes it fails
I honestly don't understand how Moto can get rid of such a basic feature and replace it with an inferior 'peek display' option that doesn't even let you disable motion sensing, thereby making the phone light up at the slightest of movements. I was hoping that Moto Edge 30 Pro would have an option to address this but it doesn't seem to be the case.
In the meanwhile, here's an app that will at least light up your phone when there are new notifications without peek display enabled: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_IN&gl=US
Instead of double tap, you can enable tap to wake up with single tap in moto gestures.

Is there any way to prevent accidental touch turn ons using that?
Even double tapp occasionally triggers them...
Open moto app. Go to display settings and turn off peek display
use this app
Double Tap Screen On and Off - - Apps on Google Play
Double Tap Screen On and Off for double tap screen lock & On, Shake Screen Lock

Hey folks,
tl;dr: OOS 12 removed long press Home to lock device. Apps to replace Assistant function to allow it again disable fingerprint to unlock device.
I did some research on the long press feature of the Home Button (Assistant Button), becauase I wondered that this feature has been removed with Oxygen OS 12. Since I am trying to avoid wear to the physical buttons, I'm searching for an alternative.
Luckily there are apps that replace the Assistant feature to allow custom actions, including locking the device. I tested the following apps:
Lock Screen (F-Droid)
Assistant Gesture Tweaks (Paid)
All of them disable the fingerprint feature on the lock screen. I already tried to disable PIN, password and delete all of my fingerprints as recommended on OP forums, but still I can't use the fingerprint to unlock the device. If I remove the device administration privilege, it's possible again, but I can't lock the device using the Home Button.
Do you have recommendations?
Root, install Magisk, install LSPosed, install GravityBox. All customs settings at your disposal.
Wait so basically you are looking for a feature to lock the device without pressing the lock button?
Settings > Home screen and lock screen > Enable double tap to lock
This let's you double tap a blank area on the home screen to lock device.
You can also check the lock screen shortcuts in the same settings page too.

Thanks for your reply, but exactly this feature has been removed with OOS 12. There are multiple threads about it on the OP forums.
I took two Screenshots of the settings, one with OP Nord 2 running OOS 12 and OP Nord running OOS 11.

Hold to lock has been replaced by the "mass move icons" feature from ColorOS, and hence the feature has been changed to a double tap to lock feature and can be found as a toggle under Home screen and lock screen.
Holding on the home screen now allows you to mass select icons to bulk-move them, hence the hold to lock has been deprecated and replaced by double tap to lock.
Note you can even tap in between icons on the home screen to lock your device with this feature. These are pictures from OOS 12 depicting the replacement feature's location on OOS12
As your goal is to avoid wear and tear of the physical buttons this should be an adequate solution, no?
Thanks a lot for your description, @Zombnombs! First of all: sorry, I've mistaken the software version - I'm currently on OOS 11, even on my Nord 2. I just searched for the issue and found posts online concerning OOS 12.
Indeed, double tap to lock is a functional alternative. I even use double tap to wake already. But what I'm curious about is, that my settings look very different from your screenshots. I uploaded a short video of it here. I'm on V11.3 right now.
But I tried to check the Launcher settings by holding the home screen background and select "Home settings". There I found the toggle for double tap to lock!
Thanks again for your help.
Just noticed the new an updated app for smart view now has a password to ask the hidden settings:
Works on all older versions of the app on S22ultra and older, but for some reason there's a password just to access the hidden settings.
Anyone know how I can get around this, either downgrade my smart view app or find the password for it.
For example the password for the older version of advanced controls used to be #00sv00 on my S22ultra or S21 or S10
Any help is appreciated
