Just got bored of CM7 and decided to see what I could do with my stock ROM. I have OC'ed to 902MHz and am happy with the CPU performance, but I/O is poor. Can I change the file system to something that can read/write faster? Any help would be great!
Thanks

try turbo boost i think it will help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1380006
sounds like u use cfroot. so just install nofrills cpu control from market, open it and set io scheduler to noop. the difference from default deadline is noticable.
hye all friend,,i just want ask something,,i use custom GB rom and x kernel,,can somebody tell what the best setting for cpu and I/O scheduler??for now i just use default setting,,thanks for all if answer my question

yeah,,i think standard setting better too,,my I/O standard setting deadline,,:good:
The governor is pretty much up to you.
I combine interactive with ondemand...depending on what im doing and what i want from my phone.
The frequency is also switched back and forth, 364-1017MHz at one time while im at 410-1410 when i want some speed, and according to the benchmarking and testing i get around 25-30% increase (maybe more, maybe less while using)
The I/O scheduler i use is NOOP... Tried deadline, but i kinda notice a better performance with NOOP.
That's my opinion on the question you asked.
noop better from deadline??because my default setting is deadline,,

i use ondemand or brazilianwax because i choose performance over battery

Im using FTS rc ROM
InteractiveX seems much laggy than hotplug or hotplugx in gaming
since i want the hotplugging features therefore im deciding on hotplug or its X version, which one is better? ( performance and battery)
One more q, can i change my governor without using apps? If yes how can i do that? Thanks (new to android, sorry for dumb q)

There is no 'recommended' ones,
just play with it a little (if oc'ing, don't oc above 1.4)
choose different govners and schedulers and see how they work for you...

For battery you can use governor as smartassv2 or virtuous and I/o scheduler noop..
For performance you can use ondemand or ondemandx with sio ..
Hello!
Which combination of governor and scheduler is the best for our phones? Smooth system and quite low power consumption.
Governors:
Hotplug, interactive, conservative, ondemand, userspace, powersave, performance
Schedulers:
Noop, deadline, cfq
My L9 is running at settings:
screen off: powersave + noop, cpu 1 GHz to 300 MHz
Screen on: interactive + noop, cpu 1GHz to 800 MHz
Sometimes my L9 has lag, not often.
What is the best combination in Your opinion? Stock JB
Tapatalk 4 - LG L9
sio
Smartass v2
Screen on 230000-1420000
Screen off 230000-422400
noop
hotplug
307200-614400 for battery not bad in response

Is it for stock JB? I don't have such governor as smartass and sio as scheduler.

I changed my settings to similar and it's better. No lags and good battery usage.
Screen unlock: 1GHz performance + noop
Screen off: 300 MHz - 1 GHz interactive + noop

I don't know. I don't have sio in schedulers list in my rom. I saw explanation of schedulers types on some sites.

This is a great thread about this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663809 and this (CPU&I/O) http://androidforums.com/galaxy-y-a...cpu-governors-i-o-schedulers-explanation.html
I use interactive governor because it's fast in switching between frequencies, and noop for I/O.

Sometimes there is lag when using interactive. I've even tweaked interactive and system is not working as smooth as when using performance

You can use ondemand ,lower the Sampling Rate to 30000 and up threshold between 70 to 90. This also smooth and balance between battery and performance.
