Hello,
I bought the phone Huawei C8650 from the USA, but it seems that it requires a UIM card instead of a SIM card. Is there a way of running the phone with a normal SIM card? I was thinking of installing a different Android version on it, because it is running android 2.3.3. Any suggestions what to do?
I am using this right now. UIM is the card for CDMA (a counterpart of GSM), so sorry but there is no way to use SIM card on it. It's like you cannot install IOS apps onto android cellphones.
PS: I think in the US people use OTA. There is no need for UIM if you are a customer of a CDMA network like Verizon.
i am facing a very strange sim card issue.
i am using a demo sim card.. ( a demo sim card is a special sim card that is used to refill the prepaid account of a particular carrier... --this is with respect to india)
The issue is --- i used to refill the prepaid accounts of many people using my sim card.. this was running successfully on sammy's unrooted GingerBread firmware..
but recently i rooted my phone & upgraded to Bezke's Milestone 4 ICS ROM...
Since then i am not able to use that service.. (i.e. i am not able to refill any account)..
has anyone else faced similar issue.... or can any one suggest me a solution..
please help me..
Don't know about demo SIM cards..
But did the phone had a valid IMEI number before you rooted? Has it changed after rooting? If yes.. then search for lost IMEI thread...
If it hasn't and you don't find a solution, try flashing back a stock ROM.. and then see if the SIM card works..
I also guess you can still use the SIM on other cheap feature phone.. Don't see a sense using it in SGS2... Just for topping!!
Gentlemen, I have a pretty strange problem when it comes to the SIM card in your phone. After installing the ROM - Dirty Unicorns - SIM card I fell as if burned. I checked on various Roma to no avail. None at all read the SIM card in the phone. But after installing the software orginalnego Samsung Sim card work jakgdyby nothing had happened. But as soon as I do root your phone card disappears again. I'm sorry for the mistakes I use Google Translate to communicate with you
Hi,
Believe me - I tried all the things I found searching the web - this is my last resort..
I have Jiayu S2 Advanced 2/32GB, It stopped detecting SIM cards after system update.
Original Adroid was in version 4.4.2,
After this happened I tried to change ROM with the ones available on needroom portal, as well as Jiayu website and Jiayu.es
Tried to upload ROM with SPflash and CWMRecovery - I went through different 4.4.2 version and 4.2.2 - everytime ROMs were working fine, but SIM cards are not detected.
At the same time I observed that all 4.4.2 Android version did not even notify about SIM cards missing - only 4.2.2 did it.
IMEI address is correct (the same for both SIM cards) - tried to overwrite it anyway with the same numbers - but still the same...
I'm not an expert, but I think radio file is included in ROM package when flashing with SPflash? If not - where can I get it and how to upload it to the phone? Any other ideas?
Attached screenshots from system set up and Mobileuncle Tools - on the SIM 1 I see some signal strength changing and Radio is ON, no matter if card is in or not - status of those doesn't change if I put SIM card in.
ONE MORE THING!! Just found out - when telephone starts up there's standard info 'Slot 1: No SIM card detected, Please check if SIM card is ready' and the same message for SIM2, but when I clear messages and then on working phone I take out SIM card from Slot 1 and put it back 1 second later I get the same message again 'Slot 1: No SIM card detected, Please check if SIM card is ready' - this make me believe that SIM actually is detected, but somehow not recognized! The same thing happens if I "play" with Slot 2. Please help!!
Did you manage to fix it? I am having trouble myself; The SIM cards are detected, but cannot connect to the network. The IMEI was blank after a couple of ROM flashes, but I have restored it. Still, no luck... Probably the efs folder or something like that is corrupted, but I have no backup.
Same issue in Jiayu S2
My honor 7 was bricked two weeks ago, i tried several ways to fix it and finally unbricked it with dc phoenix tool. it flashed an emui 2.0 which was never available to honor 7, then flash to B388 stable version(emui 4.0.3) for honor7. The MEID and serial number got lost, so i recoveryed them using hcu client.
now the problem is when i insert a china unicom/mobile sim card which use gsm 2g network, wcdma as 3g network, lte as 4g network, it can detect my sim card and use 2g network. everything seems fine. when i reboot, the sim slot it used will be set as 4g sim card slot, the sim card can be detected, but unable to enable it. reinsert the card back, the sim card cant be detected. but when i use another sim card slot, which is not set as 4g sim card slot, the sim can be enabled with 2g network, everything works fine. when i reboot it, the problem is the same.
now when i insert a china telecom sim card which use cdma as 2g, cdma2000 as 3g, lte as 4g, the card can be detected and setting it to 4g card slot is fine, evening rebooting it, it will still using 4g network. insert cdma card and gsm card, and set cdma card as 4g, everything working fine, both card can be used. but set gsm card as 4g, the sim cards wont be detected.
so now i can only use cdma card, but i don't have one. is there a way to fix it so gsm card can be used? is this baseband problem?
the phone has 2 iemi ids, they seems fine, i verified them on the web, and they are in correct form. but im not 100% sure they are the ids when i bought the phone. maybe flashing the firmware will change iemi just like it changed my meid and serial number? im not sure since i never record iemi numbers.
ps english is not my first language, so if i did not describe something clearly, please tell me.

It's the modem issue . Try to reflash the original firmware
Probably try to flash update.app with is easier like installing an app from sdcard
I tried to flash the latest full stock rom from sd\dload\update.app, that does not help.
Whats the error message?
