The Lg g2 mini will get the lollipop update but you will probably wait a till next year for it to be released. But you can flash a cyanogenmod 12 rom so that you will get it earlier. The Gps is not really good on the lg g2 mini as I have experienced
It will most likely get 5.0.1. Which now has reported having a memory leak bug up to 1.3 GB. You can read it on other sites. Shame...

Hi homies as get out the new generation of our arnova i think that port ICS to our device isn't hard yet, isn't it?
They have the same hardware except 1gb instead of 512...
So in your opinion can we expect ics for arnova 10 g2?
perhaps because it is possible on on Arnova 9G2 !

Hmm...seems to work well
For how long can we wait do you think?

Someone is working on a port from a Spanish version of ICS for the Arnova 9 G2 over to the 10 G2, but I haven't heard tell that they've got it working yet.
i tried an ics rom for an other similar tablet, on arnova 10g2. it works well, except for touchscreen, wifi, physical key ecc... it only works thanks a mouse. if you google ics arnova 10 g2, you'll find something.
10g2
arnova has released the source code for some of the G2 range of tabs, 10g2 included
i would post a link to it but am unable atm.
it's hosted on the arnova website in the downloads section

For LG G2 Mini (D618 variant) it does not support USB on-the-go.

Thank you Zyper. I really appreciate your response. So that means, only the LTE version (qualcom snappdragon and nvidia tegra processor) supports it. Hmm seems great. Though GSM arena's review shows that it does not support it. Anyway, no need for me to have it rooted/bootload the g2 mini.
So can I use any type of USB otg cord?

Oh I see. Thank you for the information. So in short, USB OTG is not supported for any lg g2 mini versions.
I saw a post somewhere saying that you'll have to bootload the g2 mini to enable OTG support? Is this true?

I have some questions about the LG Optimus L9 II
is the battery removable?
is the 4GB storage enough? can i move apps to sd card?
does it support OTG?
is it likely to get Android L update or it's too old?
how is gaming performance? is it the same as other mid range devices like LG G2 mini, galaxy s4 mini or moto G?
is bootloader unlockable?
in general, how do you find your LG L9 II?
thx in advance for your time and replies

Yes, battery is removable.
Yes, 4gb is enough. You can't move apps to sd card after update to kitkat, but there is a fix for that. Look up in the forum.
Bootloader is not unlockable in kitkat (as i know and read on this forum), but you can downgrade it to JB (struggling with that at the moment...).
If I could change it to another phone, I would. But it is because of the messaging bug i have (and other people from Lithuania and Czech republic). Other than that - a great mid range smartphone.
Hi guys i have good news
Lg is going to update lg g2 ui to g3 ui in lollipop update
i've got some news for you as well... it's already been mentioned several times in g2 forums...
By "several" he means like 5 threads at least.
Lollipop 5.1.1 official update for LG G2 Mini
ww.androidorigin.com/lg-g2-mini-lollipop-update-android-5-1-1/
Not shure if this is legit but it would be nice to get new android and ui.
P.S. I deleated w in front because i can't post threads with link yet.Just add w.Sorry for bad english.
by the time it will be ready ... device will be 2 year old ... so i don't believe in that story

They wouldn't do that. They have to many new devices to sell, but not so good as LG g2-mini. There is few custom rom based on 5.1.1 but nfc and IR not working ;(
Finally switched to Cyanogenmod from Stock Rom, because I do not expect any more significant updates from LG.. With this switch I am now on Android Marshmallow, works like a charm on the G2 mini, even if the Cyanogenmod release is still in beta.

With 6.0 from LG you will get real, fully functional UX 4.0 so you'll can use LG device in 100% (IR remote controll, NFC and other producer functions.. etc), in CM it's imposibble and you don't know when they fix all bugs but of course CM is a good alternative and it's good that G2M has now official support but for me LG official firmware is the best Greetings
Ps I dont think so we will get 6.0 but maybe 5.1, it will be nice too. LG makes updater faster than other producers, G2M is now little bit old but still good phone.

Thats true, CM has some downsides like no NFC and IR support. But it has one important upside for me: Android Auto works far better. With LG stock rom, my mobile did not connect reliably with my car using Android Auto. After the switch to CM 13, Android Auto works perfectly.
I noticed too, has a much stronger GPS signal with CM13 , and i hate this stock rom large icons and not possible to hide status bar(a bunch of unnecessary google apps). My conclusion CM13 is better in every way, the only for camera I'm not sure.
