Most likely cause is your ad blocker. Google sponsored links are via a server address that is blacklisted in /etc/hosts.

Anyone come across this particular runtime error? I'm having no issues using the kitchen and no errors anywhere else along the way, so it's got me stumped.

[Q] Youtube app

hello guys. i just installed JB 19.2 for sg2 but i have a minor problem. i can't join my youtube account. my google account is connected with it but it says it is not linked with youtube. i tried reinstalling but nothing. can some1 help me pls?
Have you ever linked your Google account and YouTube account on the YouTube website? If you log in to YouTube using a different username then this is required first. If you log in using your Google Account address then they will already be linked.

Try clearing youtube data and (or) sign out of the accounts and try signing in again!
Test your luck!

When entering Youtube app do you see an error at the bottom that only says "Error"?
With the newest version, I have that error. With older ones I'm all good. If yours is like that, I can provide an older youtube version for you to use.
Troubleshooting the error seems the problem is caused by failed authentication coming from Google Play Services. Tried messing around with GmsCore.apk, clearing data, deleting apk and so on but it's a no go. Few people seem to have issues on the web, but no solution so far. Seems to occur with modified gapps, but even with stock gapps I can't get it to work.

[Q] Device Manager Internal Server Error 500

I've been having an odd issue lately with Android Device Manager. From my main Google account I am getting "Internal Server Error 500" when going to the device manager website https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager. It happens from my computer and from all of my devices. If I sign into my other Google account, which I rarely use anymore the page loads just fine from the same devices. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue or has any resolution. It's very annoying.

Lot's of people are having the same issue. Mine started with my main account when trying several stock roms on a moto G LTE. Like 3 or 4 on the same day. After that something went wrong and now I'm getting the same error with my main account (other accounts work as intended). Also on the google dashboard the "android" sections has the "warning triangle" error. I cannot install apps from web google play store to my phone but can install them from the google play app. It seems that the "web link" to the phone is no working. Dunno how to fix it, but at this point i think that there is nothing we can do from our side.

I encountered the same thing, so I use firefox as my main browser. There are add-ons like adblockplus and clean quit.
I've also heard good things about javelin.

For android or the computer?
Android. Its not as friendly with google websites since its not based off webkit, but I make it work. Its also not as nice looking, but it functions more like a desktop browser to me.
I have the stock browser as my backup, and flashify for when I want to switch between browsers.
I run stock (TW browser), firefox, Puffin, and Link bubble.
Just download adaway and walk away. Blocks all ads at the host level of your phone. I haven't see any in app ads or browser ads in years.
Yeah I downloaded it it seems to be working thank you guys
Adaway is the best, does what it supposed to do exactly and more.
I dislike adaway because it disables redirects. and certain websites use them... I know you can whitelist redirect links, but it needs to be updated everytime you find a new one. so.. yeah

[Q] Youtube connection lost error

Hello,
I have had a problem with Youtube saying "Connection to server lost." I have found other sites (including this one) explaining a lot of fixes and workarounds, but nothing is working. It's not just over WiFi that the problem exists as I can be on the mobile network and it will still give the error. I have gone so far as uninstalling the updates, and it will work with what came with the phone, but once it updates it no longer works. I don't have any apps that would create a proxy such as Adblock, so I know it's not a redirect problem either. Anyone having similar issues with their Padfone X, or even know of some sort of weird trick that maybe I am missing?

I am also having the same problem
After uninstalling the updates, have you tried disabling Youtube's auto-update option in Playstore?

I guess I could do that, but it is just a bandaid to a problem. I am sure there is a reason the updates don't work, or a solution could be found. If anyone was to know, I was hoping it could be shared so everyone can know what's going on.
Common problem. The only solution, despite many threads about changing your DNS server and other solutions, is to uninstall all the updates and turn off auto-update.
If you're like me and hit Update All for the 384,763 apps that need updates every so often, use the Detach from Market option in Titanium Backup to take it off the list temporarily. Note that it doesn't stay detached from the Market for more than a brief while.
I'm having the same issue with my padfone x.
So like same prob here but it wont even work with old youtube.

I rooted my Asus Padfone X and uninstalled youtube to download a cracked version so I could download vids the crack didnt work so I found one online that worked. After a while it auto updated so i tried the update wouldnt work. Then uninstalled and installed old again. Two months later it auto update new update worked for 4 hours now nothing will work not even 2.5.1
Uninstall all updates to the app. The stock app should work fine. I had to take it back to the base with no update and leave it there for months, then a recent update made it work again for me.

none of that fixed mine. Even the stock app. mine is running kitkat 4.4.2. I ended up downloading a youtube player from the amazon app store. The only functionality i lost is chromecast support and remote player control. I can live with that. Note that i tried vtube and that one had the same connection problem.
Same here. Nothing worked for me so I deleted the app. YouTube via the browser works as it should.
