FAQ
FIRST AND FOREMOST
HOW TO PROPERLY POST A BUG - Guide to logcats, dmesg and last_kmsg.
Coming in and saying "XYZ isn't working", isn't as helpful as some might think. Even if your intentions are good i.e., making this rom better, I (and any developer for that matter)needs more info. Logcats are the way to do this. If it's a kernel panic, last_kmsg is where it's at. Without supplying me with proper logs I may not be able to help and you may be ignored. Sorry to be harsh but we all have lives outside of xda(hopefully) and time is pretty precious.
GPS isn't working! HELP!
While it works for me, this has been a known issue on LG phones and AOSP roms since I owned my LGOG. First thing to try is to restore your stock backup, get a lock for a few minutes then restore the rom. The only other issue may be with your particular version of GAPPS. Sometimes Google Services can act funny with location services. I use PA Nano and have had zero issues with GPS.
Why won't NFC work?
This is a bug for pretty much every rom right now. We are all working on a fix and as soon as one is available, I will rebuild and reupload the rom.
My 64gb+ sd card won't work!!
While exFAT is usually preferred over FAT32, exFAT has been hit or miss so USE A COMPUTER to format your sd card to FAT32 if exFAT doesn't work for you. DO NOT USE TWRP OR STOCK LG - USE A COMPUTER!!!!

Yeah I was gonna say, I had that issue before as well and knew I fixed it(took me FOREVER and I refused to release even a beta until the basics work) but remnants are a serious pain particularly on LG products.

Had the same issue with SMS.
I've tried the GAPPS Mini Modular Package and that doesn't seem to work. I don't have any Google apps.
Gonna try the Full Gapps and report back
Another strange thing is the End Call button wont work. I have honestly never experienced that one before

Ok new upload and link has simply been changed behind the scenes. I downloaded that one and got the same problem when flashing. The one I uploaded I also flashed and everything was fine so hopefully this one uploaded correctly.

Works great now! This ROM is sweet, you do great work! I haven't noticed any issues yet. SMS is working, calls work now as well. Thanks again!
Rom has been running great guys. I use hangouts, so I never have any problems sending or receiving. Thanks so much for these kk builds. To me LP is just to boring at the moment.

Oh yeah, Idk if it would be the same for lollipop, but resync, everything. lol. That's what I did. And used cm/the muppets updated sources for device and vendor. Then change cm.mk and cm.dependencies to liquid.mk, etc and change the files themselves(switch cm to liquid in those) and voila! Hope it helps you buddy!
EDIT: Oh, under vendor you need atleast g3-common and lss990, under devices you need those AND qcom, possibly samsung as well but definitely qcom and g3/ls990. Good luck.

What is your apn set to under mobile network? It should be Sprint LTE. If it is then I'm guessing there is still an issue with the eri.xml file but it should just be a label error. It doesn't mean you are actually roaming or should incur roaming charges, particularly if you have data not working while roaming(under the same mobile network menu in settings). I'll look into it but mine says Sprint.
Damn, you've been busy HP. Thanks so much for all this. Won't be able to try til Monday, but looking forward to it.

It's weird because even though I think I may know what the issue is, mine and aheeejd's said Sprint. These phones are too picky. I'm gonna try something and rebuild anyway. New build probably won't be up til tomorrow though.

Strange strange strange. It's working a1 on both phones I have.
Please send a catlog.
I'm on phone right now. I'll send the location on keylayout if you don't find it so alt kernels will not have inverted volume.
Are you both on alt kernels?

ok use root browser or your favorite file manager,
navigate to :
system/usr/keylayout
in there, find : keypad_8064.kl
invert keys 115, 114 (change volume_up for volume_down) and vice versa. You'll be good to go. That's only valid for alt kernels. the provided one is fine as is.
Y U NO LOVE MA KERNELZ?
Hmm..wouldn't boot on my E970. I full wiped and attempted to flash via TWRP (the kit kat one with SElinux support) and then CWM 6.0.3.8. I'm going to assume bad download and try again later tonight. Great work on the rom man! I was using your canadian geeb variant for the longest time as a daily driver (I don't have anything of great importance on my sdcard).

Unofficial CyanogenMod 11 SABERMOD 4.8 Toolchain
Alright, well it's about time Google. What we have here is going to be CM11 4.4.4 builds for your Galaxy S2 i777 with the bonus of Sabermod toolchain. I will continue to add tweaks and change things but this will also be updated from CyanogenMod as well. I could theme this if interested as well and at some point I will add more features and tweaks. CLEAN install is recommended for your first time but dirty will be fine after that unless I notify you differently.
HOW TO INSTALL
Make sure you are on CWM 6.0.4.4+ before flashing ROM!
I by far recommend TWRP tho as that is what all testing will be done with because I no longer use CWM.
Download the zip
Download compatible Gapps
WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET
Wipe Cache/Dalvic Cache
Flash the Rom
Flash Gapps
Reboot
Enjoy
Install from my previous build:
Download the zip

WIPE Dalvik Cache
Flash the ROM

I honestly haven't used Omni in probably 18 months so maybe @cyril279 could help me out here. I know it's similar but from I can remember from way back at least is that cm was more feature rich but again that's been awhile. Sorry been busy trying to as linaro and some small tweaks the kernel and it's been eating my spare time. It's in the recommended gapps for this ROM, but I've had it before, back when Render was still working on 4.4.2. It's a massive battery hog, and so I just disable it w/ TIB
No such battery issues here. Over twenty hours both days. Might use a different gapps when I post the next build anyway just haven't tested it yet

Can anyone tell me if the GPS is working on this rom? So far the only rom that I've found GPS to be working on 4.4.2 would be SOKP Ported Milestone 1.

It works. I always use GPS status with this phone. First lock takes about a minute but it's faster after that but I always use the high accuracy with this device

omni rom has a great experience but just as a stock KK means features free but cm has a lot more features and i believe with the latest nighties i have had more smoothness aside from the new update to 4.4.3 which isn't so smooth yet as its still just out . i have tried omni at first but i settled for the cm experience bc its just smooth and feature loaded without any lag , also slim saber by cyril is fantastic and he didd a great job with his solid base but still miss the unique slim customizations . so if i may recommend go with cm but if wanting some minimal taste then go with slim . hope this made it a bit clear for you :cyclops:
New build up. Switched download repository. Updated OP and I also changed the gapps link to an updated version that should work for this device. I'll finish adding linaro to the kernel before the next build just haven't had time to finish editing some things I wanted to test quite yet. Flash and report any issues. Thanks

Arrggghh. Just got the rom installed and now a new one. My typical dumb luck. Anyway I have the 01/05/2014 gapps installed. Seems to be working ok except lately I keep getting the contacts failing to sync. tryed clearing the data for contact storage, but it seems to be a problem in the future.
Anyway, what is the difference with the new Gapps you put up? Do I just install the gapps you put together over top of my existing gapps in recovery?

Wow, thanks @tonyt
You're really pushing these builds! Awesome.
I've only just downloaded AOKP. Still need to flash it though. Will probably try on ROM slot 1.
Currently on Paranoid Android. I was using CM11 for a long time, but after a while it starts lagging, and it seems silly to have to clear cache or monitor everything that's running all the time. Will see how PA does after two weeks or so. But I will be trying your ports out very, very soon!!!
Thank you!
Generated on a RAZR Maxx (XT910) using XDA's free mobile app.
@tonyt I never thought I would have so many choices! Theses are all great. I won't use an AOSP ROM, and all the ROMs you have recently posted are based on or use an AOKP type of system. (They all allow the led light to work with the screen ON, either natively or with the XLed module...)
Currently using the AOSB, and it is running well! Still restoring apps, but this one allows me to move them to the SD card. I loved Dirty Unicorns, but kept running out of space. Keep up the great work, and Thank You!

I'm using AOSB as my daily driver I'm in love with this rom, I'm trying to build and fix all the roms that I can, today I'll post new versions of AOSB and told me if you prefer AOKP or DU, Omni stills downloading because my family power off my computer and all the sync goes to the trash but if I can I build Omni today.
Thanks to you!!
Had you asked me 2 days ago which ROM I would prefer you to work on, it would have been AOKP. That has been the same answer for 3 years. My favorite, then Liquid Smooth.
However, your AOSB is incredible. GPS seemed to work, I just need to try the voice navigation. Everything else is smooth as silk. I will try to reinstall Dirty Unicorns later, but for now, this is amazing.
Keep up the great work, and again, thank you!

First of all, thanks for your ROMs, its great to have the possibility to choose from so many variations.
My question (sorry if this has already been asked): Do you think its possible to build a cm-12 version for the RAZR? I just checked all (I think) relevant repositories in cyanogenmods github, they all now include a cm-12 branch...

I couldn't build, the breakfast, lunch, and brunch commands kept giving me errors. I am trying to build AOSP 5.0.0_r6 right now. My repo sync of AOSP will be done in around 50 minutes.
@tonyt. Could you try building CM12 just to see if it wasn't my computer that caused the errors?
Thanks.

That'd be great. Tried to build it myself a couple of days back, but Motorola's omap-4-common repo hadn't been synced, so the make command failed epically And right now, I just don't have the time to work through the whole procedure again.

MOD EDIT: THREAD CLOSED PER OP REQUEST
Mods: Feel free to lock this thread. I'm done with this. Reasoning below.
Alright well, it was cool. I didn't realize how much went into ROMs [development]. I came into this way over my head and didn't do the proper bug checking before posting it. This was a learning experience for me, and I thought I had this figured out. Oops. I'm going to continue working with ROM source code and expanding my knowledge of this, but it'll be all a personal, private project. Thanks to the community for all of the guides they've posted on this site, and I hope one day I can do something meaningful for this community.
If you really want to run a pure AOSP ROM, you should try @freak97's master branch builds. His has the Verizon call audio issue just as this one does, and neither of us seem to know why that is, but hopefully he figures it out. Fair warning about his builds though, Netflix doesn't work on his ROM (he's probably missing the vendor files which are on this ROM which allow Netflix to work, because DRM), and the package installer will force close if you try to install an APK from outside of the Play Store.

This is stock AOSP from the Google repos. It contains no extra features, other than the extremely small list below. Any additions to these builds will be purely for compatibility and to make the device easier to use (ex. Enabling tethering). I intend to keep this updated with each of the new releases which appear.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please

* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you. Then cry. Then laugh more.

What is "Clean Whale"?
Clean Whale is a ROM for the Google Nexus 6! Why the name? Because it's essentially pure AOSP running on the Nexus 6. Clean Android, Nexus 6 (shamu). Clean Whale. Why did I make a name for it if it's just AOSP? Because I needed a name for the Github repo. Deal with it.
Features
As stated above, this is pure AOSP with minimal changes. Here's what I've done:
Enabled Tethering
MultiROM support
Encryption isn't forced
Stock AOSP boot animation
Unrooted (also no Busybox. Just install it with an app.)
Yeah, that's literally it.
Kernel
This ROM uses the stock AOSP kernel from Google. The only thing added to it is the kexec-hardboot patch for MultiROM support. Yes, you can use MultiROM with this as a primary or secondary. Enjoy.
Changelog is in second post
Requirements:
Unlocked bootloader
The latest version of TWRP
Install Instructions:
Download the ROM.
Boot into TWRP make backup, and wipe (System, Data, Cache)
Flash the ROM
Flash SuperSU and/or GApps if you wish to use them.
Boot up and enjoy pure AOSP!
NOTE: First boot and signing in (if using GApps) may lag a little bit. Not much I can do about that, sorry. It'll go away pretty quick (if you really don't want to deal with it, reboot immediately after first boot).
Root
As stated above, this doesn't come with root OR Busybox. Why? Becuase neither are included in the source code, and I want this to be as close to the original source as possible. You can get root by flashing SuperSU (I've only tested the latest BETA version) and you can get Busybox by installing it with an app from the Playstore (requires root).

Bugs/Issues
Verizon call audio is broken - Currently working on this.
You may get "Error 7: System partition has unexpected contents after OTA update" when flashing. 1.1 should fix it. If you get this error when flashing, please report it here and provide a recovery.log [Fix attempted]
I would just like to take a minute to say thank you to @fhem @Scott for their amazing work with their threads which teach the community about how to download and compile a ROM from source. They're the reason this is here, and they're the reason I've decided to start working with custom ROM source code. This is my first experience working with Android in this way, and I have them to thank. Also, since this is my first experience I may very well get some things wrong and/or manage to break this. If that happens, I'm sorry. I'm still learning.
Thank you all for this wonderful community, and I hope one day I can really get into true ROM development

Made some changes which should fix Error 7, building now (gonna be a while... for some reason my ccache reset). As for the lack of call audio, I'm going to see if I can get any useful info from the logcat. I have a feeling I'm missing some libs.

True, didn't think about that. Noob mistake on my part, though you're right. It could definitely give the answer. Although I updated the ota_from_target_files.py in build/tools/releasetools, which should fix the error (in theory).

What exactly do you mean by this? Taking the factory images here and just uploading it with changes? Seems kind of pointless since there are multiple ROMs on here which are modded stock. Some people like 100% AOSP, and this is a good learning experience for me. I'm not very interested in modifying Google's factory images. I'll leave that to others

AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

You tell...
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Marshmallow. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.
If you want to contribute to the AICP or wanna see what is being worked on/merge feel free to visit our gerrit, link is at the bottom!!!

No you don't need to do anything if you've already done the partition swap. I would make sure I am on MDMowers TWRP and you should be fine, don't dirty flash the ROM do clean flash only.

Thanks bro but with clean flash you mean wipe everything and then install ROM then gapps .?
And g apps suppose to be arm>6.0>aroma right?

Yes, backup your stuff and wipe everything. And yes, you can use aroma if you'd like.
Any Specific Baseband?
Beeko, Is there a specific baseband/radio version for this ROM? I'm coming from PACROM 5.1.1 and the baseband that IT requires is installed. When I clean-flashed and booted phone into this ROM, I had no connection/wireless service. I'm going to attempt it again today and check out more possibilities I may have missed. Thank you for keeping this phone relevant and up to date.

I'll have to test when I get home, I don't think there were any new basebands so I'll look when I'm home.
Seems I can't get Verizon APN to show. I'll check the build and make a new one tonight/tomorrow

That is what I am seeing too, something like "apn not available for this user" or something similar - It won't allow me to add APN info.

I'll be looking at it tonight/tomorrow. I've got some stuff for another device that I have to fix first tonight.

As I said before, thanks for publicizing your interest in keeping this phone model "flowing". You have a donate paypal? I'll toss some bucks your way, since I have been using PacManRom, and now hearing from you about this...interactively. Glad to see people squeeze all performance out of (unsubsidized) 600.00 dollar pieces of gear, instead of contracts, latest and (perceived greatest) phone "upgrades".

I'm not accepting donations personally but thank you. I've been busy with other devices so I've kinda left this one in the dirt. But I'm gonna see what I can do for it here this next week or so.
New build in OP. Hopefully got the RIL problem fixed.
ROM update in OP, along with fixed RIL. Wasn't sure if it was working last build, tried with my SIM and it works fine.
Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for this ROM. It is really a great ROM. Super smooth and stable. It is not my main phone anymore but every now and then I switch to it for awhile for some reason. Not sure if it's the smaller size or the nostalgia (was my first smart phone), but I just can't seem to get rid of this phone. Was using your PAC Rom up until now, but it's good to get it updated to an MM based ROM for when I do use it.
Decryption Issues
Hi
when i turn on my htc it asks for a password..
could you provide it.

Thank you, again. The phone is like brand new with this Rom. No loggers, no adware shows up. Great having adaway built in. This Rom makes this old phone sooooo smooth, runs cooler, battery seems managed better. I'm not a fan of android coaxing me to format my SD to it, but I did (backed the contents up to Pc) so the phone has 32 gigs mem. Again, THANK YOU!
The only bug I have found so far, Is turning off mobile hotspot hangs, unless I restart, hotspot stays on. Sometimes I can get it to turn off if I tap hotspot settings or mess with wifi power button bar. On Pacman Rom, what fixed it for me was "allow wifi scanning even when wifi is off." I'm looking for similar settings to see if that does the trick.
Many Thanks Beeko!

Thanks for this rom, just posting this info for others who may want to know what it can/can't do.
I had a little trouble deciphering the conversion from stock to the swapped CM11/12 version ( I first tried what the page describes as for CM13 roms, but ended in boot loops with logcat choking on /data/media permissions)
ROM runs great. I had forgotten the issues with trying to get too many apps on the PacRom with stock partitions.
Data/cell seems fine, video playback excellent, it now makes for a nice portable media player.
I don't have it activated, so cant comment on the hotspot issue mentioned above but Bluetooth has issues.
Can turn on and see other devices, but I get the message "cant communicate to xx:xx:..." when trying to pair to a known working speaker.
A minor flaw in an otherwise great ROM.
Thanks for developing it.
edit: on a whim, I initiated pairing to my speaker, flipped the speaker's power on/off, and immediately the phone changed the mac address of the speaker to it's identifying name, and a pairing request popped up. Pairs successfully.
