MDR-NC31EM noise cancelling headset problem (power saving mode) - Xperia Z2 Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The noise cancellation works fine, but the "power saver mode" is always on.
It is supposed to "stop the Noise Cancellation when the screen is off and no music playing" when ticked and, apparently, "to have Noise Cancellation always on" when unticked (which is very useful if you want to sleep during the flight).
I can untick it in "Audio Settings" - "Noise Cancelling" but the noise cancellation still stops a second after I turn the screen off.
(I am using a WiFi-only 16Gb model, SGP511)
Any clues?
Cheers!

[Q] Noise reduction MOD (CheckROM/KitchenPro)

I've installed the KitchenPro (CheckROM Revo4) Phone mod that has noise reduction off + call recording.
I can see the call record button, and when I press the menu key I can see a button 'Voice reduction off' which when I press changes to 'Voice reduction on'
My question is, When the button is showing 'Voice reduction off' does it mean that voice reduction is off or does it mean that voice reduction will be turned off if I press it.
I'd like voice reduction to be off by default, since the people im calling get echo if i have my case on.
Thanks for the help.
Good question and I've wondered myself but I came to a conclusion. Whatever it is, it will be the opposite of what it is in stock mode. Or else they wouldn't have bothered making the mod.
So, I think you no longer need to hit the button during calls.
Anyway, I believe NR is set to off with the mod.

When you are actively on a call, on the screen next to the "Hold" button, if you see an icon that looks like a sound wave with a line striking through it, then NR is turned on. If you do NOT see it, than NR is NOT turned on.
Make sense?

What is the Noise Supression option for?

Hi I was wondering what is the noise suppression option for in the call setting under additional setting? Would it make my in call volume louder if i turned it off?
It helps reduce the amount of background noise on the other persons end so they can hear you clearer. It has nothing to do with the audio that comes thru your end ;-)

Oh ok is ther any way to increase the in call volume?
The icon confuses me. I don't know is it's on or off. I'm a big dummy

Not sure if theres any way to increase volume in the handset, mine has always been loud enough
You only see the icon when its enabled, so if you don't see it when your on a call you're either on speaker or its disabled.

When Turned ON, the phone will use the secondary mic to capture background noise and therefore suppress it ,not allowing it to get into your current call, it has nothing to do with the volume of the call.
To surpress noise. I that that was already pretty self explainitory?
Ok THANKS FOR THE INFO

Click to collapse
Actually a very nice option for those like myself who uses a case that covers this second/noise cancellation mic...

Noise reduction icon

That sqiggly noise reduction icon isn't appearing on my call screen, already checked the options during call, no turn on/off noise reduction option there.
I'm using XWLP4 unrooted. Any ideas?

[Q] Notifications when listening to music

Hi, when i am listening to music on my head phones and a text comes through it defaults to this loud beeping noise. If i play around with the volume/sounds long enough it will change to the notification sound that i originaly set, and the volume is much lower. The second i unplug my head phones and plug them back in the default loud beeping notification is present.
Is there sonething that i am missing? When listening to music on my headphones I just want the notification noise to be the the sound i initially chose (when my headphones are unplugged) and not the default beeping noise.
I think this is so that it's easier to hear? I'm not sure. I like the beeping noise actually.
Interestingly, in Settings > Message, you'll find the Tone and Vibrate options disabled...

Is there a way to disable the sound when charger is connected?

Hi,
I usually charge the phone at night and when I connect the charger the phone beeps so loudly that it wakes up my partner if is she already asleep.
If there is a way to remove the beep or at least reduce the volume?
I actually have a problem with the volume of all notifications... they are too loud... but most can be disabled, while I can't find a way to disable the charging sound notification...
Thanks.
A
Turnoff your sound? lol
Silent your mobile quickly from the Shortcuts area in pull down menu when you are charging.
Once charging gets completed, Enable the sound.
I must add that I use the "Do not disturb" feature with a night schedule that kicks in before I go to bed so when I connect the phone, "Do not disturb" is enabled with a rule that should allow only priority interruptions. I would say that connecting the charger should not qualify as a priority interruption so the phone should remain silent.
Do I understand that the only way to remove this noise is to set the phone to be fully silent?
S... Priority interruptions only avoid call or notification tones.
System sounds are not avoided. Try disabling system sounds.
How do I disable system sounds?
You can reduce it by manually as usual.
Some idiot programmer believes that everybody in the room should wake up when you decide to charge your phone. There is no individual setting. Do this:
First plug in earphones, then the charger, and then remove the earphones.
