[Q] Issues connecting ADB - LG G Watch

When I tried connecting my G Watch over ADB , the device status is shown to be Offline. I have already enabled USB debugging as well as Bluetooth debugging. I am not getting the RSA notification either.
I have updated Google USB drivers as well.
Did anyone else have these issues or does anyone have any idea about getting the ADB connection going?

Assuming you are using windows, check device manager and make sure that the LG watch is labeled: Android Device->Android Composite ADB interface.
Then the RSA notification should come up on your phone to confirm (not on the watch).
Worked for me today and manually updated to lollipop.

Yeah, that is what I am trying, but the RSA notification is not coming up for some reason.

Did you try revoking the authorization from the developers settings on your watch and then trying again?

[Q] Can't connect to Moto Phone Portal when using USB

I can't connect the Atrix to the Moto Phone Portal using the USB. Just curious if there is a fix to this? Once the browser is launched (it doesn't matter which browser, IE, Firefox, Chrome) it doesn't connect. USB connection is set to 'Motorola Phone Portal' and Moto Phone Portal app says its 'running on on USB..."
Not sure what is going on- connects fine using Wi-Fi... just annoying that it won't connect with USB. Any help is appreciated?
Thanks,
M
are you on a mac? I think it requires the MotoHelper app on a pc - part of the PC drivers.
I had the same issue but I also couldn't connect via wifi. So... I turned off the debug under applications and then it worked fine. But haven't had time to try it with the usb but it may help.
I am on a PC and have the MotoHelper installed, but it still didn't work. Also I didn't see a debug under applications, haven't done any modifications to my phone (not sure if you need to modify to debug or not, but I couldn't find it).
Maybe its a driver issue with my dell...

Not a Dell issue. I have Dell running Win7 64bit and it works fine. Try to manually reinstall Motohelper. Also, under you Windows Start button you should have:
START>ALL PROGRAMS>MOTOROLA>Motorola Drivers>Motorola Driver Reinstaller.exe.
Run this CLEAN and REINSTALL and Selct START - see my attached. This will reinstall everything associated with the drivers and Motohelper. Reboot Phone and PC and then replug phone into PC and select USB with Motorola Portal.
Same Problem
I've tried all these things and mine keeps switching back to USb Mass Storage. If I switch it back to Motorola Phone Portal, it will give me the address for my browser and it will actually pull up the Portal on my computer but then the phone will switch back to USB storage and I can't go any further on the computer. I've rebooted the computer and the phone and nothing helps. Any help
I tried all those things as well, but still no luck. However, my phone stays on Moto Phone Portal as USB connection, but just won't connect/load the phone portal in the browser(s) when using the USB cable.

You should uninstall the Motorola Media Sync from the PC. I kinda like the software, but it does it's own thing to much with out giving me control. I have spoken to Motorola 2nd level support, but the were no help. They told me to ignore it or uninstall it. I uninstalled it. I left the Motorola drivers installed. If you reinstall the drivers it'll ask you to reinstall the Media Sync - say NO.
Once the Media Sync is gone, then the Portal will not auto load and you can have control of the USB settings from the taskbar.
I had a similar issues
....First, Moto Phone portal does not work on Chrome (insert IP address into IE or Firefox)
If you still have problems...
On phone, from home screen
select Apps drawer
select Phone Portal
select menu
select Settings
select Secure login
uncheck Enable login
did anyone come up with a fix for this? i have tried everything in this thread with no success.
USB Cable
I had this problem as well, just happened to have a few extra Micro USB Cables around. I found that the phone will work with some Cables and have problems with others. If you can try a different USB cable give it a shot.
It works just fine with Chrome.
The USB cable that came with my phone does not work.

ADB to TouchPad over USB?

Has anyone been able to access the TouchPad running CM7 with adb over USB? I can access my Nook Color so I know the right drivers are installed on my PC, but if I plug in my TouchPad and type "adb devices", it shows no devices.
I'm actually not interested in adb for itself, but I'm trying out iDisplay as a way of using the TouchPad as an additional monitor for my work PC, and it supports both USB and wifi for connecting the virtual display. At work we're not allowed to put our own laptops, tablets, etc., on the primary network, but there is a guest network. As a result, there's no wifi connectivity between my work machine and my tablet. However, I can definitely plug it into USB. Evidently iDisplay's support for USB uses the same communication channels as adb, so if you can't access the device via adb, iDisplay can't see it either.
Can anyone give me the magic incantation for this?
Thanks!
I forced the driver(Android Composite ADB Interface) to install for hardware id USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C02&REV_0227&MI_01
that's for the 16GB Touchpad the 32GB should have a similar id.
If you continue having problems you'll want to mention what OS you are using and any other pertinent details...

[Q] Simulating USB over Wifi or ADB over Wifi (unrooted)

Hello there,
I am trying to root an HTC Desire HD but the common problem of the USB not working kicked in. I figured as you can run Wifi / 3G connections via USB, why not the other way round? Is there any possibility to do this? Just to make sure nobody misses that point: No root requiring apps! Or ADB over Wifi without requiring root would work too but for what I know that's impossible.
Thanks,
Cyrus
It's no longer impossible!
As of about Android 11 and up, adb works over wi-fi (without USB) on non-rooted Android phones via Developer options Wireless debugging switches.

Unable to recognize device USB.

I have tried to connect with the device through USB with fastboot, adb, and just through Windows. It does not show up in the Device Manager at all.
Is this a hardware issue with the device? Seems odd as it was working fine and now it isn't and it has only been sitting on my desk as this isn't my main phone.
By the way I have tried this on 2 different Windows 8.1 computers and one Windows 7 PC.
Try removing all drivers for the phone and reinstalling them and see if it works. Also are there any other phone drivers installed for a different device you may have recently installed? They may be conflicting.

It should still show up in Device Manager regardless of drivers though. Just tested on a computer that has never had a single phone plugged into it and Device Manager still does not detect and devices.
Windows 8.1 has driver issues for the DNA. Though it should have worked fine in Windows 7. But I believe for a device to show up the drivers need to be installed.

try a different cable
The device should still show up without drivers as an unknown device. You can't really mess with the drivers for the device until it shows up. Also on a Windows 7 computer that has never been used before the computer should automatically pickup the device so you can transfer files to/from through Windows Explorer.
I have tried a different cable.
I am starting to think it's a hardware issue with the device itself.
what happens when you connect an OTG cable and a flash drive? Does the activity light on the drive activate?
I have not tried that and I do not believe I have an micro OTG cable. I will have to check when I am back at my place later.
Try installing HTC sync and update it and see if that installs ur correct drivers

Appreciate the replies. It should still detect a device plugged in without drivers/HTC Sync, but I have tried installing HTC Sync and all that anyhow. The PC's can detect other Android devices just fine(HTC One M8 & EVO 4G).

If you KNOW the cable is "good", the port may not be "GOOD". Does the cable work with another device?
The cable is definitely good(tried multiple and they work with other devices). I have been thinking it's the port in the device from the beginning, but was hoping maybe there was something else going on.

Wait a sec... There is no way to connect the watch to a computer for debugging?

Hey fellow q-founder-owners,
am I right that there is no way to connect the watch to a PC for using ADB etc.?
I tried it with the charging dock and my PC didn't recognize it as a device. Of course there is the option for adb-debugging in the developer options,
but that doesn't change anything.
Also: How can I get into the fastboot section during booting up?
This watch tends so suck more and more....
I am not sure but to use adb you have to activate developer option on your phone and watch and setup an adb session over Bluetooth. http://developer.android.com/training/wearables/apps/bt-debugging.html
is there any news about connecting?
i still trying this too, but get no connection to my mac or windows pc -.-
Just like with other Android wear watches a USB connection requires a special cable that interfaces with the main board. Very few Android wear watches have traditional USB connectivity...
As for ADB it can be set up via Bluetooth and the Android wear app.
Thank you for this!

I normally just lurk around and not comment on things, but today this was the answer I needed! So thank you for this. I have had a couple of WearOS smartwatches in the past that I would need ADB to give permissions to with Autowear and Tasker. Normally I would just USB connect them to my computer with the charger it came with and the computer can detect them to allow me to debug them with ADB, but I just recently got the Fossil Gen 5 and the charger it came with wasn't working. The computer couldn't detect the watch connected to it through the USB charger. Using these steps to debug through Bluetooth via the phone while the phone was connected via USB to the computer worked great. I'm commenting on this so hopefully, someone like me trying to do the same thing might find this thread/post from Google Search.
Keywords for Google to pick up on - Fossil Gen 5, Autowear, Tasker, ADB
