Hi,
I'm working on making SystemUI of my new phone (Acer Liquid Z500) more look like stock one.. Acer UI sucks, but it's close to AOSP so I started tinkering with UI apk and finally found strings for original QS settings. Edited header xml, some other things and it started to look promising. Unfortunately, all I can see after I press QS button is black background. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm pretty sure all of them can be enabled somehow, because all the xml files and png images indicates that.
This is how it looked at the beginning:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Very laggy and not good looking Acer's implementation of hot toggles
This is after the editing:
(nothing is visible, only the button on header)
After all the theming via Xposed:
Not even GravityBox or XBlast have done anything about it, they're not here.
So I'm politely asking, if there's person with enough experience, could someone help me with this? I'm not that good in theming, unfortunately.
Attached stock UI apk and modified one.
@PünchUp your help is required .

Some obvious things:
- File and process editing
- Simple two-document interface
- Large files supported
- Portrait and landscape screen orientation supported
- File COMPARE
- simple hex/bin/dec/oct/whatever converter(middle of bottom bar)
and moar.
Program works on wm03/5.0/6.1/6.5, not sure about 6.5.x(gui may look weird, or maybe not).
Very, very nice piece of software, maybe someone find this useful. Useful on the go, imho.
It looks great something that I've always been loooking for. Unfortunately it doesn't behave properly in 6.5.5. I cannot access to the Edit menu. Edit gives File menu, so I got 2 file menus from Edit & File Softkey. Also because of the size of the softkey bar, I cannot access to the bottom line. Are you the developper of this software? If so could you fix this?
Thanks.
Nope, i am not developer of EDh, here's link to dev site:

I was wondering.... after trying to edit about all the images in the contacts.apk i cannot find where the drop down/expanded background image for the call log is at? or maybe there is a seperate .xml edit needed to make it transparent.
the part I want to alter is in the red box, tryin to make it look like whats in the green box as far as the background transparency. this is the expanded contacts in the call log.
I have no idea where to look now.
would really appreciate your help .. thanks.

ok guys... I am still not having any luck with finding where this image is or if its an XML edit .. or both.
I have seen Themes here that have what I am looking for. So I know it can be done and someone has to know the answer.
I have messaged about all the themers here with absolutely no response from about 3/4 of them. The one did respond thought it was in the framework folder .. well I have edited about all the dark images and nothing. Unless i just completely missed it somehow....
I am really wanting to continue to move forward with this and maybe release it along with my other icons and transparent stuff .. but not in its current state as it is and lack of help with where stuff is from time to time.
IF ANYONE has ideas or knows where it is I would really appreciate it.
Hi Guys,
I'm a designer and have put together a concept of a Google Search Widget that I wouldn't mind sitting on my home screen. I've integrated styles from other parts of the UI so that it'll fit more seamlessly into the user experience.
I've never developed for Android before but have done a lot of background reading and am aware of the various \res\drawable images I'll need to replace. My question is whether or not I'll be able to replace those images without rooting my device, using ASTRO for example?
Also, is it a simple case of replacing the \res\drawable images and it working or is there more to it?
I've got a locked bootloader and don't want to unlock it, so am waiting for ICS and a hopeful way to root with a locked bootloader then.
Screenshot of what it will look like:

I'll be re-designing the app that launches upon touch to look more like the Xperia UI menus

Bump for post edit (didn't want to duplicate/start a new topic)
I've been looking round for a bit, ever since I got my nexus 7, for something with a nice clean interface, where I can view all my notifications, the weather, the time and maybe some other things, but i've not found anything that suits my needs.
Android has a beautiful lockscreen and, especially on tablets, has quite a bit of spare room. I realise that lockscreen notifications is going into Apple territory slightly, and have no idea if the addition of this by Google would cause them any repercussions, but I think it would be a nice feature for them to add to this increasingly beautiful OS.
I had a few minutes so I threw something quick together to put my thoughts across as to what a good lockscreen notification system would look like in my opinion.

If anyone has seen something like this that I have missed, please let me know. I think this would be a nice addition to the lockscreen.

Hi, all. I have a question that I hope someone can help me answer. I've been using MeteoNotifier (gplay link here) for the last little while. The app creates two persistent notifications via 2 xml's and, on KitKat, the notifications were Current Conditions on top and the Forecast on the bottom (see example below)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
With the 5.0 Lollipop update, I noticed that the notifications have switched orders (i.e. Forecast on top, Current Conditions on the bottom)(see example below)
My question is, does anyone know how I can change the order of the notifications back and can this be done by editing the xml files? I am not a developer (i.e. no Java knowledge) but I am handy with apktool and xml editing (and very limited knowledge of smali editing). Logic tells me that this most likely cannot be done by simple xml editing but I thought that I'd ask. Thanks.
PS I'm almost certain that the app has been abandoned by the dev (it has not been updated in almost 2 years) and that is why I'm posting the question here. Plus, I enjoy learning about this stuff
