Hi guys
So my Gear S (Korean version) has no Navigator pre-installed and which could not be installed on the Gear S using the Apps Manager for some unexplained reasons. Samsung might have locked the Korean version on the Navigator (here) map. My question is, what altrenative GPS Map app you have to install on the Gear S. I just need a simple Map with GPS capability that can run on my Gear without the need for assitance from the Mobile Device (for example my Mobile Device is left in the pocket or even at home, while I am out with the Gear).
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hello!
European version only here and there from the current gear. For me, this was also a problem, I put an EU version of Odin and flash works perfectly with the MAPPS Here!

Thanks for your information. Could you instruct me on how to do that? Is rooting the Gear S required? What are the steps needed?
Thanks alot.

I rooted my S2 and youtube works just fine. So maybe we did something different. How did you root your phone? We need more information then just you blurting out that it does not work.
Try clearing cache for YouTube.

I had those steps (not 100% good Englisch, google translate)
-First turn your Galaxy S2 and start it in download mode (volume down + home + power button)
-You will get a warning screen, press volume up to continue.
Now connect your Galaxy S2 to your PC via a USB cable
Download now Odin and CF-Kernel and unpack them on your computer.
-Start now Odin. Bottom left you should see a yellow rectangle with a number. If not, then you need to install Samsung Kies download ones. After installation, Look at your phone back to your computer
-In Odin click now on PDA and select the file "CF-Root-v5.3-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ CWM5.tar" you have unpacked.
-Click on Start to begin.
Your phone will restart at the end of the process.
-After your phone reboots, you should check that the program is installed SuperSU.
(ps. Camara does also not work :crying: )

I have the same phone but mine is running android 4.0.4 can I ask you if your magnetic sensor is working? I mine is a yamaha530 but it doesn't give out data...
And please let me know if you find something, i've been searching high and low... I've even offered fastcardtech a free ftp server for all their Roms on talkingmobi.com if they can help us... Same as you I want to find out if we can use the "root many mtk65xx" here on Xda.. But I'm not really up to just testing and bricking it..
I received a reply from the phone supplier with a way to root th phone, I'll test it ASAP and post the results

So i managed to root my N9977 this is how:
Download this rar first: www.anniblue.com/xda/rootingn9977.rar
1. Enable usb debugging and connect the phone to your pc.(win xp/ wista/ 7/ 8)
2. Install Snappea and download the usb driver within Snappea, when the phone is recognized, pls turn Snapped off and click do not remember it
3. Go to pc task manager- process- kill wandoujia helper.
4. Extract MTK6577 One Key Root to your pc, and click one key root.bat, then press enter on your keyboard then on your phone there should pop up a restore screen choose restore My Data (No need to type the password). Then the phone will auto reboot twice.
Meanwhile do not touch anything on your phone or pc, or the phone will get bricked.
5. Check menu- if there is an “#” icon, if yes, it’s rooted, or do it again.
The one key root.bat is all in Chinese or some strange language but no need to do anything but click enter after you open it. Then after its installed you will get a Chinese superuser apk but just download superuser from play store and run a binary update in the new one and you'll be fine
Enjoy
I got this from the fascardtech tech support but I had to rewrite the guide as it seemed translated with Google from Chinese.

Does anyone out there has the original ROM for N9977 with Android 4.1.1?
I bricked my N9977 by rooting it with the N9776 root method... : (
This phone is a 1:1 replica of the Samsung Galaxy S4, it has Air gestures,Air View, Smart Stay.
The phone has the same specifications to the HDC Galaxy S4 Legend, the only difference is that Legend has 2 sensors whereas Spark has only one (it cant understand if the air motion is coming from left or right) also Legend has OGS, whereas Spark dosent.
Other than that they are basicly the same phone, I couldnt find any thread about this phone, nor could i find any custom ROM's.
I dont want to risk bricking it by trying to flash it with a Legend ROM, so I came here for help.
Has anyone had any success flashing it?
I will flash my Spark as soon as it arrives
I'll try Legend Rom and No.1 S6 Rom

Alright, please post here on how it went.
Tried to flash -fluffy- ROM, got a soft brick
I tried No.1 S6 rom and it did not boot. The LED blinks blue and the display turns on, but no logo... And after a while the phone turns off
Fortunately, I made a backup and restaured my phone successfuly
Actualy there is a rom for hdc galaxy spark on needrom.
but i've got no luck using that rom. Everything works fine except i can't make a phone call, texting, or connect to the internet, but maybe that rom works for you guys, you can give it a try

For your information: SPFlash Tools only works this way:
1) Turn the phone off
2) Take the battery out
3) Open SPFlashTools as administrator (right click -> run as administrator)
4) Click on "Scatter-Loading" and choose the Scatter File
5) Click on "Firmware -> Upgrade"
6) ONLY THEN, connect the phone, WITHOUT THE BATTERY, on the USB
7) Insert the battery
8) SPFlash Tools should start the upgrade process
YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THESE STEPS, NECESSARILY IN THIS ORDER, otherwise, it will not work, ok?

Thanks I swapped out ports and cables and got it to flash. None of the air features work sadly. I used the s4 spark from needrom. I did make a backup of the original so i can reload it back. When I did a factory reset on this phone it wiped the imei. There wasn't a sticker under the battery or anything in the box. FCT tells me they dont keep a record of the imei of the phones they sell so I'm screwed. Not sure what to do since in all my reading I have come to the conclusion that without a backup of the efs its gone. pisses me off its a sweet little phone for the price I paid.

For some reason Spark gets no love here. I am folowing a thread on a russian forum, a guy is working on a Rom right now. Il post if it comes out and if I flash it.
If you get a link for that rom just send it to me I will flash it and post results. Cant use the phone anyway currently so I'm not worried about bricking it since I have an s4 active as my primary.

I'm having trouble with my Samsung Galaxy Mega. It doesn't have any keyboard installed - the only input method installed is Google voice typing, and I can't use that because it only works when connected to the internet. And I can't connect to the internet because I can't enter a wifi password without a way to input text. Is there anything I can do?

You can either load full stock firmware through Odin, if you haven't any critical data in your phone.
Thanks for the advice, although upon further investigation, it seems that I have been sold a knockoff. I'll have to be more careful next time.
I sideloaded the pie beta (CRKE) and found that some of my apps started to freeze randomly. Because of this, I want to downgrade back to oreo. After researching a bit, it seems like I need to use either odin or smartswitch to do so. Odin just fails (tried multiple times) and smartswitch says my device is up to date. Any suggestions/fixes?

I tried that. In the emergency recovery menu, my device doesn't show up. Does it just take a while for it to appear or should it be instant?
Also, for reference, my s9+ is working, except for the apps that freeze
I think, you have to boot into download-mode for the smart switch recovery.
Also first plug in your phone and then open smart switch

Make sure to unregister from the Beta. Use the samsung Members to do so. You might need the Old Samsung Members or the UK version. The US version was crashing on me after I installed PIE.
Open up Smart Switch on your pc and make sure to install smart switch from the play market on your phone before you plug it in.
Once that is done plug your phone and you should see your s9+ on Smart Switch (pc) and it will say something about downgrade update available.
Good luck

I switched to U1 firmware and got the beta using the app and registering (Also on Xfinity). I did try doing a downgrade using smart switch and it was quite painful and once i finally got it to downgrade it looked like it had destroyed efs so no radio. But I was able to get the full firmware for xfinity and an Odin that works to downgrade and or switch to U1. Let me know if you need links for either.
