only on nutella kernel , wifi mac address is 00:00:00:00:00:00 nad i can't connect to any wifi network.
How do I fix this?
please help me
It probably happened due to an error while flashing. Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe Dalvik cache, then flash the ROM you want to use (I would personally recommend Carbon ROM). After flashing that, don't forget to repeat the 3 wipes (data, cache partition, Dalvik cache) before installing PA GApps for 4.4 (Mini Modular).

Look, I wrote the logic so I know how it works. You can see it here:
https://github.com/Meticulus/nutell...b/master/usr/venturi_initramfs_files/init#L25
This file "/efs/imei/.nvmac.info" should have your mac address in it! If it does not or it is missing; you must create it and put your mac address in there.
Simple!
I will not respond to further questions on this matter.
EDIT: As you can see here:
https://github.com/Meticulus/nutell...b/master/usr/venturi_initramfs_files/init#L16
/efs is supposed to be formated vfat. If it is not then it won't mount, so it's the same problem!

Hi guy.
Which rom do you want install?
If you want to keep archos firmware and have root, install Chulri's kernel. It works like a charm. Just download the kernel (see his post) and unpack it, it calls avosxxxx if my memory is good. Select the kernel correspond to your version of rom.
Try others rom with different kernel and initramfs.cpio.gz, like bull rc2 or urukdroid.
Read the 'how to' it's usefull
Else try recover -> reset android or reformat device AFTER download another rom on archos website ( aos file).
Bizcuite.

Thanks for the answer but I don't want to change rom.
i want to fix the rom i already have.
do you know how???
do you mean this rom??

Read the end of my answer. You can reset android system. Search in menu, i have remove archos kernel and uses only sde. i don't remember exactly the name of this menu.

Try this:
Backup yours data if you need - all data will be wipe after the reformat device.
Download this:
If you have a 70 first gen:
h_ttp://update.archos.com/8/gen8/gen8_2.4.83/firmware_archos_android_gen8.aos
If you have a 70B froyo version:
h_ttp://update.archos.com/8/gen8v2/gen8v2_2.4.83/firmware_archos_android_gen8.aos
-Go to boot menu (vol up+power)
-enter recovery menu
-format system
-reformat device
** connect the tab to sector and wait the full format **
after the format, it tells you to put the image file on the tab.
Looks your drive and put the AOS file on the drive's tab.
press power to validate after the transfert and the tab reinstall fully the system.
I hope that will help you.

Under SDE:
Try to reinstall your wifi app, and reset all cache and uninstall it again.
If it doesn't worked, try to go to /data/app/ and remove the app. Next go to /data/data/ and remove all files in relation with your wifi software. (use rootexplorer or other similar app).

Please use the right terms, as you will not get the correct answers.
There is no poweruser, you might mean superuser.
And as you can only be using Chulri's root, you can find the cure in the first post there under the point about the UnionFS.

I'm currently using Beanstalk BUILD "BeanStalk-4.4.285-20140604-venturi.zip". My problem is i can't connect to a wifi hotspot maybe since i don't have a mac address. In WiFi Settings my MAC Address is "00:00:00:00:00:00". Does the MAC Address caused the wifi connection issue? I tried adding a folder "imei" in "/efs" and created a file called ".nvmac.info" and i entered my Default MAC Address from the previous build of Beanstalk which is "BeanStalk-4.4.285-20140523-venturi.zip". After creating the file, i saved and changed the permission the same as the other files in root which is "rw-r-r" and also the folder imei which i changed the permission to what the other folder in root. After creating the folder and the file, i rebooted my device and i checked my efs, It was empty. I already tried several times to save it but the rom deletes it every reboot even though i already changed the permission. I viewed the "boot.txt" in root and found the line "efs failed: Invalid argument". Any idea how to solve the wifi connection issue? i just updated to the latest stable rom as what Meticulus uploaded which is "BUILD 0604".
I also exprienced this issue from "[ROM][OFFICIAL][KitKat 4.4.4][YP-G70/YP-G1] PAC-man 4.4.4.RC-1".
I attached the screenshots of "boot.txt" and MAC Address that displays "00:00:00:00:00:00". :good: Hope someone might able to help. Thanks in advance. :good:

As you can see from the boot.txt, the only argument passed is "-t vfat". It seems as though your efs folder is not formatted "vfat" and mount is unable to mount it. You should format "/dev/block/mmcblk0p10" to vfat then re-add the files that are supposed to be there.
:good:
Don't ask me how to format vfat, never had to do it before but I'm sure theres plenty of info on the net about how to format a block vfat for android.
For future builds, I will see if "mount -t auto" will work.

I see, so the problem is the "mmcblk0p10". Gonna search on that matter in formatting the vfat. Thanks for the response, Meticulous :good: . I'm sticking with this ROM because of its stability and smoothness .
Can someone (who never touched it, obviously) dump his misc partition and upload it?
From H850 international variant.
I wiped mine while I was in a twrp bootloop and need to flash one back.
Open a terminal, and after su run:
dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/misc of=/sdcard/misc-dump.img
Thanks
C'mon guys.
Really now, noone?
I case you were wondering at the lack of replies: people won't ever dump their misc partitions unless they're pretty naive: it includes things like bespoke MAC addresses, WiFi passwords and certificate info,so presumably a lot of other security related stuff... I know some of the stuff in there, but I'm not smart enough to scrub it before posting it around... and some of the sanitising (MAC addresses) would make it unusable for you.
What are you aiming to get to (stock ROM / LineageOS / other)??
You can just factory restore using LG Bridge on a Windows PC and then if you want LineageOS, then you can start again (re-flash the unlock.bin, sideload TWRP, etc)....
BTW - I did the same - LineageOS auto-update, bricked (here) and then recovered (back to LG stock), then tried again: unlocked it again, TWRP again... and re-installed LineageOS, only to face problems with WiFi now as my entire data partition (incl. misc) appeared encrypted - if I try to wipe it and start again, then the WiFi MAC address is all 0's and I can't seen to insert the original MAC (either via cat'ing in a replacement config file into data/misc/wifi like THIS) or via various "busybox ifconfig" commands...
Really frustrating... I can get everything, including WiFi working again if I re-apply a factory reset via LG Bridge, but I can't flash LineageOS as it seems that the data partition is unwritable (encrypted?) until I wipe it in TWRP...

I just need it to stop Wi-Fi MAC address from being changed on reboot and restore any other potential loss from the wiped misc.
I'll use a hex editor to search for the address and edit the one uploaded ofc.
As for security, misc is a readonly partition, no personal stuff/data are stored in it. Only the MAC address can be considered "targeted information" which is not sensitive or smth as MAC is not reachable/trackable after first router hop anyway.
If someone uploads it you'll solve your issue too.

The guide at https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/how-to/guide-fix-wifi-mac-address-changing-t3533841 didn't help?
Under RR now I still had the issue with changing MAC addy despite the guide (all other roms like AOSiP, DU or OwnRom were fine) - but I noticed that it only ever changed it to ONE specific addy. So I used that one and set it with the guide and it's been stable since then :fingers-crossed:

Well that was my point - it IS permanent for me.
Under RR it kept changing the MAC back at every reboot, but always to ONE specific MAC. So I edited the config file with that MAC and it hasn't changed it back yet (roughly 12 reboots and a dirty flash later).
Nexus 4 Repartition
No one is responsible for your actions except yourself. Everything written further may potentially brick your device, although risk is reduced to minimum.
This repartition package offers 1.5G /system; a /vendor partition and it is fully backward compatible with any ROM (including stock system.img).
Known-issues
HTML:
- If repartition pack says that device isn't correct,
than, if partition table wasn't modified before,
congrats! your device has different memory chip
that those I worked with. No worry, PM me and
I'll add support for it.
DO THE BACKUPs. Repartition will erase all your data
USB connection to PC is MANDATORY else you will not have opportunity to push ROM to your device
Installation
HTML:
# Before processing further we highly recommend you to use our TWRP which has support of EFS/Persist backup
# Or you might lose your IMEI/WIFI + BT mac addresses
# This mod is backwards compatible with any ROM so we highly recommend NOT to reverse it if repartition went well.
# You should use ONLY recovery from this thread since other don't support all benefits of this mod.
# When installing ROM just after you flashed zip and before installing GAPPs you MUST make a resize in TWRP since all roms are build for ~800M system.
# To restore stock layout use same zip and steps as for repartition.
1. Boot into recovery (You need to allow system partition modification to be able resize /system in recovery).
2. Backup your data & Move your files from flash to your PC.
3. Flash repartition pack zip.
4. Do the actions asked by repartition pack (go to Terminal in ordinary recovery and input word that pack will tell you. Everything else will be done automatically).
5. Phone will reboot into recovery.
6. Install TWRP from below (it is build with support of new partitions layout and sizes. It can be differed from official TWRP by next format 3.x.x-1 UA).
7. Format everything. (mount errors will not affect formatting!)
- In TWRP: Wipe > Format data
- Type yes
- Once this completes go to: Wipe > Advanced Wipe
- Tick all the boxes and wipe. There should be no further mount errors.
8. Install ROM which you like.
9. Enjoy better flash partition layout.
If something gone wrong - we recommend you using this guide to restore your phone back

Common issues and F. A. Q.
Repartition pack should be safe for most devices. Common mistakes, issues and their solution will be published here.
1. You shouldn't flash any internal parts of repartition pack (*.sh files) only flash whole zip using TWRP. You may use my scripts for personal use or projects but authorship should to be kept.
2. If something isn't mounting after repartition try to format partitions that don't mount using Wipe -> Advanced Wipe in TWPR. Ideally you should format in that way all partitions in Advanced Wipe menu (see 5-th step of installation guide).
3. To be sure that repartition went well I enclose loging zip. Flash it after repartition (when device reboots into TWRP). It won't modify anything only generates a partition.log in root of internal storage and outputs your current partition layout to screen. You shoud check if your layout is same as those fragments I provide under spoiler (file systems doesn't matter). If there are any differences you have to discribe what you did and enclose partition.log to your post.

Sure. In PM.
OK so my nexus 4 can't transfer files to or from PC at all so if I do this and have the ROM downloaded it will wipe the ROM and the ROM would be gone and my phone would be a nice brick because I can't transfer any files to my PC like it charges with the PC but data transfer doesn't work so again would I be screwed?
@Nathan4923 correct. Usb connection and PC are mandatory
For those who downloaded repartition pack before this message is published, please redownload pack since previous version might have a problems with repartition. If repartition was already made, don't worry everything should be fine. Just use up-to-date pack.

you can do that by going to advanced wipe in twrp
(I posted this on the Android Mods Thread on accedent)I have a LG Nexus 5 HammerHead and tried to flash the newest Kali NetHunter using TWRP 3.5.2. After I flashed the ROM successfully, I have notice that the phone itself says no wifi networks found when swipe down to look at the wifi connections. I go to the wifi settings it says "Searching for wifi networks" with a spinning wheel of death(the loading icon). I've tried configuring it to use 2.4 Mhrz and didn't work, set it up to where it would only find good connections and still didn't work, I even did a factory reset and actually made it worse. I even reflashed it and see if that fixed it, nope. I connected it to the internet using a Ethernet adapter that is made for phones using a micro USB connection, updated the apps, updated and upgraded Kali NetHunter itself in the terminal and wifi connections is still not finding any connections at all. Could It be that Kali NetHunter doesn't support the internal wifi card that is built into my phone, could it be that twrp is having some errors on their end, or is it a bug that Offensive Security is not aware about? Please Help?
This may happen cos of wi-fi firmware. These files are called fw_bcmdhd.bin and fw_bcmdhd_apsta.bin. There are two versions of firmware:
1. https://github.com/LineageOS/androi...c531cd30abd21d93c5a04/bcmdhd/firmware/bcm4339

You need to find where these files are stored in your rom, replace them with files from version 1 or version 2, restore permissions for these files if necessary and reboot your phone.

This may happen cos of wi-fi firmware. These files are called fw_bcmdhd.bin and fw_bcmdhd_apsta.bin. There are two versions of firmware:

Honestly, I have been trying to find these files and can't seem to find them. I even put the file name on the search bar of my windows 10 and it can't find them either. I think its just missing firmware on Offensive Security's end in this situation. I've had a troublesome experience with their kali linux products such as kali linux itself on having missing firmware after installation. Thank you for helping me out and hopefully these files should do the trick after I re-flash NetHunter with the firmware you have provided. As a matter of fact would the files belong in the firmware folder?

You will not find them in the search bar of your windows)
And no, firmware is not missed. Without wi-fi firmware you will be unable to enable Wi-Fi at all. In your case Wi-Fi can be enabled but you didn't see any networks.
Also /firmware - is incorrect place. It is a mount point of the /modem partition.
Wi-Fi firmware can be located at /system/firmware or /system/vendor/firmware/. Try to find them in TWRP. Boot into TWRP, mount System partition, open File Manager and review all the paths i've listed here. But i can't be sure cos i've never used Kali NetHunter.

Ok, I've been to those locations and in the system's folder, no firmware folder. However, in the sys folder, there is and does not show any firmware files in TWRP.
Give me the links to ROM files u flashed
This came directly from kali.org.
What was your base ROM before installing Kali? Stock Android 6.0.1?
yes
Well, Wi-Fi firmware in stock android 6.0.1 is located at /system/vendor/firmware/ folder. I've looked in the kali installer script and didn't find any scripts which can modify or delete this firmware. So we can try to install different firmwares into stock folders. I've attached 2 flashable zips for you. Try the -DHD version first. Flash it in TWRP and reboot your phone. If it doesn't help, then try -STOCK version.
It this will not help then i'm out of options

Ok, I have tried both. Sadly I guess I'm out of luck and this is now nothing but a bricked phone in my hand. None of these files worked and actually made my phone crash when I tried to load the first file. I tried the second file as well and now I can't turn wifi on. I might as well have to build my own rom or junk this phone

Don't hurry to kill your phone) Try to revert to complete stock 6.0.1 and re-lock bootloader by this instruction:
[TUTORIAL] How to flash a factory image | Return to stock | Unroot/SAVE your Nexus 5
How to flash a factory image | Return to stock | Unroot your Nexus 5 Hello Nexus 5 Users! I see many users that don't know how to restore their Nexus 5 to stock. It may come in handy, either when you want to RMA your phone, or you want to...

And if your wi-fi will not work then yes, something bad happened with hardware

I tried both packages and thery didn't break my ROM. Unhappily they did not help.
I use the Re4son Kernel and can set wlan0 to monitor mode. But airodump is blind then.
@r.mutt @Martisabolt
Hammerhead kernel source (Marshmallow)
These are the complete Nexmon files seperately arranged.
Either you use a proper file manager with root permission, or just use the TWRP fiile manager and insert/copy them into the according sections.Maybe set the correct permission, while you're there and of course know your stuff. :>

Hi Mate, Sorry for the delayed reply. Now i can afford nexus 5. Faced same issue as you. Thanks @z3DD3r for the hint.
Follow below instruction If you want wifi.
*Boot to Twrp
*locate /advanced/filemanager/vendor/firmware
You are there
(Note: 100% you can't see the files as discussed in above thread. But those are hidden(while installing nexmon from nethunter store i have seen those already exists in same folder))
*At bottom you see permisson blue box
*Click the same-select chmod 755-swipe to confirm
Now reboot to system. Here you go.
