Hey, I'm a complete noob in terms of android ROM development. So I was hoping someone here would help me out.
I have an international HTC One X+, bought it two years ago. I'm usually very busy with work so I don't have the time to flash my device regularly. But I plan to finally do it in the coming holidays.
I see a lot of ROM's out there but cannot determine which one I should choose.
Can someone please suggest the fastest and most stable ROM for android 4.4/4.3?
Thanks a lot
Carbon ROM is good.

Have a One X+ arriving tomorrow. First Android phone. Have general knowledge about Custom ROMs but couple questions regarding the options now and future for this device.
Comes with Android 4.1 and Sense 4.5. Obviously like many Power Users, I would love to have Android 4.2 be realize it was just released to AOSP a couple days ago.
Will any ROM for One X work with One X+ since they are essentially the same device, just faster clock speed and bigger battery?
Is there a Cleanrom with Android 4.1 and Sense 4.5? And if there is, or will be, are the benefits significant enough to make it worth installing? I'm not doing gaming or anything. So performance isn't a big concern. Stability and battery life are really my main concerns.
Based on past experience, how long probably until there is a Jelly Bean 4.2 stable ROM for this device?

No, the HOX+ has a different kernal so will need to be a HOX+ specific device. Stay tuned as if you have an ATT USA version you might need a specific rom for this carrier too, we dont' know yet.

It is Sense 4+, not sure where you read 4.5? Yes there are custom roms here, have you not checked the sub-forum???

Probably a few weeks, maybe a month, who knows since you can't even root your device yet if your on ATT USA??? Patience my friend, patience and in the mean time enjoy your device out of the box as it already comes amazing. By the time you have the device fully figured out i'm sure a Root and 4.2 Clean Rom will be available by then. Don't get ahead of yourself bud

I just ordered one as well. Is there anyone currently working on either a MIUI Rom or a vanilla Android 4.2 rom for this device? I'd gladly donate if someone did.
Thanks
Have been on a research on how to root my device for the past one month. As my device's warranty got over last month I am planning on testing out the rooting.
Is there a Jelly Bean 4.2.2 ROM released for Canadian Galaxy note and if so could somebody please point me to the best ROM available right now.
Read a lot about Paranoid Android ROMS. Are they good? I really liked there idea of delivery notifications regardless of the screen we are in.
Please help.
Thanks again.
"Best threads" are typically frowned upon here. ALL developers work hard and are proud of their work and don't like being compared. Whatever ROM works on the USA Note will work on a Canadian Note. If you want to learn about features then at least read the first post of each of the ROM's threads. Or hold off for a short time until the Canadian 4.1.2 ROM is officially released. Since you don't seem to be in a hurry then take the time to read and learn for yourself. Your other thread has some very good links in it to get you started.
Hi,
So I have been a member of this forum since I had my first HTC phone (the Inspire). Recently (maybe a year or so ago?) I got my HTC One X+ (AT&T) and I was looking forward to custom ROMs since there were numerous problems with them on my Inspire (look at my past posts). I am running Elegancia 5.2.0 which is still based on the 4.1.1 Jellybean. I want to move to a custom ROM with a 4.2.2 base, but the only things I find are international versions of the ROMs. Have developers completely just forgotten the AT&T/ Telus versions of the phone? Why is no one developing ROMs for both versions of the phone anymore? Is there anyone that is working on an updated ROM for the AT&T/ Telus version? I understand that developers are dedicating their time to produce these ROMs, but why has the other version of the phone just become completely forgotten?
Sorry for the rant, but I had to get this off since it has gotten agonizing not being able to run the newest Android OS with a custom ROM since no one produces anything else except international versions. Thanks for reading.

If on anyone blame it on AT&T. They have not released to us the 4.2.2 update. Devs are always with us and still developing amazing pieces of work... you just have to read to see.

All the problems can pretty much be blamed on the carriers almost exclusively. There are devs who would make a updated rom if they had the source. As for porting international ROMs over, as was common practice for the Inspire 4G and Desire HD, there are apparently hardware issues that come up that devs either can't fix, or just don't want to spend unneeded time trying to get working. (Like LTE)
In short, yell at ATT and/or Google and the manufactures for allowing carriers to hold up updates to fill it with crapware.

Thanks for explaining it to me guys. It just is annoying me to death.
i have also bought a htc one x+ instead htc one x international version (even though both were of same price).. didnt see the development ratio 1st and now i m regretting my purchase...
nothing much to test/play arround only elegancia and venom XL :crying:
Yeah, from what I understand it's got a lot to do with the hardware. Seems very few phones are using the tegras, etc. and as a result very few devs end up with the device...basically, it's just much easier to develop for the more standardized hardware so those are the devices the devs gravitate to. Add on to that very small number of devs that there's no s-off, no 4.2.2 update, etc. and you have your reason.
I was also hoping to have more to play around with on this phone, but unfortunately that seems highly unlikely. As time goes on we'll probably see less development and fewer devs rather than the other way around.

Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone could help me/the htc first community out.
Problem? Not a single dev has been able to port CM to this device...
Although The HTC First is not a very popular device and when i was buying it i wasn't expecting much, but it stacks up well even against the iPhone 5s and the Galaxy S3 (usa edition) as far as hardware and benchmarks.
Ive worked with making android apps before, but have never had experience with making a rom...or porting roms. BUT i was wondering if there is ANYONE at all willing to give this a go.
2 methods....
1) to do it yourself
or
2) educate the htc first community on rom porting so that maybe one of us could attempt to do it.
I know im being a total idiot for asking for help but after multiple requests since april of 2013 for CM support and after 2 devs tried and then vanished all of a sudden, we are in a kind of desperate situation. So if you are willing to even TRY (and even if you fail) we will be most certainly greatful.
Thank you! VERY MUCH
(Hint, the htc one mini is pretty much identical to the htc first...so maybe that will help)
bump??
Hi all, I have a refurbished At&T note 3 that hasn’t been booted since I got it from an insurance claim back in 2015. I kinda forgot about it. Then today I got curious if there were stable custom rims that make it usable again to play around with. Not to be used as my main device. Anyhoo I’ve been absent from the forums for a long time. Hoping somebody will point me in the direction of the most stable custom rom available for this device please and thank you. I’m looking forward to tinkering with it again
