Mate 10 pro is the first android phone which has NO option "None" in unlocking screen - I like to have No security and whenever hit the power button to go directly to my "desktop".
Is there No Root way to do this here?

You need to turn on developer option. You can then turn off screen lock there. Go to system, about phone then hit "build number" a few time to turn on developer option.
i did (I have the same phone) and now i am developer. Still no NONE option for unlocking (there is a NONE option for password).
In unlock options there is only slide to unlock and i can't disable that. (︺︹︺)

You need to go to developer then you should see an option for Screen lock to turn it off.
I too have now enabled developer, and do not see any new option to disable the swipe-to-unlock?

Okay I think I had a different problem from the original guy. I did developer and found that option, but it was grayed-out. Then it came back (perhaps when I completed that system update?) and I turned it off. I had screen lock turned to none as I had from the beginning, but there was still something called "Victory" with "magazine unlock" that I couldn't deselect, which made me still have to swipe to unlock the phone.
Now I've just done all the steps over again to check before I posted again, and it has worked.
I swear swear swear it didn't before and I'm not crazy! Tried it like 3 times! D:
Well so, I'm fixed. Dunno about that other fellow.
(Though really wish we could still have the option to unlock with fingerprint without having to set all the security, just for sometimes quick access. And why the hell can't I use my fingerprint to unlock my bank app without having to have my device lock? It's two different things, let me have them! "Oh no you can't use your finger to unlock this app unless you use it for the whole device!" Why! Let me do what I want! Last phone wouldn't either, lame.)
Now can anyone solve the problem that the device uses ONE notification sound for everything, and that my damn email app can't override so I get different sounds for each account! May start a new thread I dunno...
Thanks for the help though with the swipe guys! ^×^

Hate to say it but you might need to boot into recovery and wipe data if a reboot didn't fix it.

This is so frustrating....but thanks for the note.
I don't even know how this should be possible.
How'd it get stuck in landscape mode in the lock screen?
Edit: editing this post because I found the option he must have checked to get this problem to occur. Its here. Horizontal lock screen option.

I thought I would add to this in case someone actually searches for this problem. I was just scrolling through the forums. Anyway, have someone call your phone. In-call, hit home key and you can get to whatever you need to to change settings (and they can hang up). If no one is available for this... kill yourself.. you have no friends... Just kidding.

Is this a real thing? Seems like a massive security hole if that is actually capable of being done on AOKP. What's the point of having security on the lock screen if it can be bypassed when in-call?
One more reason to stick with Samsung TW roms. On Semiv17, with lock screen security enabled, the home/back/search buttons are locked out if you answered a call from a locked state.

I'm sure it's the same. That wouldn't make sense

I love knock on, and it works great for me. But some people apparently have a problem with the phone turning on in their pocket. The Sprint ZV6 update supposedly has some changes included to address this problem, but how effective it will be is anyone's guess. I was recently involved in a discussion elsewhere as to whether it would be possible to use Tasker to prevent knock-on from working in your pocket, but I don't think it is.
I did discover another approach, though, that will work. Verified on the LS990 with BarRin v2, but it should work on any rooted G3 with a stock-based kernel. ( IF you have an AT&T or T-Mobile version, you can probably find this setting in HiddenMenu without using the Shortcut Master app, by entering the dialer codes as in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/mod-root-rid-lag-g3-t2819365)
Note that this will turn off both knock on and knock OFF. If you still want to use knock off, you'll need to use one of the many screen off apps in the play store, in combination with an alternate launcher like Nova or Apex.
1. Download and install Shortcut Master: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.shortcutmaster.lite
2. Open the app and select Search from the menu. Enter hiddenmenu in the search field, and press search.

}
3. Scroll down and find the row for com.lge.hiddenmenu.settings.LgSrvKnockonSetting
4. Tap that row, and then tap on "Launch"
5. Change the toggle from On to Off, then back out of Shortcut Master.
You can repeat the steps to turn it back on.
Been using this since day one. Worse idea I've ever heard of, having this enabled. I'm sure other will appreciate this too.
Thanks.
also for verizon, search knock and you should find it for verizon users
Same, I disabled this right away back in Sept using the exact method posted. But awesome tutorial, pics and all. Good work!

Marginally, yes but barely noticeable. Unless it was constantly going off in your pocket, thats a big battery waster, lol.
Hi, got HAM2. Very impressed. Wish it had Qi, but aside really good.
Q: How do I turn off power button instant lock?
Android always has this option, but for some reason I can't find it in settings!
In my MT2-L05 EMUI3.0 it's in Settings/Security/Power button instantly locks.
Settings > Security

Ya... and I'm having a hard time finding a module. any help would be appreciated
My HAM2 doesn't have this problem. I have the Delayed Lock app from the play store which modifies the locking though. I've also frozen the hwunlock lock screen since it was interfering.

Happy to hear. Also if you want to clean up the notification, the Delayed Lock app can still run if you hide it's notification (long press on it then uncheck show notifications), it still works fine and the Notification bar is clean. Mine is set to auto lock after about 20 mins from when I turn off my screen and I also created a shortcut on my home screen to instantly lock it and turn off the screen (have to set wake to lock mode in the settings of the app). If you want to a shortcut like that you can do this in Nova Launcher (or something similar in other launchers). Long press and empty space on the homescreen. Choose shortcuts then delayed lock shortcuts then Lock now (which also turns off the screen).
HAM(2) on Bro!
I would like to know if there is a way to force user authentication (password, or fingerprint, etc) by pressing a button.
What i mean is that on a blackberry you can press the 'K' key to lock the screen and force the user to have to put in the password to unlock the phone. With Android it seems like the only option is to set it to lock immediately b/c if it is set to anything other than that, hitting the power button will just turn off the screen but not Lock it until that setting reaches the time you set for the lock to occur.
I assume it is not built in and i will need to download an app.
Thanks
Uhh.. Set it to lock immediately?

That is not what I'm asking! I would like the ability to keep the screen off without it locking right away but have the ability to lock with the power button. There are apps out there but it does not appear there is an option to do this natively.
Oh... But why, I'm curious.
Very simple, i don't want to have to keep scanning my fingerprint when my phone is being charged on wireless charger after the screen times out. It is very convenient to lock the phone with a simple press of a button like blackberry. If you treat it like a business phone you will understand, but I'm coming from a blackberry so it is a very useful feature for me.

Enable the developer options by mashing the build number field in about device, then in dev options check the box to keep screen awake while charging.

That is not the issue. Plus why would I want the screen on all the time. The problem is that the feature exists. However for what ever reason ATT disabled the option and lumped it together with turn off screen immediately. If i can figure out which CSC will turn this on it would be great but I don't know if it is a CSC option

I gave you a solution based on what you said you wanted: " i don't want to have to keep scanning my fingerprint when my phone is being charged on wireless charger after the screen times out."
Im sorry if its not exactly what you were looking for, but it IS a solution.
I think the two things you want are mutually exclusive. The only way to have what you need is use smart unlock. Otherwise, the phone either locks or it doesn't.

I never stated I want the screen on all the time. I simply want the option to lock at will using the power button. I appreciate the suggestion but it is not what I asked for and I'm familiar with the development options.
Still would be nice if there is a way to turn this on via a CSC option. still digging

Not exactly, this feature exists, however it is disabled on ATT phones. Looking for a way to enable this via CSC but it may not be possible.

I just switched from Mi Max3 to black shark 3 pro.
For Mi Max 3, when I got notification while the screen was turned off. I got the information of that notification right away as in the picture. It's very convenient. Just glance at the screen and get information.
But for BS 3pro, when I got notification while the screen was turned off. It just make a sound and show only the black screen with fingerprint icon as I called "first lock screen".
I have to press power button or unlock it first to see information which is not convenient at all when compare to Mi Max3.
Is there any way to remove first lock screen? Please help.
And you can turn on raise to wake.

Already got used to the lazy way with mi max3.
how about always on screen. you can set it to recognise your face with face unlock and show your notifications or bring you straight to the home screen.
