Hey,
Snapchat only records like one or two seconds of video. Through research it's because it exceeds the maximum file size before the video can be finished. I first found this in cyanogenmod, so i flashed archidroid which fixed the issue, but i didn't like that ROM so i moved to LiquidSmooth where i have found the issue again.
So i have searched through pretty much every thread with the same issue, and tried the following fixes:
- Deleting snapchat +clearing all data
- Re-flashing the ROM + factory reset + dalvik cache
- Installing a "fix" of the camera by flashing the zip which supposedly fixes the issue for AOSP ROMs (which i assume LiquidSmooth is?)
- Changing camera video recording to 480p
Extra info: It works better in low light for some reason.
Please could someone help me with a fix?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I installed CM6 v6.1. The camera works well but the video recorder crash. I tried to modify the sd cache size as mentionned on the change log ("if not check sd cache size or cpu speed") but without success
I would like to mention that the video recorder worked well on CM6 v5.
Any idea to solve this issue?
By the way, you are performing a great work, guys.

Ok, after a full wipe and factory reset, the video recording works. I also copied the liboemcamera.lib from V5 to V6.01 but I don't think, it was requested.

I got fed up and just re-install ROM and it worked.
I need help installing the STOCK GS3 Camera app & Gallery to my Paranoid-ROM v2+.
I'm a not a frequent poster to XDA but i have read many a posts so I know a thing or two (At least 2 things total =P).
I also know I NEED HELP to do this, since I'm still a novice compared to many of you on this site.
Since I don't know enough, I've tried some controlled experiments below... ok I tried brute forcing it through various combinations. But after about 6 hours of reading and attempts, I'm out of ideas and with nothing to show for it.
I used the following files so far:
SamsungCamera_HX-MOD.zip
Camera_HX-MOD_1.52_CWM.zip
-----
A SUMMARY OF ATTEMPTS:
I have downloaded HX Mod, Stock Camera app.
Enabled root for Apps and ADB.
Copy & Paste-
Experimented with permissions settings in Root Explorer for the Stock Camera app to read/write/execute, set uid, set guid, sticky
All install attempts failed
CWM
Experimented with a mix of copying camera apps, and flashing zip.
I never saw one single new file after flashing any zips, be it the camera, or the camera mod. Also tried subsequent zip flashing of camera zip first followed by the HX mod 2nd and a reboot, still no new files displayed.
-----
What I've gleaned so far, if it helps you help me:
The Gallery apk of the Paranoid-ROM has a built in activity shortcut for the camera, camera prefrences, and video camera.
I theorize replacing the gallery will remove the camera app and video app, freeing any conflicts, but I DONT KNOW ENOUGH of what steps I am missing to sucessfully install the STOCK GS3 Cam, and gallery in its place.

ANY HELP would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!
Thanks in advance.
you can.t have stock samsung camera in aosp/aokp/cm9/cm10 roms. you can try aosp camera from themes&aps, have similar features like stock samsung camera.
Well, since I don't have the 10 posts needed to actually post in ROM's thread, I will have to make do here and hope this is the proper place.
I'm using Hashcode's amazing JB 4.2.1 ROM on an XT912, and then tried the camera fix posted by Quarx here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35151093&postcount=25
After using EX File Explorer to copy over the files, the camera no longer FCs, but instead errors with a "cannot connect to camera". I've tried rebooting, fixing permissions, clearing cache, clearing the gallery app cache, completely powering down for several minutes, and re-installing the 4.2 Camera. Still left with the same error.
Googling everywhere about this has yielded surprisingly no help. The camera fix seems to be working for most everyone else, so just wondering if there's some easy fix I've overlooked (or if I somehow broke something), or if I will just have to wait for the next sweet ROM update from Hashcode (who is apparently merging the fix in with his ROM base).
If anyone has any suggestions for fixing this type of error, they would be much appreciated. Thank you!
Hi, I would like to tell you my series of unfortunate events.
I was on Stock Android Rom with my International s3.
Yesterday i got bored and i installed Revolution Hd Rom (32). It was awesome! i liked 4.2 and i liked that it was stable/fast.
My main concern WAS the stability and speed about roms. And Revolution was flawless.
So while i was setting up my phone, i did something HORRIBLE!
I was trying to install Jobnik's slow mo camera app with cwm. But stupidly i tried to flash it like a rom (Used app to reboot and install rom.)
So my device was stuck on boot. (on samsung logo)
- I tried to wipe cache
- Tried to wipe cache + dalvik cache
- Tried to wipe cache + dalvik cache + factory data reset+user data wipe (a little problem there though, all of my files were still there.)
And nothing helped.
I give up.
I was lucky, i had the rom image on my sd card root. So i flashed it again. Installed with aroma. And ta-dah! My phone was back!
SOO here comes my problem;
- Now my rom is so slow! I have some flickering issues too. When i first installed i've selected some tweaks. (build.prop, sqlite and seeder.)
Second time i didn't.
Now i don't want to flash my rom AGAIN
Is there any way for me to get those tweaks again. OR even is that possible those tweaks were THAT important.
My phone feels like **** now. Please point me towards somewhere.
I've installed Watchdog and there are no apps that hogs my cpu. So i think my performance issue lies somewhere else.
- Note: My account is new, so i couldn't posted to the rom's thread. (Also couldn't able to find an Official Q&A thread.)
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE
I was poking around and i found out if i disable HW Overlay from Developer options flickering issue goes away and it "seems" like i have less lag.
But what i've read about this option tells me to not disable it because HW overlay is good for performance & battery. Should i disable it. Or does my ROM requires HW to be disableD?
