Chromecast - Sprint LG G3

About to get a chromecast Christmas from Santa, I think. I read we get screencast with it. Any heads-up or suggestions?

It's great....use it...alot lol. I've had one for a while now, and mostly use it to stream Netflix from my phone to the TV. Just make sure you have a good, stable wifi connection because it can act funny with the streaming when you dont. I've noticed that when I've used it at friends houses with ragedy wifi connections.

Sweet. I have a router for the living room. I'm thinking about getting one for the wait and letting Santa give me number 2. ?
They've released "guest mode", router free direct connect, for many devices.

a lot of official apps will cast natively, ie, netflix, youtube. i haven't tried the screencast yet on the G3. i am coming from a GNex.
localcast can cast pictures, stored movies, and videos from streaming sites (ie via sh0wb0x).

buy the ALLcast app it's awesome

[Q] streaming video

I've been trying to watch videos on local broadcast stations i.e cbs, fox etc since hulu is blocking us but it says something like unable to show video due to ad blocker. I've turned off ad blocker restarted tablet but no luck. Any help?
look for the thread that says something like Netflix Alternatives.
There is a patch in preware that fixes hulu support.

Forgot to mention, there's an app on the HP catalog called video flood hd, check that out if you don't want to keep going from site to site. It has most TV shows directly from their websites

Android market has movies you can rent or buy.
You can download crackle (I think that's how you spell it) from the market for free movies

I download a couple now gotta transfer them to photon. Btw which format do you use, vga or qvga? TIA
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
Yeah, I think the market strictly does rentals.
And it doesn't work on a rooted device. You have to view it from the browser which isn't a great experience.
I haven't tried Crackle since they changed business models - but it used to be horrible.
Old School..............................
Ultimate DVD Ripper and a 2Tb HD (Actually, I have 2 of them. One External and one internal). I used to move what I wanted to Photon, and watch off/on as I pleased.
Now with ZumoCast.................. I can party with my movies whereever I go!!
BTW: Don't try to watch home movies Streaming. Download and then watch! (4G might be faster, did not try)

Spotify drained 4GB of my Data?

I have been using spotify premium because I enjoy the service, but I just got a text from T-Mobile saying I've used 4.5GB of my 5GB allowance. I went into data management and saw that Spotify has downloaded 4.2 GB of music in the past week. I only have one playlist set to download, but its only 300 songs, no way is it 4.2 GB, plus I download all of my songs over WiFi before I get into my car? I stream music but only rarely. I have noticed that spotify continuously says its downloading my playlist but I didn't think anything of it. Any help on fixing this rogue app?

Go into Spotify, then settings and make sure Download over 2G/3G is set to OFF
Or if you're using an ICS/JB ROM, you can limit how much data an app uses in Settings-Data Usage.

It just seems weird that it would have that much downloaded, there isnt that much in the first place! I hate to turn off the mobile data options, because I never know when ill need it, but thatll have to work for now.

Maybe there's some setting to save your playlist to the device, and since download via mobile network was allowed, it would have downloaded a huge playlist(s) that you had. I suppose this was the case, or there might be an auto-caching option like in Google Play Music.

Yeah spotify allows you to download a playlist to your device, which I do at home when im on wifi. My playlist is 1gb at most, it baffles me how it drained 4gb, and on mobile data to boot.

Playstation mobile app opens Sony Web page saying coming soon.

Anyone else have this? It instantly loads the Web page without going into the app at all. I've tried clearing cache and data in the app, uninstall Ed updates and reupdated but no luck. Any help appreciated.

I've seen a lot of YouTube reviewers open that app, and when they did, the app opened and not the browser, so it's a mystery. Maybe Sony is overhauling it or something...?

Same thing here.
I had the app working for a bit about a week ago. I deleted the app because I found that every app on there was in the Google Play App Store. I'll try reloading it again and see if it works.
Maybe they are working on functionality that would allow the playing of PS4 games on Android? That would be so awesome!!! (but also not very likely)
its working now tho i cant see any PSX games anywhere

Sony has a new Playstation app. Not sure when it'll get released though, but i guess that's why the current PS app isn't working that well.
"Wrapping up the Tokyo Game Show keynote this evening, Sony introduced the PlayStation App, a mobile app for Android and iOS that brings device connectivity into the mix. With the app, users can take part in games on the go, as well as use a smartphone or such as a second screen, check out what friends are up to, and more. We’ve got a video of the demonstration after the jump."

Air browse stops working if it senses that you are posting about it.
But apart from that, glad to hear that you have it working now.
