[Q] LGLS990 Root - Sprint LG G3

So i recently got the lg g3 and I cannot for the life of me get it to root. I tried the stump rout first but it said my phone updated already and so i tried the purple drake root and i downloaded all the nessisary files but when i got to the part where i had to press enter a couple times it would close the little window that was up and wouldnt root my phone. Can anyone help me with this issue please it would be greatly appreciated.

If your phone has already been updated to ZV6 then you will have to rollback to ZV4 in order to root. The Zv6 update covered the root stump used. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2852042 this should get you where you want to be and able to root.

[Q] Is there a root for software version vs98511c?? Help PLease

I just got this new G3 and i update now its 11c is there a root i would really like to root it please help
Could you always flash back to 10b and then root? I took the update a few days ago went back to 10b so my Foxfi works. Just hope I dont have to take the update later. This is what I did.

Yes, drop back to 10b, root, then figure out what you want to do. In my case I applied the modem, boot, and system files from 11c, but did not try to apply the ota directly.
I would flash back to 10b. Then root with Stump, Bump it so TWRP recovery will be accessible. Then download Beanstown 11c rom and flash it. You will then be on the latest version without worrying about ota updates breaking root.
Just wait for the developers to release the updates from here on or you will risk losing root and unlocked bootloader.
sadly, after getting a replacement phone, i am in this boat now as well.
loved what stump did for my old one, just need root access for ti and such.
Later on, no telling how much later yet, replacement phones will come with Lollipop preinstalled. At that point there might be no way to root and bump at all, because rolling back to v10b might be blocked.
Point is, if you need access to your phone as if you really owned it yourself, get it now and protect it best you can. Things are changing.

How did you roll back to 10b? With 11c you can't get the phone into download mode. I tried it and followed the instructions to the t and all I got was a battery charging screen. I'm not a noob.

You have to use the KDZ method. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/guide-flash-to-stock-10b-kdz-method-t2928140

Hey I accidentally took the update and thought I was outta luck. But I was able to downgrade back to stock then use Stump to root. Go here. Worked great for me.

Once y'all kdz back to 10b flash a 11c rom. There's 2 to choose from. Jasmine and beanstown. I got Jasmine running. Its a beast. I also recommend the sky kernel in the og dev section. Really helps with battery.

Correct me if I'm wrong... I thought stump auto installed TWRP? I'm new to Lg... came from an S4..... so I'm not very familiar with downgrading from 11c-10b but I'm slowly figuring it out through multiple forums.... I'm still not sure wth bumping TWRP is though.... I just want to get into CM12 eventually... lol
Edit: N/m I was thinking of BUMP..... damn YouTube videos making me confused at times...
Bump does not install on your phone itself or make any changes to your phone. Stuff like TWRP must be changed slightly by their developers to make them appear signed so they will load - bumpD does that. To the things you are flashing once rooted via Stump or ioRoot or PurpleDrake.
You don't use bumpD yourself, you flash images that have been bumpD.

Can't Update LG L70 After Root?

I successfully rooted my LG L70 with towelroot, but I have a problem now. I can't update the software on my phone from ms32310b to ms32310c. It downloads, reboots and appears to install and says system is up to date, but it's still at ms32310b and a couple days later says I need to download the update again. Will it not update because my phone is rooted now with towelroot? Does anyone know how I can maybe force the update so I can stop getting these update notifications? Thank you!
I seem to have this same problem but my phone is the ls740

I guess we have to use lg flash tool to manually flash the KDZ update file, but I'm not sure if updating will unroot the device since the new version in my case doesn't support root.
well on my phone i have CWM so i could probably find a zip to flash

This is absolutely correct. I rooted my LGMS323 with Towelroot (which worked beautifully I might add) but weeks later made the terrible oversight of approving an OTA update without thinking which nuked the root. I've been stuck ever since. Once you update to MS32310c there is NO EASY WAY of rooting your device (as of yet). The only way to reroot is to start over and downgrade from (c) back to (b) or (a) by flashing the KDZ as you mentioned. Because I'm without a machine at the moment and unable to do this I'm TRULY stuck. Don't be me! Stick with what you've got!

Thank you! I probably will. Unless of course they come out with a stable Lollipop rom, then I might be tempted to install Clockworkmod and check it out.

Zv6 ota still shows as rooted

So long story short. I got this phone 12/20. I stump rooted it, and noob move took the ota to zv6. Lost root as we all know. Thing is I opened root check by mistake the other day and it shows as rooted. Just to see I tried to install super su, but it says binary not installed. Any ideas? The lg og was the first phone I played with and had it rooted and unlocked right after getting it. Never took an ota on that phone. This g3 is a bit of a different animal then I'm used too.

I think, it's not really rooted. If you do want to root, you can follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-how-to-restore-sprint-lg-g3-ls990-t2852042
Sorry if this doesn't help answer your question.
Thanks. I've been thinking of trying the roll back to zv4. Unfortunately my wife went and bought an iMac and my PC is in the closet. I do have an old laptop lying around I might be able to try it on. Thanks.
I'm thinking its not rooted either because of zv6 breaking root. Thinking maybe its just a side effect of me taking the ota on a rooted device like I shouldn't have?
I read about trying to flash twrp with flashify just to see if it would take but scared to even try as I don't want to screw this phone up. I sold my og so I have no backup.

All you can do is flash back ZV4, use stump root to root again, flash recovery, then flash superuser. You can also flash the deodexed zv6.
Thanks. Kinda what I thought but figured it didn't hurt to ask.

LG G3 SuperSU Root Problem

just looking for help with my AT&T LG G3. So I got my G3 while it was still on KitKat, I rooted it with Stump Root. Everything was going alright. It was all good until the Lollipop OTA update came around. I updated my phone and noticed that SuperSU was giving me this message: "There is no SU binary installed, and Super SU cannot install it. This is a problem! If you just upgraded to Android 5.0, you need to manually re-root-consult the relevant forums for your device.!" Iv'e looked into complicated steps of manually re rooting my device, but I don't think those are the same situations I am in. Therefore, Can somebody please, either link me to a proper instruction on how to fix my problem, or reply with an answer.

Lg transpyre help

I'm new here and am having some trouble with my transpyre. I got it rooted with kingroot but now am confused as to what to do next. I've tried installing superuser to no prevail because I'm unable to update binary. Been looking into creating a back up off everything before I start tinkering around too much but no success there either. If anyone here can help walk me through this and other questions that will come up I will appreciate it very much since I can't find very much info about the transpyre after root anywhere, or getting the things to work.
Hope this is the right place to post this.
The good news is that LG transpyre can be rooted even on 5.1.1. Install latest kingroot.apk, wifi, run the app. Enable adb and run kingroot desktop. Root is obtained within few seconds. Do not flash e2nav twrp, it will give security error.
